Tori gives some thought to what Elodie said. She spoke in more detail. She thought she might be a little right about this. Instead of a potion that made you tell the truth, a werewolf potion sounded really cool.

"I guess you're right. Yes, the most suitable potion for this assignment is Wolfsbane potion."

She started writing this on her parchment. She tried to write down exactly what Elodie said. This was a little difficult to write because Elodie said so much, so she didn't want to leave things out.

“Okay, let's see what else we can do. Hmm."

She started looking through the books again. She couldn't find much. She wanted to help her friends with this homework and show that she wasn't half-blood or ignorant.

"Why is it so difficult to find something? Have you found anything?"

She reached into her bag and started rummaging through it absently. Even though he didn't want it. She took out a chocolate. To relax, she took a small piece of chocolate and popped it into her mouth. She remembered that her other friends might also want chocolate. She lowered her voice and started speaking.

"Do you want chocolate? It increases intelligence and secretes happiness hormones."

The girl offered up a small, gentle smile and tilted her head, absentmindedly flipping through yet another book she'd pulled from her satchel, which was evidently completely filled with books.

``That'd be wonderful, if you really don't mind sharing.`` She said cheerily

Her gaze fell back onto her book, Wolfbane's Potion and Its Effect On The Lives Of Werewolves: A True Account.

She pushed her glasses up her nose, smiling down at the words sprawled across the pages, slightly yellowed with age. Elodie had borrowed the book from the library earlier in preparation for their study group, having discovered it during one of her many days spent perusing the shelves.

``Ah, here's something! 'The Wolfsbane Potion is an innovative and complex potion that relieves, but does not cure, the symptoms of lycanthropy. The main ingredient is wolfsbane (also referred to as aconite or monkshood). As such, this Potion is very dangerous when incorrectly concocted, since Aconite is a very poisonous substance'" The girl read aloud from her book, tilting her head thoughtfully and tucking her hair behind her ear.

``Shall we also look into how to make it? I've already found its ingredients, but I'm a bit confused about the actual mixing of the potion.``

She seemed to snap out of her learning stupor, stammering out an apology. ``I- I'm sorry to be hogging all the research! U-uhm, let me know if you get tired of my rambling. I just get really excited about this stuff.`` The girl trailed off, shifting in her seat with embarrassment.

"But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."

The group had decided to do the project on the wolfsbane potion, and Mylo was actually quite interested in finding out what made this potion so good and how it worked. They'd found potions so far to be really quite interesting and loved the science behind it, wanting to learn as much as possible.

As they started to look through the books they'd found in the beginning when they 'ran away' Mylo found that he'd mostly picked up general books. Nothing that would really go into depth about the potions themselves or the effects they had on society. Which to be fair, was a good thing to look for as when he was looking they didn't know what they wanted to research yet.

As they skimmed through the last few Victoria offered the group some chocolate, saying something about it increasing intelligence, even though he didn't believe that he couldn't resist the chocolate. One of their favourite sweets when they did decide to have one.

"Uhm, thanks for sharing." They state, grabbing a chocolate with a shy smile. "Also I noticed I grabbed books that were quite broad with the information, I could go and see if there's any books about the impact of the potion on society?"

Elodie had been apparently found a book that seemed to hold a lot of useful information as she began reciting passages from the book. Stating something about not knowing how to brew it, which made Mylo remember something from one of the books they'd grabbed. It was on the actual brewing process of potions, and the wolfsbane potion would probably be included.

Flipping to the index they skim through it searching for the right page. Picking up on the nervous rambling of Elodie, who seemed to be under the impression that they were annoyed or something by her eagerness on the subject.

"Here." He says, turning the page towards the others. "This is the full brewing process for the potion, it's quite detailed. And I also don't mind you doing a lot of research, there's a lot to get through. Is it okay if I go and look for the other books?"

Tori broke the chocolate into equal pieces and gave it to her two friends. She popped her piece into her mouth. Elodie smiled as she started talking about the potion. She thought Elodie was upset that she was talking too much because she was starting to stutter. She smiled and said.

"Don't worry, you didn't get bored. Hmm. Can I watch the making of the potion? Of course, Mylo, but I think you told Elodie."

Again he said the thought that was on his mind. There was no hostility or resentment in this. She reached for the book and looked at it. She noticed that the book in his room in the muggle world also had this flower.

"The aconite plant is also known as leopard's blight, devil's helmet and blue rocket. And at the same time, most muggles use this herb for joint pain. It grows mostly in mountainous areas in America, Europe and Asian countries."

