Lost Book!

Come on, come on! Calm down and ask someone if they saw your book! Or ask someone to lend you their book! Elisa thought. She had been searching for her Standard Book of Spells for a full twenty minutes already, and she had ten minutes until her next class.
Oh! I haven't searched in the second floor yet! And that was the place I last used my book! As she thought of that, Elisa hurried down the staircase, blaming herself for not realising that earlier. It would have saved her another ten minutes. As she sighed, she wasn't paying attention to what was under her feet. Elisa tripped on a step, and her bursting, book filled bag toppled down the staircase, spilling out all the items it had carried.
"Merlin's beard, no!", Elisa cried out loud as she stood up and brushed the dust off her robes. She hurried down the stairs to collect her fallen out books, ignoring a stabbing pain in her left knee. Just a bruise... Elisa thought, sweeping her messy hair out of her sweaty face. She knelt down to pick up all her fallen books, stuffing them back into her bag.
Elisa was hurrying along a corridor, robes and hair flying behind her as she half walked, half ran. Her face was flushed red, her heart beating madly inside her chest, sweat pouring onto her face.

Lost Book!

Elisa quickly straightened up, looked around, and saw a student her age standing right besides her. Was she already there when my bag fell? Elisa wondered. Her eyes turned to see the person carrying in their arms one of the books that had spilled out onto the ground. She felt herself slightly go red in the face as she grinned sheepishly.
"Thanks." Elisa took the book from the fellow student's hands. Realising they had asked her a question, she quickly added, "Of course, I'm fine! I was just in a bit of a hurry to find my Charms book. I lost it somewhere, I think."
Elisa checked her watch. 5 minutes! I really gotta go if I want to find my book before next class! She glanced up at student. "Thanks for helping, but I really have to go on searching." She added as an after thought, "Class is starting in about five minutes"
Elisa bent down to pick up the remaining books littered on the floor. She didn't want anyone stepping on her newly bought books, did she? Arms full, she tried to stuff all of them at once in her bag, only to find that they didn't fit. She groaned. Elisa put down half of the pack, and put the other half in her bag.
She looked up and saw the other student still watching her. She flushed. Why am I always embarrassing myself in front of others?

With a final tug and push, Elisa finally managed to squeeze in all her books into her now very tight bag. She wiped sweat off her forehead.
"Oh, thank you! I'd gladly accept help!" Elisa answered, pretty much relieved she had someone to help her. "Last time I saw it... Let's see. Yesterday night, I packed my bag and I most certainly put my Charms book in there. And then..." Elisa squinted her eyes, "And then I went to all the morning classes. I didn't take the Charms book out, because I don't have Charms in the morning. And after lunch..."
Elisa couldn't remember. Her brain was buzzing, her thoughts were tired. She leaned back onto the cool stone wall. She closed her eyes. She wasn't aware anymore of the student standing there, watching her. She could only feel the coolness of the ancient walls cooling down her body, cooling down her mind. She could think clearly now. But she didn't really want to think .
What? I'll just tell the professor I forgot my book. Big deal.
She reopened her eyes. The student was still standing there.
"Thanks for offering to help, but I think I'll just tell the teacher I forgot it. No big deal. After all, I have searched the whole castle for it already." She grinned, more to herself than to anybody else. She had managed to become calm.
