The Water Fountain We Meet PV Victoria Lena Jones Closed

Tori came into the courtyard. As usual, his bag containing the necessary items was on her back. School started two weeks ago and everything still felt new to her. But she loved magic.

She was observing people as he skipped around the courtyard. Some people were looking at her strangely, but Tori didn't care. She liked to act like herself.

She went to the fountain and before sitting down, she noticed a girl with dark skin and curly brown hair sitting thoughtfully. 'Maybe I can help her' she thought and approached the girl. She spoke in a friendly voice.

"Hello. I saw you from afar. You look thoughtful. Is there a problem? Is there anything I can help with?"

She sat next to the girl. She couldn't fully understand human emotions, but she wanted to help. Maybe she could make friends too. The sound of the fountain sounded like music to the ears.

"My name is Victoria. Victoria Lena Jones. I'm glad. Wait, that wasn't next. Sorry, count that part as I didn't say it. What's your name? Ok now I said it correctly. Right?" She said it by mistake, but it would make her very happy if he saw her smile a little.

It was almost as if someone heeded Asteria’s call. Someone else arrives at the courtyard

A fair-skinned girl with red hair who looked about her age, maybe a bit older? She looked friendly none-the-less.

"My name is Victoria. Victoria Lena Jones.” That was a pretty name, like an old famous queen that ruled the lands of England with an iron fist but also had a heart of gold. Or something of those sorts.

“Hello, Asteria’s my name-” could not have said that more awkwardly, “-I’m not having any issues really. No important ones anyway.”

There were many things Asteria would do, and many she’d rather keep in the dirt. Such as example A: admitting she’s having trouble finding friends. “Your name is very pretty though, I think. Wish mine was that pretty.. Aha”

“Anyway, what brings you out to the fountain? Are you planning on mediating or something?” Asteria asks, though it came out a little ruder than what she originally wanted, "Or do you like spending your free time searching for people to help in their troubles?”

It’d be a weird hobby to have, looking out for the ones who seek help, but it was a good one. And it already makes them better than Asteria who would rather nap any moment she got. “This is gonna sound weird, but how do you make friends exactly? No advice, just what would you do?”

"Thank you, but actually your name has a very beautiful meaning. It means star in Greek and is a goddess representing the fields of Divination, Wisdom, Astrology and Necromancy in Greek. Nice too meet you."

Smiling and in a friendly voice, he told the meaning of the girl's name. She had plenty of time since she wasn't going into town. That's why she was researching new things. One of these was the meaning of some names.

"What does mediator mean? And why does a person look for someone to help with his problems in his/her free time? I don't understand"

She asked curiously. She realized that she really couldn't understand some people. She hadn't had any friends outside of school, so she still couldn't understand some people. When the girl spoke again, she thought about the friends he had made over the past two weeks.

"Hmm. Actually, I think you need to move things along with their flow and be yourself. So, no matter what you are, always be yourself. So that's how I made friends."

She smiled and extended her hand. "If you want, we can be friends too. If you want of course. Wait, both sentences come to the same thing."

Asteria’s eyes widen at the sudden fun fact about her name. She didn’t know it had such a meaning, It honestly shocked her. “I didn’t know what was the meaning behind my name, thank you for telling me.” Asteria blushed in embarrassment. Asteria knew a lot of things, and hated being incorrect. The fact that she didn’t know about her own name puts her at shame,

"What does mediator mean? And why does a person look for someone to help with his problems in his/her free time? I don't understand.” Asteria smiled, now she can be the teacher. “Mediator is a peace keeper. And it really has nothing to do with someone’s free time at all, I was just trying to make a joke.” Asteria looks away, “I’m not very good at making sure people understand the two, apologies on my behalf.”

After Asteria asked her, odd question, the girl answered "Hmm. Actually, I think you need to move things along with their flow and be yourself. So, no matter what you are, always be yourself. So that's how I made friends." That was something Asteria hadn't thought about. Going with the flow was the most obvious thing ever and here is Asteria going right over it.

But then Victoria spoke once more, extending her hand out to Asteria, "If you want, we can be friends too. If you want of course. Wait, both sentences come to the same thing."

It made Asteria laugh and smile. It brought a warm feeling to her chest, “if you want to, I suppose.”

"Your welcome. Many names have interesting meanings like that."

She could make such an inference because she had a lot of time to research them. It was very interesting that people gave these names without knowing their meaning. In particular, she noticed that she was using meanings from Greek.

"It doesn't matter. Thank you for explaining your meaning, by the way. I still have difficulties with some friendship issues."

It was a terrible thing to admit that you were still new to this. She had talked to a few people since she got here. She was filled with joy when he accepted the friendship offer. Her hair turned blonde. This showed that she was cheerful.

"So we are friends now, right?"

She asked just to be sure. She realized that she wanted to know a little more about her new friend. She started listing the questions in her mind without even thinking. Most of the time she said things that were on her mind without thinking.

"What is your House? Your house beatiful? Whats your hobbies? Do you have a pet? Do you like a chocolate? Do you want? I have it with me if you want. But since I still can't get used to wizard chocolates, there is muggle chocolate."

The many questions Victoria asks catches Asteria in a daze, but she is determined to answer all to her best ability.

“What is your House?” Already off with a simple and easy question, “Gryffindor,” Asteria, confidently, says.

“Your house beautiful?” This one was a bit confusing to Asteria who was still thinking of Hogwarts Houses. After thinking a little bit more, Asteria scratched Hogwarts House off the list. “My house over in Scotland? I’d like to think it is, my mom wanted to keep it similar, decor wise, to our old house in Egypt. Before finding out I was a witch I lived over there, I think that’s pretty neat. At least to me.” This was already a big step for Asteria as she likes to refrain from talking about herself. But if she were to really consider Victoria as a friend, opening up is the first part of that.

“What’s your hobbies?” Asteria paused once more to dwell on the question. She was very basic, like a loser basic. “Would reading count..?”

“Do you have a pet?”
“No I don’t, my cousin would like me to get matching owls with her though so I’m saving up for that. Outside of Hogwarts I have cats and a dog, though.”

“Do you like chocolate? Do you want? I have it with me if you want. But since I still can’t get used to wizard chocolate, there is muggle chocolate.” Lots to unpack here.

“I do like chocolate! I didn’t know there was such a thing as wizard chocolate,” The more you know. ‘If it doesn’t bother you much then sure I’d like some, uh, muggle chocolate.”

Asteria was already learning so much from Victoria already, and now it’s time for Asteria to ask questions. Not too personal but base level questions.

“I’ll start off with the basics, what's your House? How did you find out you were a witch?” Very surface level questions. “And um, one fun fact about yourself.”

She listened to Asteria curiously. She didn't know much about the houses, but she had heard that Gryffindors were brave.

"Yes. Most people don't like to read, but some love them to the point of being addicted to books. What kind of books do you like to read?"

Smiling, she took the muggle chocolate out of her bag and handed it to Asteria. The wizard still wasn't used to her chocolates, but she still took some with her. While eating her own chocolate, she started to think.

"Ravenclaw My mother said I could adapt there very quickly. I learned this when I spilled fruit juice on my favorite dress when I was little and all the plates broke. This is a normal, even a bit boring way of learning, I know. A fun fact about myself is that I can change my appearance as I wish."

She closed her eyes and grimaced to prove it to Asteria. Her hair was now light pink. When she grimaced again, her hair returned to normal. She thought that this way Asteria would believe him. She thought he might be Muggle-born or half-blood.

"So, any fun facts about you? I think there is." She asked curiously
