What do you see?

[quote]Blaire bristled with anticipation for her class to be over. Not that she didn’t enjoy potions, but it was too beautiful of a day to be spent all the way down here. She tried to focus on her schoolwork, but her mind wandered. She could picture the lake, dazzling in the sun light. The waves lapping gently at the shore. Blaire could hear the birds chirping merrily. Her head rested in the palm of her hand, eyes starring off longingly into the distance. Finally, the class was dismissed. Blaire darted out, scrambling for the door. She didn’t even stop off at her dormitory to leave her book bag or change out of her school robes.
The black and green robes billowed out behind her as she raced upstairs, zig zagging in and out between other students. Finally, she reached the massive wooden door that led outside. Giving it a gentle push, she sighed with relief as she felt the warm sunlight hit her face at last. That first breath of fresh air was always the best. Blaire hated being cooped up indoors. Back home she was always outside, exploring the thick dense woods that surrounded the manor, or basking in a patch of warm sunlight in the field. She loved climbing trees, when her nanny wasn’t looking, or trying to make friends with the wildlife. Someday, Blaire aspired to be a magizoologist. She couldn’t imagine a better job, then spending all day with animals, outside.
There were students everywhere, crowded around in small groups, enjoying the particularly nice weather. Blaire shrugged out of her robe, tucking it over her book bag. She didn’t mind that due to her short frame, the robe dragged along the ground. Making her way towards the lake, she smiled happily to herself taking in the springtime air. Laughter could be heard all around. There was a gentle breeze that kept the heat at bay. The sun was high in the sky, illuminating the whole picture-perfect scene. This weather put Blaire in a giddy mood. Humming no particular tune to herself, she skipped along the path that led its way down to the water.
There wasn’t a lake as grand as this one by her family’s home. But if you ventured far enough into the forest there was a stream. The waters there moved fast and steadily over the rocks. Blaire liked to walk barefoot over the smooth stones and let the cool water rush by her. The moss that grew in between them tickled her toes. Sometimes she watched fish swim along with the current. If she sat very still, she could watch as animals came up to drink from it. So far, she had seen a fox, some rabbits, and lots of birds. It wasn’t very large, but Blaire felt very peaceful sitting by it.
Choosing an area that had no coverage from trees, she deposited her book bag and robe onto the ground. Kicking off her flats, she yanked off her tall socks and left them next to her bag. Wriggling her now free toes in the grass she smiled. The coolness was nice beneath her feet. She felt less restrained. Life here at Hogwarts was a lot stricter than what Blaire had been used to. She wasn’t quite used to being told where to go, and when to go. At home her mother didn’t care what Blaire did, as long as she stayed out of her way. And her poor Nanny wasn’t about to discipline the small rambunctious child.
Blaire dropped down to the ground, crossing her legs underneath her. Her eyes looked out across the glistening great lake. The water was a solid blue glass, reflecting the glow from the sun overhead. It’s waves gently rolled up to the shore, the sound was very soothing. As Blaire sat there, she felt a calmness filling her inside. Looking up to the sky, a giant puffy cloud eased by, blocking most of the sunshine out. Tipping her head, she leaned back into the soft grass. Raising her hand delicately to shield the few rays still beaming down to earth. Blaire studied the clouds as they floated by. One of them looked like a giant elephant. The one next to it could be a pirate ship if you squinted your left eye and cocked your head to the side. Blaire let a laugh escape her lips. This one looked like someone with a very long nose. And a group of birds just flew out of their nostril.
