The Lost Rebellion
❀ Prologue ❀
One week before
The only light in the dark room was a very small pale white waxy candle flickering, its scarce heat barely filled a yard or two. Seven men and three women, bowing their heads, stood around in a very ragged circle with some unusual large gaps.
"We shall make a prophesy, to rescue the ones who had been taken by the shadows," the smallest man rasped, standing on a creaky wooden chair that was half-broken, addressing the ragged circle. The man was the eldest though he was very much the shortest, about four feet four, the average height of a mere eight year old.
"Who should the prophecy point to, my dear lord?" A young woman suddenly spoke, lifting her head an inch or two, to nod at the short old man. The old man merely glared at the young woman. The young woman let out a low mumble, probably, Oops, I'm sorry, master, and knelt down on one knee.
A young woman around the age of sixteen spoke to a young man besides her, "Benji.. You should be it, not him," she nudged him with her elbow. Either the young man simple ignored the young woman to not disrespect his master or he did not hear the low whisper.
"I shall reach out to our ancestors, the Great Rebels," the short man rasped, not answering the other young women's question.
"Good night," the man said pointedly, and grunted as he jumped off the chair, wobbling when on the floor. The young women who was kneeling instantly grabbed the man's arm and make sure he didn't fall.
"Take your arm off of me, Mayla, do it now. I'm just 46, stop rubbing it in about how young you are," the man glared, his words harsh and cruel. "I'm sorry, master," Mayla cried, her voice soft and high-pitched, her eyes watering, she stood up and ran away, weeping.
"Well, that's a way to get rid of a women who wants you," he laughed maniacally. "Now, all of you, git! Out! I need quiet, you all know that," the man added, shooing them with his very much so scarred hands.
The two women and six men walked out, after bowing to their master. When they left the master beamed, he was lucky for all these people doing his bidding and he wanted to do, he sat down criss cross applesauce and in a low mumur he spoke, "Ommm. Omm. Ommm...."
❀ ❀ ❀
The room was darker when two women and six men walked in, bowing in unison when they walked in. Mayla followed shortly after, her face all red and blotchy from crying. She walked all the way to where her master was sitting and knelt down, kissed the ground by his feet twice, a custody by the cruel man. In a low whisper she said, "Dear great lord, I am very truly sorry about what happened earlier, please forgive me, O great lord."
The man simply watched as Mayla reached for the man's scarred hand, kissed the palm, and then kissed the man's papery cheek as one of her master's mean and unfair custodies and rules. "I suppose you are forgiven, but please don't do that again, I'm not that old," the man said, his eyebrows curling.
"Oh, yes, thank you, master," Mayla said and did the last thing she was to do to ask for forgiveness; kiss his other cheek. "Much better; help me stand up," the man rasped. Mayla took the man's hands, feeling the hard rough scabs on her smooth fair pale hands and hauled the short man up, her eyes scared and small.
"Now the prophesy," The short man said, when he took a couple of minutes to bring him up on the chair that was taller than him.
❝Shadows hidden everywhere, they eat us before he even see them, to survive, we must do what The Great Rebels have told us to do.
One special girl will save us if we can get to her before her memory runs out. Hair as golden as the beautiful sunset, eyes as green as bold nature, and skin as light as the soft sand.
Eden is her name, just simply find her and she'll help, if you get there before her memory goes out.
One week from now, find her, and rescue the fallen and yourselves. If her memory disappears before you get to her, then believe all will be lost forever.
So,
will they save the world with some very unexpectedly help or will they be lost in the shadows forever?
This is what our ancestors has told me. Benji and Marie," the man set his gaze on Maria and Benji, "in one week's time you will go find her, and shall res-" the man cut off. His eyes was wide and scared. "Master!" Mayla screeched as she and the man consumed by the shadow.
"What are we to do now?" Benji asked, his face white with fear.
"You and Marie will go as he said, this meeting is over. Scatter before anyone else is lost!" The next oldest said who had a large deep voice, his face too white with fear, raced away from the hide-out, his large muscles blustering.
The rest of the Rebels pelted after him, faces white in fear as the shadow took a women in her mid-twenties and two men each identical and twenty years old who all stood in shock as two of their gang disappeared, their screeches lost in the wind. That day they took four more rebels.
Will they be lost in the shadows forever? This saying still rings in the living Great Rebels today, and has to be solved.

The Lost Rebellion
❀Chapter One❀
❀ ❝Come on," the young man hissed, his neck hair rising.
"I am coming," another voice sounded in the gloomy night. It was female and loud. "Shut up, Marie!" The young man snarled, his face red in the oily light from the half-way broken streetlight. Marie glared; shut her mouth, her her jaw stiff. The young man's eyebrows narrowed as he walked on, slipping through the still night.
