"It's fine. It's not every day you fall into a cut- pretty girl. Not that I was trying to." Basil wrung his hands together as Devon continued talking.
"I'm sure you don't suck. I bet your fine at drawing." Basil said trying to make her feel better about her skills. Basil blushed as she awed over his work.
"It's not that good." He mumbled. Basil went bright red as Devon commented on his popularity.
"Oh um, not really. You see, I'm really shy so no one really hangs out with me..." Basil bit his lip and looked down.
"Oh, uh thanks. I don't have to draw you now. Maybe we can set up a time for later when you and I can hang out so I can draw you." Basil hoped that he didn't sound to weird.
"If you want to that is." Basil added. Basil turned his sketchbook a few pages until he landed of the one of his sister.
"Here's a picture of my little sister." Basil said, showing it to Devon. I hope she likes it, maybe she'll see that I can draw people and then hang out with me more often. Maybe she'll even like me! Basil thought a smile on his face as he imagined Devon and him dating. Devon giggled, her cheeks flushing again. “Thanks,” she smiled. She enjoyed the compliments. “I know I’ve been teasing you about it, but I didn’t mind it,” her cheeks flushed even brighter. She giggled at Basil’s comment about her drawing. “Well then, if you can put up with my presence, maybe I can try to draw something and you can give me pointers? I am a fast learner, so I promise I won’t waste your time,” she giggled.
“I think the nice thing about art is less about the artist’s intentions than how the viewer interprets it. Thank you for sharing it with me,” Devon smiled. ”Oh, really?” She asked, clearly surprised. “Their loss, then. I’m enjoying talking to you. And I’m interested in hanging out with you,” she replied honestly.
Devon giggled even more. “I wasn’t thinking about now. But yes, we can set up a time. Let me know when you’re available, and I’ll make myself free to do this,” she smiled brightly. She looked at the picture of his sister. “Aw, she looks fantastic here! You did such a great job!” She gushed. A light flush bloomed on her cheeks. “Hey, um, Basil? Do you accept requests? May I request a picture … separately, of course? Um, would you mind drawing a picture of me dancing? Like in a nice dress and everything?” She asked, her cheeks growing redder.
Thinking for a few seconds, Devon leaned over to him. “And I’m being honest. I want to hang out with you. I don’t mind that you’re shy. You deserve people to hang out with; please let me be one of hopefully many,” she whispered in Basil’s ear. She was well aware of her proximity to him and the likelihood that her perfume of lavender and vanilla was likely overloading his senses by now. She stayed close for a few extra beats than was necessary before pulling away, her smile bright as ever.Reducio

"It probably won't be putting up. I think I'll enjoy spending time with you!" Basil said then realized what he said and tried to cover it up.
"You know, you seem like a pretty nice person..." Basil blushed then realized Devon had asked for lessons.
"I-sure! I'd be happy to tutor you." Basil agreed. I can't believe she still wants to hang out with me even though she just found out I'm a total looser with no friends! Basil wondered if he had hit her head at some point or if he was dreaming.
"Thanks, I should show you a picture sometime so you can compare her to my draw-" Devon's next words caught Basil off guard.
"I-wah-I...Oh yah, sure of course!" Basil stuttered. He felt his whole face burn as Devon leaned over to him and whispered something... very nice in his ear. Her sent was beautiful and he noticed how close she was until she pulled away from him. He coughed sure his face was a blushing mess.
"Th-thanks... I er um-" Basil cut himself off and restarted.
"I think I'm free Friday after classes, what about you?" Basil asked. Basil grabbed his sketchbook and flipped it closed. He put it back in his satchel and snapped his satchel closed. Basil really hoped that Devon didn't think him to be a looser. All evidence pointed the other way. She was really really nice to-Nope, we are not going there.
