Saskia rolled her eyes at Lamik's mispronunciation of her name, although it was more in a playful manner than it was out of exasperation. She could already tell she was going to have to deal with much more than that in the future.

In all fairness, his plan seemed reasonable enough. They still needed to make sure the typewriter could actually... Well, write, before they could do anything else. Not that she could be of any real help, but she could very much try.

"Sure, Lanyard. Sounds good to me." She grinned impishly at Lamik, making it clear she knew exactly what she did when she said that. Sure, she was essentially copying what he was doing, but hey, they both had uncommon names that could easily be mispronounced. It was only fair.

She paused, taking another look at the typewriter. It was rather old, and while it wasn't exactly close to breaking or malfunctioning permanently, it still had some scratches and dents. Her grandparents must have used it a lot, and maybe her father, too. She wondered how long it was used for. Maybe her great grandparents also used it, and passed it down. Or perhaps it extended back way longer than that. Probably not too long- otherwise, that typewriter would be close to a pile of rubble. She considered asking her father that after this was all done.

"All right. What do you think we should do first, Laminator?" she asked, turning towards the boy again.

"All right. What do you think we should do first, Laminator?"

Lamik laughed. "Laminator. Don't you know its rude to make fun of people's names?" The boy joked, faking a hurt face.

During the few weeks after his discovery of the typewriter, Lamik had visited Ms. Green quite often. During that time she had taught him all of the basic maintenance and usage, along with what most of the pieces did and how to make basic repairs.

Before even beginning the process, Lamik knew that the two would have to find the right materials. "I doubt that we will be able to complete the whole process, but we might as well check off as many things as we can." First thing that he knew was on the list was taking apart the exterior plates. This would cause quite a mess, however, so the library was obviously not the optimal place to work. "Do you think that there's anywhere we could go that's more private? Somewhere where no one would catch us making a mess of things?" Lamik took a few last looks at the typewriter from as many angles as possible, making note of all the screws and latches, along with what they each held in place.

"Laminator. Don't you know its rude to make fun of people's names?"

Saskia shrugged, a grin still on her face. "I may not know about technology, but from what I've heard, laminators are cool. Besides, I could have called you something worse, like Lemon or Lamp."

"I doubt that we will be able to complete the whole process, but we might as well check off as many things as we can."

Saskia nodded in agreement. "That's reasonable."

They were probably still missing some parts of the typewriter, though that may have been her fault for not being able to grab them while she was snooping around. In hindsight, it might have been a better idea to just grab a bunch of spare parts in the storage room, although there was the fact that she didn't know which ones she would need to get.

She sighed to herself. This would have been all avoided if she just asked her father about this.

"Do you think that there's anywhere we could go that's more private? Somewhere where no one would catch us making a mess of things?"

She pondered on his question. Where could they go? She didn't know any particularly secret rooms in Hogwarts. There may have been some hidden spots she found around the school, but she wasn't sure if they were reliable enough to use. She could easily hide the typewriter while walking in the corridors- she managed to use another bag other than her school bag to bring the typewriter with her in the library. If she could put it in that bag again, they would probably be able to go to whichever place they would go to without raising as much suspicion.

"Well," she started to say, looking outside the library as she tried to think. "There's always the abandoned toilets, but I would imagine there wouldn't be much space to work with." She knew not many people visited that area, which made it a good hiding place, but still, she wasn't too keen in working in the toilets, of all places.

"We could also go outside somewhere. There's plenty more space, and if we go far enough, there won't be as many people around," she added. It also depended on whether they could actually work on the ground, but there was always the option to stack some books and other solid objects for the typewriter to stand better.

"Other than that, I don't know any other places, other than maybe somewhere in the corridors. There's still a likely chance that someone or some people will find us there, though."

As soon as he heard the words abandoned toilets, Lamiks face went pale and he shook his head furiously. "No. Absolutely not. That's a terrible idea. Completely insane." Obviously afraid of going in them for some reason, the boy wouldn't even consider the possibility.