"Why do we have to do this?" Marie whispered, "we're the youngest! Shouldn't the oldest do this?" Marie complained when she reached the young man; placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Shh, she'll be most likely to accept us," the man softly said, taking Marie's hand and cradling her soft face with his and her own. He looked directly in her soft, pretty green eyes. Do I love her? Or not? She's so pretty, but we gotta go to Eden before she loses her mermory, the man thought, his jawline stiffed.
"Now, lets go before she loses it," he said, brisk and rough, as he dropped Marie's hand, his soft glow in his obsian pools vanished and walked stiffy ahead. Maria scoffed, missing the good side of the man, and walked closer to him. She brushed her hand purposely on his when the man looked away. Marie swiftly grasped his, grinning softly, gripped it to make sure he'll like holding hands again.
"Marie, what are you doing?!" The man snarled, clearing angry with Marie, "Get your hand off mine. We're on serious business, she could be losing her memory right now and we can't save her, got it? Now shut up, and lets hurry now," spit flew over Marie's face but she didn't mind, just two weeks ago the pair were making out in this same place; her eyes just held a soft sad glow, she knew what was to happen.
"Benji.." she softly said, just enough to get Benji to come back.. But he didn't, she glared and crossed her arms. She wanted to feel his soft warm feel and smell his crisp warm scent, she wanted lean her head in his warm shirt and tell all what had gone wrong. It wasn't happening.
He wasn't the boy she knew yesterday. He wasn't little (or he was) Benji anymore. He wasn't her laidback steady boyfriend anymore. It was hard core Benjamin who was now quietly and quickly walking away from her now. How could she ever deal with this sad loss?
Benji is lost; how can anyone save this dreaded world now from entering shadows? Marie saw a shadowy figure. She screeched. It had consumed her.
Benjamin looked behind him, he saw the whole thing. His jaw dropped. "Marie!" He screamed, doubling back, he held up his hand like a blind man, to feel if Marie was there. "MARIE!" He sagged on his knees, his knees hitting the floor. "Who is gonna save us now? How is Eden gonna save us now without you...." He cried, asking himself if he could go back in time.
What he didn't notice a pretty girl was right behind him, her dark brown eyebrows in a questionable state, watching him. "Marie! Save me!" He yelled to the universe, his fists shaking.
"Um, hello," the girl behind him starting speaking, "how do you know my na-" The girl cut off screeching, as the man turned around swiftly. Her irises fell to the back of her head, power zipping through, her blood turned to ice. She had lost her memory. She fainted as well, her eyes stayed at the back of her head.
"How can the world be saved now?" Benjamin softy said, tears running down his dark face. He knew he and Marie didn't get to Eden in time. The world was doomed.
Who was to save them now? Who? ❀
The Lost Rebellion
❀Chapter Two❀Present, September 23, 2067, in LA, CaliThe girl groaned as her eyelids fluttered, trying to sit up, but the numbness of her legs kept her down. Eden looked around, her vision blurry and fuzzy.
Slowly, Eden regained her vision and saw a young man stirring something in a black coal pot on top of a oily flickering fire. She looked around. Where was she? And who was she?
A few more men, older than the young man, were bowing their heads. They looked stressed and by the look on every single man was a face of undeniable fear.
“Hello?” Eden called out weakly, her brunette hair slick with sweat. Abruptly, one of men’s head jerked up, his striking gaze pierced her skin. That man’s eyes were different colors. One was a vivid purple and the other was a deep cold white. There were fire flaming in his eyes. Eden screeched, looking at the man with fear in her violet eyes.
“Aella! How many times have I told you not to do that?” The young man who was stirring in a black foal pot had raced over to the man who had two different eye colors and slapped him hard in the head. Ooff... Eden thought as the man fell to the ground, his eyes lolling around in his head.
The other men stood in shock of the young man as if he'd never slapped the older man in the head. “Benjamin, why would you do that?” Another man spoke calmly. “Oh, um, I'm sorry, I’m still jumpy from losing Marie.”
“So you say...” The man spoke, this time accusing, staring at Eden. Eden tried to stand up but she groaned. The young man hurried towards her and touched her forehead. Soon her brain came around. Without warning, Eden instantly tore her forehead away, trying to snap at the man, “Get away!”
Eden pushed off her hands hard on the squishy bed and scurried away from the man when she fell on the floor. “Don’t touch me until I get answers.”
The man nodded, saying, “Ok.” “Now,” Eden threatened the man firmly. “Where am I? Who am I? Why am I here? How did I get here? When did I come here? WHO are you?”Eden let off fps string of questions.
“You are Eden, prophesied to help us rescue our friends, and you lost your memory so I brought you here. You came here about yesterday, unconscious. And I'm Benjamin. Benjamin Kade. I’m a Great Rebel,” He spoke this proudly.
“Well, what happened to my memory?!!” Eden oubursted, sadness glimmering in her violet eyes, tears brimming. She slumped down the wall, placing her head in her knees, her dedicate fingers combing her slicky sweaty brunette hair.