She had learned the information about the plant in the years before looking at the book and while listening to her father's research. She turned to Elodie again with curiosity.

"Does it say in the book who was the first person to use this potion?"

The girl flinched, flipping through the book and slipping a chocolate into her mouth. She closed her eyes for a moment to revel in the sweetness dancing upon her taste buds before shaking herself and answering the question.

``U-um, no. I'm sorry. Oh! But it does say something interesting. There's this excerpt from 2001 that talks about a professor at Hogwarts with lycanthropy who had to take it in secret.`` Her eyes gleamed with fascination.

``Lycanthropes in general are extremely rare at Hogwarts due to the stigma and discrimination surrounding them, so this professor took it in secret.``

Elodie pushed up her glasses, flipping to the next page in her book as her eyes gleamed with excitement. The girl's interest in lycanthropy and other magical conditions had been sparked almost immediately after discovering they existed, and she'd spent hours browsing through books in the library in her free time to learn everything she could about them.

She paused, an idea seeming to spark in her head. Elodie turned excitedly to rummage through her satchel, proudly pulling out a thick, leather-bound book with golden calligraphy across the front that displayed its name.

`Hairy Snout, Human Heart` The girl set the book on the table, turning it so her partners could see. ``This is a firsthand anonymous account of life as a werewolf from someone who actually experienced it!`` She said excitedly.

This was one of Elodie's all-time favorite books. She'd first become hooked while reading a book of wizarding fables, in which a man named Dumbledore (Someone the girl had also studied excessively) describes it as "a heartrending account of one wizard's battle with lycanthropy"

``It could provide some very useful insight into the positive effects Wolfbane's potion has on both the wizarding and werewolf communities.``

"Raven By the Fireplace"
Raven by the fireplace,

You whom bare so much loss. Deliver yourself a message as I speak to you.
You take flight under the rays of the sun yet you repel it with your black feathers. A birdsong is beautiful when it sings yet when you deny the choir, screeching solitude. You’re a raven but live like an owl, forever lost in the pages of the literary trove.

What you lack cannot be gained through ink. What you see is only half the picture. Observing when you don’t talk, perceiving when you don’t know, but open minded all the same. Your heart is open though you remain so sad. You’re silent because you’re scared but you’re kind because you care. You must not remove yourself.

Love isn’t one-sided. You cannot throw it away without throwing some to yourself. To be selfless you must be selfish. Love your “imperfections.” Enjoy the company of your fears. Otherwise forever succumb to your insecurities and hollow yourself out until you’re no more than a withering shell.

Raven by the fireplace, it’s not too late. If you spread your wings to the sun and soar with the doves then all will be saved. Otherwise should you remain in the dark you’ll fade with the morning dew and wither like the ashes of coal.

Make your blemishes beautiful.

As Elodie started to read some more of the book she was getting her information from Mylo quickly scanned the rest of the books they'd brought to the table but not looked at yet. Unfortunately none of them had much information that was of any use and like they'd thought were more on the actual brewing of the potions and not in depth analyses of the effects on society.

As Mylo was reading he heard Elodie state that she'd found a first hand account of the effects of the potion.

"Oh, that could be really quite useful. And a first hand account is so much better than something 'experts' who haven't actually experienced would write. I'll go and have a quick scan to see if I can find any more first hand accounts, I'll also put these other books away that we don't need." He stated, taking most of the books off the table, except of course the ones they were using, and going to put them back on the shelves and to hopefully find at least one more first hand account.

Walking amongst the thousands of books in the library Mylo felt at piece and hoped to come back here more often and see if they had some magical literature they could read. But getting back to the point he walked over to the werewolf section. Scanning the books he found that most of them were about how to identify werewolves and how to get away from them, which surprised them, and like Elodie had mentioned, they really weren't well liked.

Nearly giving up and going back to the table empty handed he spotted a smaller book, it looked older than the rest and seemed to be kind of hidden amongst the other books. Taking it out he read the title; werewolves and society, a history. Inside they found about 4 accounts of werewolves living in the wizarding world, each account completely separate from the last and all of them from different times each with a little date above it. The first one from about the 1879 and the last one from 2004, some written by family members and some written by the werewolves themselves, all of them anonymous.

It was a tremendous find, this would help them compare the treatment and lives of the werewolves through the years which would make their essay have a lot more information. Extremely happy with his find he walked back to the table.

"Hey guys, I found this book. It's first hand accounts from werewolves and their families on how their lives were. The first one was from like 1879 and the last one from 2004. This could have so much good information in it. I hope it's useful." Putting the book on the table for both of the Ravenclaws to look at.