Slowly considering each of the other ideas that Saskia had, Lamik decided on what he thought would be best. "Going outside honestly makes the most sense. We won't be caught, and it won't be too much trouble if a bit of ink gets on the ground. Also, It's a nice day out!"

The boy got up, considering whether he should carry the typewriter, or if he should let its owner take it. Deciding that it was better not to touch it again without permission, he started listing off things they needed. "Other than that, we're also gonna need some more supplies. Some clean cloth, brushes, water, liquid soap, rubbing alcohol, maybe even some oil if we get the chance." Lamik knew that there was no way they would find everything that was needed, but he didn't mind. Doing half a job was better then doing no job at all, especially if it's with a friend. Or someone who might soon be a friend.

"No. Absolutely not. That's a terrible idea. Completely insane."

Saskia held back a laugh. She would have made fun of him for being scared, but she figured she didn't want to push it. He might have had a genuine reason to be afraid, and she didn't want to be too much of a jerk. Besides, he was technically doing her a favour by deciding not to go there. The abandoned toilets weren't exactly where she'd want to stay for the next hour or so, especially with all the weird rumours around them.

"Then we're going outside," she confirmed, nodding to herself.

She grabbed the bag she used to store the typewriter and carefully placed it back in the bag. Carrying the bag with the typewriter wouldn't be a big problem for her, but she still had to be cautious not to accidentally break the typewriter while it was still in there.

She could avoid that if she held the bag in front of her, which she did when she entered the library, though it wouldn't be convenient if she needed to do something with both hands, or if she tripped and fell. She could also carry the bag on her shoulder, which would let her keep watch of the bag and be able to hold the bag without her hands being full. She didn't want to unknowingly break it, though, and she imagined having to carry that kind of weight would not be good for her shoulders.

The girl sighed, picking up the bag with both hands and holding it close enough so it had less chances of falling. That was one part done. But there were more things to be done.

"Other than that, we're also gonna need some more supplies. Some clean cloth, brushes, water, liquid soap, rubbing alcohol, maybe even some oil if we get the chance."

"And where are we supposed to get these things in the first place?" she asked. She highly doubted they had those kinds of supplies readily available to students in the school, and they weren't allowed to go outside school grounds either.

"And where are we supposed to get these things in the first place?"

Lamik thought for a few moments. He had hoped that Saskia would have known more than him about the possible answer to that question but realized that he would have no such luck. "Are there no storage rooms in Hogwarts? Maybe ones that are used by the house elves?" The boy looked around, making sure nobody was in earshot. Lowering his voice a bit, he continued: "Maybe we could... borrow... some stuff. Just a bit." Lamik scratched the back of his head and looked down, not entirely sure whether or not Saskia was the type of person who was willing to risk getting into trouble for something like stealing the supplies they would need. "We would return what we don't end up using."

Since the beginning of the year, Lamik had managed to stay out of trouble- from the teachers and prefects at least. He was once given a warning for accidentally disturbing the whomping willow,
but that didn't result in any actual punishment. The only time he had ever actually been in any sort of serious trouble was when a student by the name of Kaegen Deathmote had set off a bomb inside the abandoned bathroom, injuring several others. Lamik had managed to get an injured girl- one who had been stabbed by Kaegen after repeatedly punching him in the face- to the medical wing, but he was left with a fear of entering the room ever again.

Saskia frowned at Lamik. She didn't understand the need for him to dance around the subject. Stealing was stealing. Even if they would return the things they stole, they still technically stole them in the first place, and it wouldn't exactly be a good excuse when one of the prefects or professors catch them. She didn't know what the punishment would be if they were caught, but she imagined it would be bad enough if they were caught stealing.

