Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Rose's Impediment Jinx shot towards Hades, along with Kim's curse. But, somehow, the fifth year managed to dodge both of them. But, Rose didn't have the same luck. Before she could dodge, the spell hit her. Her limbs locked, and she felt herself hit the stage below her.
The Full Body-Bind Curse. Rose had never had it successfully cast on her before, and it made her insides twist laying there. No matter how hard she tried in that moment, she couldn't break out of the bind. She had never really experienced a feeling of claustrophobia today, but the way that her muscles refused to move made her understand the feeling in such a terrible way. It was only seconds in the duel, and she was laying on the ground, doing nothing.
Her mind racing, and her limbs frozen still, Rose hoped her teammates were faring better than she was.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
The interesting thing about water was how harsh it could be at rapid speeds. While perhaps not typically assumed a weapon, it could very well be when aimed at another person. Or another two people as Lea attempted to do. Casting wouldn't prove an issue despite how brown eyes seemed to trail towards Rose despite her not being one of her targets or the fact that she was splitting the spell, able to sharply cut the movement into the air before her as she muttered the incantation. No, the issue - and the other interesting thing about water - was how challenging it was to control. The sudden pressure caused the Hufflepuff to take a step back, eyes darting between the two jets to find that neither were anywhere close to their targets. She would give up in time to see Elsa's spell darting towards her, scrambling out of the way enough to keep out of its path. It seems the others had also been successful in their dodging and casting, a nice start that Lea hoped would continue.

The blue glacial eyes were at all times watching his contricants, and he knew he must have had the expectation that some of Gryffindor’s peeps would try to strike him with some spell. Which he wasn’t wrong. Two people, precisely Kim Sato, and Rose Moon tried to direct their attacks towards him, but he managed to dodge them with a smug smile, his body moving as if he were dancing.
He watched in awe as his teammate Julian managed to perform the Full Body-Blind Curse, getting a smile and looked at Julian “Let’s hope they really realize it won’t be an easy duel.” said, with determination. He looked at Kim and it was his turn to cast the spell, which he easily did. He admired his work and stood there with his right eyebrow raised.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Julian hadn't used the Full Body Bind Curse in a duel, before It required more focus for him than other duelling spells and he was too worried that he'd miss or it would lead to him getting hit. As soon as he tried it, though, he knew it had been a mistake. It wasn't often that he could cast a spell in a duel that could advance his team's position without hurting someone else and, while there was always a grim satisfaction in mustering a hit, he appreciated the lack of guilt that accompanied watching his spell strike Rose and effectively take her out of commission. If only he could spend the entire duel doing that...
In general it seemed this first spell exchange had gone much better for the Huflepuffs than they had any right to expect, with both Hades and Julian striking true and both Lea and Hades dodging the spell's intended for them. Now they just had to do that again and again. Simple enough, but unlikely to be easy.

12th May 2024 - Afternoon
This was the scales tipping a little more decisively. Gryffindor took the moment to regroup, which made sense this early in the game. Rose needed to regain her feet, and she did, struggling against the magical petrification to rise, if still a bit sluggishly. Nicky made the strategic move of trying to blindfold Hades. The cast was impressive, a long, dark, fast strip of fabric, but Hades was faster. Kim decided to heal himself.
It was Kim who perhaps saw what was coming best, or maybe just made an incredibly lucky decision, because Hufflepuff was wasting no time at all. They wanted him out, that was the only thing three wands levelled at the same person with offensive incantations could mean. In rapid-fire succession he was doused with water and hit by not one but two Knockback Jinxes, leaving him to gasp for the air that had been knocked out of his chest. He weathered the attack, but it had clearly taken its toll, and Hufflepuff had sent a clear message: they were out for blood and they would hit their targets.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Rose struggled against the invisible force binding her, finally breaking free. She hauled herself to her feet, just in time to see Kim battered with three different spells. With the entire Hufflepuff side teaming up on him, he wasn't able to dodge, even though a spell never left his wand. She grimaced, seeing her teammate, who had already seemed a little off before the duel, being hit with what seemed to be two Knockback Jinxes and a jet of water. So the Hufflepuffs were playing dirty- all focusing on the youngest duelist. Turning her attention away from her sopping wet teammate, Rose forced herself to focus back in on the duel. She was grateful to have been able to break free faster than most, but she was not as confident as before. She had to hone her focus back in if they were going to have a chance at this, now.

Nicky's confidence was slipping away from her as quickly as it came, but nevertheless, she didn't doubt that in the end, her team would come out victorious and they'd laugh about that string of unfortunate events. It was fine. She focused on her target. It was time to rock and

| ⠀ | What was going on with his teammates went unnoticed for the most part by him because Kim was going through all the stages of being massively sick. It was almost as if he'd gotten hit by a Curse of the Bogies, although the curse had never been cast on him. Well, shit. He was briefly able to focus on his opponents during a moment of sanity, which was a good thing for his team. Kim took the time to properly focus and heal himself a little. But a few seconds after he'd done so, the fourteen year old was caught up in the urge to cross the distance between them and kiss each and every one of them. He was pulled in their direction and it almost felt as if he'd taken a few steps towards his targets. That is, until all three Hufflepuffs launched their attacks at him. Apparently, they didn't appreciate his advances. Or at least that was what Kim's muddled mind was telling him at the time. He got shot by a strong water jet and then two powerful knockback jinxes followed quickly afterward. Even though it was painful and took his breath away, he still felt the urge to kiss them. Kim took another step forward and then his legs collapsed on him. He fell onto the platform and struggled to get enough air into his lungs. There we go. Almost as if another force was driving him from the inside, Kim got back to his feet again and took another step towards the Hufflepuffs, all of whom were unscathed somehow. By this point, his nose was running, although whether it was from the sickness or the water jet that had just hit him he wasn't sure. A cough built up within him and erupted out of his throat but he kept trying to move. If someone didn't stop him, he might end up too close to the Hufflepuffs. | ⠀ |

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
After the fail the first round, Lea opted to try again but with one target this time. The pressurized water charm at the youngest of the group, faced now with three wands from the Hufflepuff's side. The spell cast now would pose little issue, especially with no spells aimed in her direction and thus no dodging needed on Lea's part. She was free to spend her time getting the wand on the target, before calling out the incantation and releasing a geyser that drenched the Gryffindor. A rather successful round, the fourth year hoped that they would be able to keep up this momentum.

He and his team had planned an offensive, a more aggressive way as he would have liked. Rose Moon, who had been petrified, finally managed to get free from the curse. His eyes widened slightly as the other girl attempted to perform the blindfolding spell, which once the Hufflepuff managed to dodge, he did not hesitate to get smug and wince at her.
Hades realized that Kim had tried to perform a healing spell, but to no avail, because all three, including himself, had chosen Kim as their target and was struck by all three spells. The boy let out a loud whistle, watching as the victim of his target tried to react “Pretty rough!” he muttered quietly. Maybe it was lucky they weren’t from higher courses.
