Ravenclaw v Slytherin Quidditch Game Finished

Doing as strategized

Emma flashed a thumbs up with the bat in her hand at Hengist with a look that said 'A for effort' but the rain slightly clouded her vision of the goal posts now that she had flown out. Putting her hand down, she continued to focus on the game. Offense was supposed to be fun, but she felt an unexplainable pit in her stomach though she was one of the players with the power to cause destruction. She could only imagine how each of the chasers felt.

Smiling brightly as she spotted her best friend flying up to her position, she looked down at the Quaffle to look at its position. "Finally!" Her eyes watched a bludger fly towards the keeper and she looked at Angellica and nodding, following the play.

She swung her arm in the direction of the goal posts along with her fellow beaters and hoped for the best outcome. Their team was down ten points, but handing the quaffle over and returning to defense was the possibly worst case scenario. What could possibly go wrong in the first few seconds of the game?

One score for Slytherin already, excellent, this was going very very well. Elena had to make up her mind whether to continue watching for people to save or grab the quaffle.

Watching the beaters flying around and almost hitting each other, Elena decided that from someone as small and moveable as her, quaffle grab would be the best move, but then a bludger started streaming toward their keeper, that was not good.

Elena Jones to the rescue, she zoomed around the side of the pitch so she could catch Elijah if any of the bludgers got to him. Concussions weren’t exactly good for anyone/

A wide grin spread across Ruby's face. She had managed to not only wrestle the Quaffle away from someone else, but then proceeded to score. She had scored the first goal of the game! A sense of pride washed over her, despite some of the angry stares from the Ravenclaws. In the brief pause that followed, she scanned the stands, searching for her cousins. She found the two Gryffindors smiling up at her and cheering, and with that comfort, she continued, remaining focused on the game. No one possessed the Quaffle yet, but it appeared that the Ravenclaw Beaters were targeting Elijah, the Slytherin Keeper. However, it seemed like Elena was already on that.

In that case, she would attempt to grab the Quaffle and score. She had done it once, she could do it again, right…? Ignoring the others around her for now, she headed for it with a steely concentration, hoping that things would remain in favor of the Slytherin team. She also hoped that everyone would be okay. Sure, it was Quidditch, but that didn't mean that she wanted to see anyone get hurt, especially if those beaters were attacking her team's keeper…

In some ways, most of the game seemed to be all down to luck. Luck, and skill. Whatever it was, she welcomed it. Wouldn't it be wonderful to win her first game? She wouldn't get caught up in that, though. Not yet, not now, not when there was still plenty of time for everything to change…

O-oh no. There was already a bludger flying at Elijah. Elena was already racing towards him, but she didn't have something that Koko did - a bat. "Oh yeah?" she muttered under her breath, pouring on the speed. She had been defending the Seeker, but she was sure that Dan could fly out of the way if needed... Plus, the she would try to aim the bludger away from him.

She was now defending the Keeper. She gripped her bat and swung it with all her might, and there was a loud noise as at least part of it made contact with the bludger. She certainly hoped it would hit the Ravens.

Attempt to hit the bludger right back at Arc, who just had avoided it. 

Elijah actually smiled as Ruby successfully managed to score against the Ravenclaw keeper, a rare show of emotion on his behalf. Where others would've been whooping and cheering, the Slytherin only allowed himself the small grin before zoning back in on the Quaffle, vowing to keep a sharp eye so that he wouldn't slip up like the Ravenclaw keeper had. 

He noticed two players on his team, Koko and Elena, zooming over to his end of the pitch. Were they switching up the play? They said nothing, though, and only seemed to be glaring at the other team's players. He figured that they were here to protect him in case he got bludgeoned by the bludgers, which he certainly did not want to have happen to him. He continued his faithful watch, ready to block any incoming shots from the Ravenclaw team.

She didn't get it. Darn. Well, that was Quidditch. There wasn't much that she could do about it now other than just keep going. At least Ruby had managed to grab it. Seeing the first goal be scored, Alexx cheered, smiling brightly at her team. She sure was proud! This was an amazing bunch- all so prepared to win. It boosted her confidence tenfold. Flying further, Quaffle in mind, Alexx nodded at her teammates as she passed them. Despite that Ruby had given them their first goal, Alexx needed to contribute a bit more here. Tex would be disappointed if she did nothing but sit around for the entire game.

The quaffle was up for grabs at this point. Her eyes flashed to Ravenclaw's chasers- she couldn't let them have it. She desperately hoped that Ruby got the memo here and wasn't clouded by scoring because she could not be the only one going after this thing. Elena had taken one for the team here and was ready to save Elijah, and thank Merlin for that! Looking back at Ruby, they had the same plan in mind. Alexx nodded at her, going at the quaffle from a different angle, just in case there were any surprise attacks lurking around the corner. She would never doubt her opponents.