Still, she wasn't averse to that idea. Yes, she was aware that stealing was bad. But like Lamik said, they could probably return whatever they didn't use, if they even found the things they were looking for, anyhow. She could handle the consequences, whatever they may be. There were worse things that could happen, and detention was certainly not too much of a concern. At least that's what she hoped.

"Sure. But if we're going to do that, we need a plan first. We can't just rush in this if we don't want to get in trouble," she said, matching his quiet tone so nobody else could hear her.

"We'd have to figure out how we're exactly going to get the supplies, while also making sure the typewriter is safe somewhere. Since we're going to the grounds, we can just hide it somewhere there, but we'd also need to make sure we remember where it is so we can find it later."

Saskia paused for a moment. She didn't have any solid plans on how they would find the supplies without getting caught, but she figured it would be good to plan it out detail by detail. They just had to be careful not to talk too loud, or else some students would catch on and tell on them before they could do anything.

"First off, do you know for a fact that the supplies would be in the storage rooms? I'd imagine that Hogwarts wouldn't be keeping supplies around that Muggles normally use. We could still try to search the rooms, but it would be pointless if we got caught for trespassing without even finding the things we were looking for."

Lamik sighed in relief, glad that Saskia didn't up and leave the moment he mentioned the idea of stealing. He quickly looked back up and shrugged. "I don't know for a fact. You probably have more knowledge than me of what goes on at Hogwarts. But I would think so. Even a magic school must have some form of utilities that aren't magical."

As he stops talking, the boy starts feeling slightly discouraged. There may not even be a way to achieve what they wanted, even if the two kids were willing to do things that could get them in trouble. Suddenly, Lamik remembered a small detail he had noticed one day. "Wait a minute... flying class- we use a specially made cloth to clean the brooms. Plus, we were taught to polish the handles!" The grin comes back to the boys face, this time expressing simple delight. "We could use both the polish and the brushes that are used to apply it. Water is easy enough to come by. All we would need is a container to fill, and I'm sure that there is some form of liquid soap in the kitchens. Unless you know of a dish cleaning spell, that is."

Saskia nodded as she considered his words. It wasn't actually a bad idea- it was reasonable enough to assume there were magical substitutes for Muggle technology, especially for something as simple as cleaning supplies. There was still the question of whether the supplies they had in school worked the same way as the supplies that Muggles used, but they'd get to that part when they got there.

"You know, that could actually work," she finally said, raising her eyebrows.

"And I'm pretty sure there's a cleaning spell, so we might not need to visit the kitchens. Of course, if it doesn't work, we could always just douse the typewriter with water from the Great Lake as a last resort," she added jokingly.

"But anyway, now that we have that worked out, we just have to figure out how we'll get the supplies. There are different ways we could do this, but either way, we need to be as fast as possible. It would also help if we were quiet enough so we don't get anyone else's attention, and maybe if we just didn't act suspicious in general."

Saskia paused, thinking to herself for a moment before she spoke up again. "I'm thinking that maybe we could pretend to make a mess so we could have a valid excuse to find the cleaning supplies, and not get in trouble for stealing. But if you have any better ideas, feel free to share them."

Lamik was just about to argue that they would risk being caught if they asked a professor for things to clean up a mess when an odd thought hit him. "Hang on- why are we even planning on stealing them if we're just gonna be taking them from the classes? Why don't we just ask Professor Barnaby if we can borrow what we need, explain what it's for, and hope that he says yes? If he doesn't, we make plans to steal it, but I feel like it would just be a lot less trouble to just ask."

Lamik also realized that the two would need screwdrivers to remove the screws that held the typewriters plates in place. He had heard of a class that became available for some of the older kids named muggle studies, where the professor taught all about the technology used in the muggle world. Because of this, whoever the professor was could also be of help if need be, since they would probably have many tools that couldn't be found anywhere else at Hogwarts.

"If you really want us to steal though, we can do that too. I've been practicing my inconspicuous whistling, and I honestly think I'm pretty good at it."
