EmmaLee giggled as Kaya called it "French school", but it was not meant in a mean way, just an amused way. "My parents went to Beauxbatons and I was raised in France until I was eight, but then my mother married my Papa Victor and, at the time, he lived and worked mainly in America, so we followed 'im 'ere." EmmaLee explained brightly. She had been so angry with the repeated transition before, but she was beginning to settle into and feel better about her transient life. It had presented so much more opportunity to her than a tiny muggle town in the southwest of France would have. Not that she didn't love that little town and all the people in it still. "Papa Victor's work took 'im to Glasgow and so we followed and I was admitted to 'Ogwarts. I probably could 'ave still gone to Ilvermorny, but Maman wouldn't give me the option." She said, trying to remain perky but she couldn't hide a frustrated frown. It still remained one of the biggest fights she and her mother had ever had, the day she got her Hogwarts letter, and she was still a little upset that she hadn't even been given the option.

"We still write a bunch and spend a lot of our summer vacations together, so it isn't that big of a deal." Alura said, turning from the window to join in on the conversation as Grace walked over.

"Granted though, she does usually go to the Hogwarts summer camp. Alura's and my parents won't let us go to camp because Alura's family always has grand travel plans and my family always spends a month in Mexico with my mother's family." Grace explained, still not getting too close to the windows.

Kaya smiled, curious and astonished by her new friend's story. Oh I see. Did you like France more? I like traveling, but I didn't visit France yet. Probably gonna do it soon. This question was more about advising which places she'd need to see and country itself. Kaya still stayed simply curious. She was starting to think about learning French, but she wasn't sure when she'd do it. There were already much of what she knew and about same much what she planned to learn.

That could be quite interesting, but you know, Hogwarts also seems to be nice. Not during the balls though, but Kaya thought it was more fun other times. She adored Ilvermorny, but they didn't have other schools coming to them, so not as much fun. However, she could understand the inability to choose which school to attend. They all depended on first instance of magic.

Listening to Alura and Grace Kaya smiled. I almost can relate. Though I went for summer camp this year. But August is quite busy. I think I might not go there next year, but I don't know yet. Kaya paused, looking at the view in front of her, and turned to girls. What do we have next? She liked standing here. However, Kaya doubted this was their final destination before they would eventually turn to go back.

EmmaLee pondered the question for a moment. It probably wasn't a question of did she like France more. America and France and even Scotland were too different to really discuss whether she liked one more than the other. Her life in America and Scotland were also different worlds from her life in France. In France she had lived a mostly muggle life except for the times her mother could get away with magic behind closed doors and once they had joined Victor and entered magic society again, it was an entirely different experience. So comparing the two seemed unfair to EmmaLee.

"Well... I certainly liked it longer." She said with a small giggle. "I think I feel nostalgic about it, like a lot of people feel about their childhoods." She smiled widely and clapped her hands together. "Maybe we can go together one day and I can give you a real tour of France. The Bay of Biscay and the countryside of Southern France really are must sees." She suggested at Kaya's want to go some day. Most people always asked about Paris and the major cities, but EmmaLee knew very little of those. She hadn't been to Paris since her father died and her mother generally kept them out of bigger cities for more than a day or two. "One of my favorite things to do is sailing." She said, lifting her face up to an invisible breeze. "The sea air around the French coasts is particularly refreshing. It just isn't the same in New York and Scotland."

At Kaya's question about other destinations, EmmaLee pulled her silver pocket watch out of her pocket. The front of it had a blue morpho butterfly on the top that flapped its wings. Any non-magique person who caught this usually commented of her cool holographic watch so she wasn't to concerned about hiding it. "It is about time to catch the subway to the ferry to Liberty Island, where the Statue of Liberty is." She confirmed, then started towards the elevator. "We should make it to the station from here just in time to catch it." She smiled widely as she pushed the button to call the elevator. "Then it will probably be time for us all to get back."

Kaya smiled at the idea. It certainly would be excellent to travel together, especially since EmmaLee definitely knew more about France than Kaya did. That would be awesome. You could show me more places that are nice. I'm not really interested in Paris, though. I want to see other parts of France.

