Reviewing the year's work so far for Potions had been the most tedious, between researching every individual ingredient she had to use, to preparing methods, all the way to the effects of the final products themselves. Now that May had arrived it was the final stretch before the end of year exams. Emily found out pretty early on in school that she was one to get frazzled for tests despite her intellect. She wasn't a child genius by any means of the term but she was more than capable. That nevertheless didn't stop the fact that she was insecure about herself and as a result carried a lot of performance anxiety.

She was now in her final few Potions lessons before they would break off for the exam period. Emily tried to reassure herself as she made her way to class that her homework marks had been good and that her performance in her exams would be a true reflection of that. However with her head in the clouds she wouldn't have long before she'd be starting to run late to class. She picked up walking speed and made it to the basements where she walked in with minutes to spare before class started.

The class had filled up already now that the class was due to start any second. Emily couldn't see anyone she recognised until...

She made her way across the classroom and sat down beside a familiar Slytherin student. She smiled friendly as she started getting her books out.

"You don't mind if I take this spot, do you?" She asked softly.
