My name is Scout Yi Fu-Hai, I was born in Shanghai, and I now live in a town in England. My birthday is the first of April, and my favorite color is red. My dad is a a stay-at-home-wizard and my mum is a Potioneer! I have a cousin named Asteria who's also at Hogwarts!
Now that introductions are over with, I'll answer your question! I'd love to hangout with you- but maybe not at the library... it's all quiet and stuffy there, not my vibe. I also don't like History of Magic for the same reason. The professor seems cool but it's just such a boring and bland class. Before I went to Hogwarts, I went to a muggle school and history was the same! So boring.
As for my interests, I really like to climb trees! I'm really good at it too. Honestly, I just really like to play outside, I kind of wish Hogwarts had a playground so I could swing or something, but you could probably make something similar with magic, I bet!

Opening the letter carefully, she read it, her heart pounding with excitement.

Smiling, she went back to her books and took out some spare parchment, thinking of what to write.

Rereading her letter a few times, she nodded and tied the letter to the owl, sending him off again. Through the window, not the room.

My best friend's birthday is April 1st like yours! She goes to Beauxbaton though so I don't get to see her a lot. Do you have a best friend?
My favorite color is tied with two others. Pink, red, and white are the three colors at the top of my colors.
My parents are stay-at-home wizards, doing their jobs, trying not to be suspicious around Muggles. I had a tutor (that my brother had) after I learned that I could do magic. My brother is in his 6th year here, what year is your cousin in?
Maybe we could meet up in the Potions classroom? It would be fun for a change of background for studying. As I write this, I'm in my dorm haha.
I like climbing trees too! My brother and I have competitions on who can get the highest. I've won more than he has, partly because I'm smaller. Another interest of mine is acting. Have you ever been in a play? I have and it is so much fun.

Hi again! Thanks for replying so fast! I was so excited to see the owl with my letter, when it tapped at the dorm window I was like 'woah! so speedy!', and then the owl got annoyed i took so long to actually get the letter from it, so I had to give it extra treats.
Your friend sounds so cool, Beauxbatons is one of the other magical schools, isn't it? I don't actually know much about other schools, only that they exist. I heard that sometimes throughout the year at Hogwarts the other schools come to visit! If they do, are you going to meet up with your friend? That'd be really fun.
My cousin is a first year like we are (she's a Gryffindor just like me!), but if you ask me, she could totally be like a fifth year or something. She's really smart, but my uncle says that she sleeps a lot, which is why she isn't smarter. Isn't that so lame?
I'm so sorry you live in London! I live in Ely, it's in Cambridgeshire. My mum was like 'I have a career here in England so we can't live in China', and my dad was like 'Ok, but we're not living in London, no matter what!' and I really appreciate that decision.
Also you can just call me Scout! Do people actually call you Lizzie? It's such a cute nickname!

That must be kind of annoying when that happens. I had that happen once when a late Christmas present arrived from my parents and I was almost done with a letter I was going to send to them.
Yes, Beauxbaton is one of the other magic schools. Sometimes I go visit my French grandparents and hang out with her. If she visits sometime, maybe you could hang out with us if she says it's ok?
Do you have relatives in London or do they also hate the disgusting smells there and live in the country like you? My other grandparents are in Ireland so I know some Irish and French in order to communicate with them since they don't know much English.
One of my friends (Ravenclaw!) started calling me Lizzie and I've gotten used to it. Few people call me Elizabeth, they mostly use my nicknames. Unless of course, they're angry with me or it's a teacher.
Maybe we could spend the summer together and I can get out of the smelly city! That would be exciting if we did that.

Woah! You get to visit them in France? I'd love to go, I bet it's really pretty. I don't actually know any French but... I know Mandarin, so like I feel like French should be a piece of cake. My mum tells me that Mandarin is a really hard language to learn, but my dad says it's super easy so I don't know who to really trust... (Also I'd totally love to hangout with you and your friend, that sounds so fun!)
Pretty much all of my family lives in- hold on, I don't actually know the way to spell it in English. Ok, I asked my cousin, it's spelled Fengjing Town. I've never really had to write down the name of the specific town I'm from, 'cause it's easier to just say 'Shanghai', and it's easier to spell. Anyway, most of my family lives either in or around there. My mum doesn't have any siblings and both of my grandparents on her side are dead, so it's basically just my dad's side of the family. (But Asteria lives in Scotland!)
Are you going to stay home for the summer? I kind of wanted to, but my parents are suggesting that I stay at Hogwarts for summer camp! I haven't decided if I want to or not, to be honest. It sounds fun but I'll only do it if I know my friends are going to stay! I'd be so bummed if I ended up staying behind and all of my friends went home, I'd be so lonely!