Sailing? I never tried sailing, but it sounds rather interesting. Kaya replied intrigued now by this information. There were so much things she never tried or even heard about. Kaya noticed watches on EmmaLee's hand and thought it was cute and fancy. Hers stayed at home and were with planets. Although she doubted it could be fine using them in muggle world, so Kaya was happy she didn't wear them now.

It sounds like a great plan. Kaya said, already thinking how great it will be. She expected it to be a wonderful experience. The one she could have lots of good memories from. It would most likely feel a bit sad when this small trip would finish and they would go back. However, right at the moment it didn't matter. Now she could still enjoy the time with her friends. Later, Kaya thought, she could share it with her bestie.

EmmaLee giggled in excitement at the prospect of visiting France with her new friend. "Ah. Paris is interesting, but it is just another city." She said with a nonchalant wave of her hand as they entered the elevator and began the decent down to the ground level. What a thing to say considering she'd never been there, but it was what her mother always said. All cities are mostly the same. There are cool sites to see, things to learn. places to visit, but there is much to be explored in the countryside.

Once on ground level, the four girls made their way to the subway station once again and caught the subway to catch the ferry to the island where the Statue of Liberty stood. EmmaLee, Grace, and Alura took off towards the front of the boat and giggled as the damp air caressed their faces and the grand lady came into view. EmmaLee covered her mouth with both hands in a wild giggle.

"I feel more excited about this than anything and I don't really know why." She said with a wide smile to all of her friends. "Maybe it's just fun to get out of our comfort zone, yes?" Alura and Grace nodded in agreement and giggled as well as the boat docked and they were allowed to explore the island.

Alura called out a race to the top and EmmaLee and Grace followed at speed, with EmmaLee checking to make sure that Kaya was following her and she was close by and not separated from the group. She knew the girl was athletic and could keep up with them, but it was always easy to get separated from one another in a crowd.

Kaya giggled enthusiastically, imagining how great it will be to travel to France with her new friend, who also definitely knew about the country more than Kaya did.

As they were in the boat, Kaya moved to the front with girls and felt the type of excitement she didn't experience before. This felt even better than the view they saw just some time ago. By some reason it feels more fascinating.

As they started to race after arriving at the island, Kaya ran quickly, easily keeping up with girls and even not been the last one. However, at the same time she kept the girls in her sight so she wouldn't lose them in the crowd.

Kaya knew their journey was closing to the end, but she was enjoying it extremely much. Maybe some time in the future they could have fun together again. Or perhaps she could arrange some fun with her bestie or new friend, but now wasn't the time to think about it. So, Kaya focused her attention on the island where they currently were standing. It feels so great with racing and this view. She chuckled as she took out the water and drank some of it. She still had some sweets from earlier, but she decided to keep them until they will turn to go back.

As the girls reached the top, Alura, Kaya, EmmaLee, then Grace, panting and giggling at their exhilarating race, EmmaLee put her hands on her knees to breathe and then took out her own water to drink as Kaya took out hers. Alura and Grace caught their own breaths and followed suit on the water drinking, having gotten their own bottles of water on their journey between lunch and here.

There was always something about running that filled EmmaLee with an almost crazy amount of joy. She felt like the burst of speed would rush in through her mouth and fill her with an almost light that made her want to run and move even more, like there mere act of moving that fast filled her with more energy to move faster. She felt that way when dueling and playing quodpot, too.

Once the girls had their breath, EmmaLee, and Alura moved over to the windows lining the crown of the great lady. Once again, Grace hung back from the windows, but happily looked out at the stunning view

Somewhere nearby, a tour guide spoke of the history of the statue: how it was a gift from France to America to celebrate 100 years, though it wasn't finished and dedicated until 1886, how it was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and the metal framework was built by the same person who built the Eiffel Tower, how it was agreed that France would build the statue and the United States would build the pedestal, and how the head was premiered at the Paris World's Fair in 1878, how the torch of the statue was displayed first at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia in 1876, and then in Madison Square Park from 1876 to 1882, along with other facts about the statue. After a moment, Grace wandered over to actively listen to the full program, while Alura and EmmaLee continued to view the skyline from various points and listen peripherally. Since the room was so small, and the tour guide was so loud in order to be heard, it was impossible to not hear at least some of the facts he presented.

