Today, Brooke decided to owl someone she knew from her classes. Even though she didn’t know this girl completely, she still thought it would be nice to get to know this girl.
After stepping out the Ravenclaw Common Room around 5:00 before supper, Brooke hurried to the Owlery. Once she arrived, sharp smelling scents hit her nose. Eww, did the owls shit more today? she thought, wrinkling her nose. She went to a table, and spread out her parchment paper and quill.
Brooke scribbled a letter out addressed to Wilhelmina Stewart:Hello Wilhelmina!
I'm Brookline Quinn and I heard you like to plant! I love being connecting with nature as well! I thought you may like someone to talk to so here I am. (;
So a little about me, I'm 11, a pureblood, and I have two best friends at home, the names of Winnie and Peter. I have a Welsh accent and I live in Whales. What about you?
I hope you have a good night! Your new quill pal,

Brooke wrapped the envelope around the handsome brown owl’s talon and the owl’s wings folded in and stretched out. He soared out the window, finding the girl that was addressed on the letter. Brooke hurried down to the Great Hall before she missed supper.

Interacting - @Brookline Quinn // Dialogue- Thoughts
Winnie was sat at the Ravenclaw table in the Great Hall, finishing her second heaping plate of desserts. Mid bite, she was jolted with a shock as a cute brown owl swooped down past her shoulder. Frozen in confusion she watched as a small letter dropped next to her plate, her hands reaching for the parchment which had her name scripted on the front. Winnie opened it apprehensively, shoulders sagging back down in relief as she realized it was an ordinary letter- not a howler. She heard one of her peers receive a scathing howler, the memory of the sheer abrasiveness of it made her shiver. Why couldn't wizardkind just send letters normally? I don't know if I'll ever get used to this. She sighed, but a smile broke upon her face as she tucked the letter into her robe pocket. It was the first one she had gotten after all!
Finishing her sweets swiftly, she said her goodbyes and left the table. Winnie ran back to the Ravenclaw tower, looking for a quiet corner to read in peace. The letter was from a fellow Ravenclaw first-year who she hadn't had the chance to speak to yet. It was short and sweet, and Winnie read it over three times before heading back to her room to write her reply.

Letter 1 / September 28th
Dear Brookline!
Thank you so much for writing to me! I was so happy to get this letter, my parents are muggle so they are still getting used to the wizarding world customs. Being a pureblood this must all be so normal to you which is soooooo cool!!
I am 12 years old, from a small town in Yorkshire. I grew up on a farm and have never been to Wales, what is it like? Are you from a big city? That's so cool you have another friend named Winnie, are they purebloods too? I have two friends back home named Lucille and Alex, they are muggles though, so they don't know about magic. They think I'm at some fancy boarding school here in Scotland that doesn't allow phones and all that. I feel bad having to lie to them.
I love nature too! I like to sketch out plants, we should go on a walk sometime and you can tell me more about magical herbs I would really really like that! Magical beasts are AMAZING!
Sorry if this letter is long and rambling I hope you don't mind. Hope to hear back from you soon
-Winnie Stewart
P.s. I hope it's not too confusing having two friends named Winnie. Maybe we should think of a new nickname? Minnie?

Winnie signed off her letter, setting down her quill and read her reply 5 times over. She pursed her lips, huffing as she checked for spelling mistakes. Content with her letter, she tucked it away into an envelope, addressing it to Brookline and sealing it up. She left the letter to sit on her nightstand as it was too late now to head to the owelry, opting to go the next morning before breakfast.
As the night passed and the morning sun rose, Winnie got up earlier than normal to drop off her letter. She raced to the owelry, panting as she entered the room which quickly filled her nose with the pungent smell of the owl poop.
"Eugh!! Yuck." Winnie whined nasally, her fingers pinching her nose to block the smell. The owls are so cute but they are way too smelly! She found the closest owl, which was a small barn owl and attached her note to it's talons. She gave the owl a gentle smile and pat its feathers on the top of it's head before stepping back and watching the owl hop out and soar through the window to deliver her letter.

Working on homework during the crack of dawn, Brooke scribbled an answer on the dry dark yellow parchment. Yawning, the Ravenclaw scribbled an another answer down, waiting to go to breakfast.
Once Brooke was allowed to go down to the Great Hall, she walked down the large stairs, watching carefully for the hexed steps.
Taking a seat at the Ravenclaw table, she took a piece of toast and a cup of orange juice. Taking a sip of orange juice, a small barn owl flapped his wings; flying down to Brooke. A letter was attached to his talons. Is it mom? Or is Wilhelmina? Brooke asked herself, reaching out for the owl.
Thumping down on the table, the owl held out his talons, knowing what to do. “Hi,” Brooke spoke babyish to the owl, petting him. Taking the letter, she opened it. It was Wilhelmina! Reading it, she took another drink of orange juice and grabbed her toast for the road.
Once the Ravenclaw had gotten to the Owlery, Brooke pulled out a quill and parchment out of her robes. Scribbling with her quill, she wrote:
Good morning Wilhelmina!
No problem! I like to be busy, so writing’s is one of my passions! Being a pureblood is kinda cool but you don’t know anything about muggles. It’s sad when someone talking about a muggle item and I have zero idea what they’re talking about! (:
Yorkshire sounds cool! Lucky! I love farms! I do not come from a city, I come from a quiet countryside mansion thingy in Ferndale. Ferndale is quiet, but is filled with muggles. We usually do all our shopping and stuff like that in London by Floo Power or brooms! Winnie is a pure blood, but unfortunately she’s a squib so she’s not here. But Peter, he’s a half-blood, who goes to Beauxbatons, he moved to Paris last May. Sad, I would have had a friend I knew here if his mother didn’t want a new job. Dang, I feel bad for you. I wish you didn’t had to lie to them, maybe you could send letters to them, muggle style? Question, how do Muggles send letters and mail?
I love drawing! Magic herbs? I love magic herbs! Definitely! I’d love to teach you about magical herbs. You can teach me about muggle items!
Thanks for writing back so quickly! Also, you can call me a nickname if you’d like! Hope you write soon,
Brookline
P.s, Minnie sounds fun! Whatever you’d like!
Brooke signed it off and put it to a school owl’s talon and let it soar off. She tucked her quill into her robes and raced to class. She had realized that she was gonna be late.