I could teach you some French if you'd like. I would have to double check with my brother on spelling though haha. Learning French for some people is easy but hard for other kinds of people. Me, I've been visiting my grandparents so it's been kind of both I guess.
Do you get to visit your family in China often? Or is it too far to do that? Scotland is closer so I would imagine that you visit Asteria more often.
Now that I think of it, maybe I want to try summer camp here. That sounds like fun, if it seems fun well...I can always go home for the holidays, see my family, etc.. I have lots of acquaintances here but only 2-4 friends so it's not like if I stay here and they go home, I'll be bored or anything. I have nature and the library!
Someone just told me that my brother wants to go out walking with me. He's a Hufflepuff so unfortunately, he can't come in and deliver the message to me. Well, I gotta go, we're super close siblings and he doesn't want to drift too far apart. See you!

That'd be so cool! I think the only words I know are 'croissant' and 'oui', and in return I could teach you some Mandarin! It's a lot easier to say the words than it is to write them, so maybe we can have a language lesson in person so I don't have to figure out how to write the hanzi.
I don't really visit super often- once every other year to celebrate Lunar New Year, but besides that, not really. My family sends me money for my birthday every year though! But CNY is the biggest event we celebrate, so there's not a lot of reason to go back for any other holiday besides that. I kind of wish I could go more often, 'cause I really like to eat the food there, it's so good!
If you're going to stay for summer camp, then I think I will too! We can hangout and stuff so it won't be lonely for either of us! Plus I can meet your friend too if we don't have time to meet up during the school year. I've heard exam season is really busy here!

Wow! That sounds fun having CNY! I've heard stories that it's different than here for New Year's.
If I can convince my friend to join us, then we'll have the most wonderful time at camp! I invited two other friends to join us, so maybe you can ask a friend to join us as well! If so, tell me his/her answer when we meet up!

It's my favorite holiday of all time. I get to eat yummy food and then get lots of money! We celebrate it kind of the same as New Years, like a huge family gathering and stuff- but it lasts a lot longer than normal New Years. When I was younger, my cousin and I would do mock lion-dances. It's one of the things I miss about China, besides the food.
I'll invite my friend Emily- she's so cool and so awesome! You'll definitely like her, she's really nice too. She's a Hufflepuff and she really likes magical creatures 'n stuff like that! Also I'm very excited to meet your friends, they sound pretty rad.
I'm free tomorrow, so I'm totally down to hangout! Will your friend be hanging out with us? Also, where should we meet? Like should I go to the Ravenclaw common room? Or do you want to meet in front of the Great Hall...? Please let me know before tomorrow!
Also do me a favor, when you meet this owl, give him a treat please. His name is Pebble and he's been mad at me 'cause I keep forgetting to give him treats when he delivers my letters.

That's awesome! Usually I avoid sweets myself because I swear, I'll get a toothache because it is so addicting for me! However, on special occasions, I bring out a small box of chocolate and take one out. My mom made it so that I can only take one and it'll know if I took more than that! I asked her to before I left for Hogwarts!
Oooh! She sounds really nice! If her last name is Shephard, then I know her a teeny bit because we once bumped into each other at the ballroom!
My friend really wanted to come but she sent a letter to me saying that she's getting ready for a camp that she's going to! If she's going to the Hogwarts Summer Camp, perhaps you can meet her there! She is really fun to hang out with!
As for hanging out, maybe we can hang around the grounds, in the potions room, or anywhere else you'd like to hang out at! I'm totally down for any of it! I'll meet you in the corridors on the second floor tomorrow and we can choose where we can hang out. Or we could just stay there and talk for a bit, whichever is fine with me!
