Cass let out a long sigh of boredom. Herbology was sometimes interesting, and there was certainly less writing and more... gardening than any other class. Which was something they couldn't say they were used to. But despite the fact that a lot of wizarding plants for whatever reason like to try and harm you, todays lesson was relatively slow paced and well.. boring.
It didn't help that Cass wasn't particularity good with plants either. Living in a manor had some advantages, like actual gardeners. As a result most of their childhood experience with plants was getting yelled at for destroying them. It wasn't their fault that the flowerbeds just happened to be where they were falling off their broomstick! If they had any control over the situation, they wouldn't be falling in the first place. Still, the plants were outright destroyed significantly impacted in the speed they grew at the end of the day and Cass had to get healed for their bruises. Seems like the plants came off much better to them.
So they weren't exactly thrilled with herbology lessons unless it involved active risk of harm to someone. No big deal, they could always just do what they did in every other class- every possible thing but the work. They stood in place near the back of the greenhouse, slightly away from the group of students. If they had to repot yet another boring, non-biting-or-exploding-or-attacking-plant again they were going to explode. Make the plants recover from that.

Bridgette scanned through their textbook on Mandrakes, actively looking for the part of the text that mentions why one must wear earmuffs when in the greenhouses, and highlighted the it when they finally found what they were looking for. Currently, the class was just supposed to be reading up for the end of year exam. Everyone else had been quite content to talk instead of study, so they had taken a seat at the back of the greenhouse next to a bored looking Slytherin first year.
They supposed the Professor might get a bit angry should they look over and see someone not even talking to anyone, as well as blatantly ignoring their studies, so they shoved their hands where they shouldn't be and spoke up.
"Y'know, if you just sit there, then the Professor will get mad at you. At least come over here and look like you're helping me study?" They suggested, glancing up as they finished reading another paragraph and catching onto the tailwind of their sentence.
"You don't want to lose your house any points, do you? I doubt they'd like you much if you did it constantly and... well, let's just say I've heard a few rumors about you. People either love or hate troublemakers, and the majority is a fan of the latter option." They smile knowingly at the disinterested first year before shrugging and turning back to their book. Up to the other if they would join Bridgette for a little back and forth quizzing, yes?Reducioooc notes:

They shifted from one foot to another in their spot in the corner. Far away from the tables and the books was where they would very much prefer to be, thanks. Still, the griffindor had a point. Though they doubted anyone would like them any less for it, loosing house points was never the best look. Slytherin may not need the title of the house cup to prove their superiority, but it was always nice to have. As things stood they hadn't won the cup since May last year! And while of course they didn't need it, it would be nice to win just once during their first year.
Moving away from their corner, they took a seat at the other students table. Though it had far to many books on it for their liking, they supposed they could tolerate it for the greater good. In an attempt to make the other kid laugh, they picked up a book deliberately upside down and propped it up in front of them. "If you insist" they casually drummed their fingers against the table "And your totally wrong there- people love troublemakers". Well. That didn't apply to idiots who took things to far and got people hurt. But other than that, everyone loved a break from the boring. They had yet to meet a student who they couldnt convince to get up to mischief with them.
Rumours though were interesting- the only thing they could really be known for is that one food fight they started, but overall this year had been disappointing in terms of chaos caused. Eh, they could always ramp things up next year. "What rumours though?" they flicked a tiny piece of dirt off the table while they spoke.

Bridgette snorted at the other's playful inclinations, nodding at their book. "You ought to put that book right side up, yeah?" They glance back at the others face once before returning to their own studies. They highlighted a few things in their textbook in pink for things that were likely to be on the exam, and yellow for things that might be but likely weren't. The yellow highlights were just for casual knowledge, something they would be able to look back at or think about when bored and with little else to do. Things that would likely be helpful in the future but not at this moment in time.
They glanced up momentarily at the other when the mention of rumors came back up, not keen on answering the question but opting to do so in lieu of being rude or coming off that way. To be clear, though, they had only ever heard one rumor about them, and it had been about how one time the Slytherin first year had managed to start a food fight in the cafeteria and get tons of people in trouble for it. "Yeah, the one about the food fight in the Great Hall. I think that's what it was, anyways, 'cause that's all I remember to be honest."Reducioooc notes: lol i love them already

They grinned "But what if I feel like reading upside down?". Griffindor-persons textbook was highlighted and look colour coded (disgusting behaviour), and looked like it came straight out of a horror movie. The kind of horror movie any sensible person would write anyway. Now that they thought of it, they hadn't gotten the other students name. "Im Cass- though apparently you already know me from my daring exploits" they made jazz hands. Hey, if it got a laugh a little silliness could be excused. Cass was a professional at excusing a lot of silliness for no good reason. Everything was better with silliness.
And they had heard of their food fight! At least that one was intentional. Boredom made you do crazy things, what could they say? Yet another reason why all classes should be on brooms and involve dueling. If you prevented boredom you lowered student crime rates! Unfortunately they had a feeling that the teachers wouldn't quite be overjoyed by their suggestion. Perhaps they were all secretly a new type of vampire that fed off their boredom and didn't want to relinquish their one source of food!
They should totally send a letter to the daily prophet about their wild conspiracy theory exposing them. Under a pen name of course. They were pretty sure that would count as bringing shame to the family if they did it under their own. Although they would argue that they should be. For improving the quality of Hogwarts education of course. Perhaps classes should also involve food fights though...