While EmmaLee found the facts fascinating, she was more interested in seeing all of the view that she could. "I'm very, very glad we decided to do this." She said generally to Kaya and Alura, who nodded excitedly in agreement. "I think I will remember this for all my life. Both views are so beautiful and this 'as been a wonderful adventure." She said with a giggle and a wide smile.

Kaya found herself once again extremely excited about the view. And, although she wasn't fascinated about history generally, she still adored some parts of it. As they were enjoying the view and listening to a tour guide, Kaya smiled hearing her new friend's words.

I agree. I think we should definitely do something like this again in the future, what do you think? Everything about this journey was incredibly beautiful. And what Kaya liked even more, was the fact of having adventure and spending time with friends: she got to spend more time with Alura and Grace and she got a friend from Hogwarts.

As she finished half of her water, she looked happily around. Do any of you have something we could take photo on? It would be great to have a photo of us as a memory about this wonderful day. She looked at the girls, hoping that at least one of them had camera or other way to have them all together on something. Maybe as a drawing at least.

However, that was fine even if no. Kaya would just draw them all at home with one of these wonderful views and then have drawings owled. The day was going in unexpectedly awesome way and Kaya didn't want it too finish. Do we all still have sweets we bought for this walking? If we still have some time, we could sit somewhere and eat it together. What do you think?

As Kaya asked about taking a photo, Grace came over and pulled out a cell phone. It was one of the latest android models with a thick cover that had a picture of a black horse running through a field of wild, yellow daisies on the back. "I can take a picture and have it printed for each of us." Grace said with a wide smile. Once she had said this, an older girl, who looked to be college aged with long brown hair and a small, blue backpack, offered to take the picture for them.

"Yes, Thank you." EmmaLee, Grace, and Alura said together as Grace set up her phone, handed it to the girl, and came over to stand with her friends. The college girl instructed them to stand next to each other and the girls wrapped their arms around each other and Kaya and smiled widely.

"Smile!" The college girl said as she took a couple of pictures of the girls, then handed Grace back her phone with a smile and a wave as she walked away and back down the stairs. Grace giggled and smiled as she showed the group the pictures.

"The copies won't move like your kind of photos," She said to Alura and Kaya in a conspiratorial kind of whisper. "but they are nice to have all the same."

EmmaLee nodded and then Alura giggled as Kaya asked about their candy.

"I actually ate all mine before we got to the Empire State Building." She said with a cheeky grin and a ruffle of her red hair. Grace wrinkled her nose at her friend.

"At least you ate first this time." She said, teasing. EmmaLee looked at her watch again.

"We do actually need to go, but the train will be almost an hour this time, so those of us who still have candy" She gave her own teasing look to Alura who laughed. "can eat it then." She said, putting the watch in her pocket and leading the way back down the stairs to the boat awaiting them.

Kaya smiled happily when Grace replied, ready to take a photo. As college girl photographed the four girls, Kaya felt so excited. Oh that's fine. I just hoped to have something as a memory about this awesome journey with you all. So even if it's not moving, that's still perfect, thank you!

Kaya really didn't care if photo would be moving or not, and what she didn't add, was that it would be even more special since it'll be her first non-maj photo. What could be better than that? She giggled when Alura said she ate all candies already. Perhaps, it was the best choice, as there was possibility that sweets could melt, but Kaya was sure it was fine still.

That sounds great. She chuckled at teasing. As she once again thought about the photo, she moved with EmmaLee and girls on their way back.

The photo was perfect and incredibly special. The four friends, and view behind them. She knew she would remember this day for a long time.

When they would be in the train, Kaya would eat sweets and finish her water. She didn't want this journey to finish, but she knew they needed to go back. Maybe some time later they could have some journey together again. Until then, she was going to try to stay in touch especially with EmmaLee. Since Alura and Grace were with her in Ilvermorny, it was going to be easier to keep friendship. However, Kaya was sure that she and EmmaLee didn't see each other last time.
