Lets Play Dreidel

Students were instructed to sit down at any one of the tables. On the table was a set of instructions for the group and a single dreidel. "Okay, let's begin, shall we?" Hjørdis walked up to the group, observing the children that were on there, "You'll all be given some gelt - otherwise known as these chocolate coins - and you have to follow the instructions there." She paused to point towards the set of instructions that they could refer to if they got confused, "Roll the dreidel and then match the symbol on it to the action." She explained, as the dreidel had four different Hebrew letters on it.
She gave each player their gelt, not quite trusting them to not eat them all if she left it on the table for them in the first place. "If you run out of pieces, you are out. When one person has won everything, the game will end. The winner will get to keep the gelt," Hjørdis explained, showing them all a chocolate coin when she said 'gelt' to make sure they knew what she meant because sometimes, children had to be told twice. The winner got chocolate.
"If you need anything, I'm around." With that, Hjørdis moved on to the next group and stayed in the room, watching everyone get started with the game.

- Each player can only post once between moderator posts, rolling the dreidel and interacting with the group. The moderator will give you the results of your dice roll at the end of the round, once each member of the group has posted.
- Please owl or DM me on discord once your whole group has posted, in case I miss it.
- I will be rolling these on our HiO Discord Server. You may look there for proof of rolls or owl me if you wish to be provided with proof.
- If you complete a game whilst the signs up are still open, you may sign up for another game.
- No posting order for the first round. Ideally, stick to the posting order thereafter though. This isn't essential but it would be preferred.

You may begin the game by rolling the dreidel. Anyone may start the game.

Lets Play Dreidel
This would be Koko’s seventh time playing the dreidel game. Of course, she’d only played it once a year in primary school, so she didn’t remember the rules at all and was pleased to have a review. Koko took a glance around her. No one had rolled the dreidel yet. At least, not in her group. She’d have to be the brave one. Putting the last gelt (which happened to be hers) in the pot, she then rubbed her fingers along the dreidel’s stem, as she thought of it. Gimel, she wished. Smiling wickedly, she spun the small toy with master speed and motivation. After all, the winner got chocolate.

Lets Play Dreidel
When Artus heard of the "Dreidel Game" Event, he was unsure, whether or not he should join. After all he wasen't that interested in chocolate, but it was a nice way to socialize a bit, so he ended up signing up regardless. First there was a tiny explanation by Ms. Jensen, for which he was grateful, as he didn't know the rules prior to that. He was the first to put his gelt in the pot, so he used the opportunity to look around a bit. The Great Hall was filled with students playing the game and laughing was heard here and there. Well, this could be fun he thought to himself. When he turned back to his group, he wanted to take the dreidel, but the girl besides him, Koko if he remembered correctly, already picked up the dreidel. "Good luck everyone." he said whilst the dreidel spun. When it stopped to spin, it was his turn. At first he picked it up and looked at it a bit, because it was a unique toy. Finally finished, he prepared to spin as well. He wasen't sure what he would spin. When it came to having luck...well, he could give a guaranty about his failure. Without even noticing it, he smiled whilst having those thoughts. "Here I go then." he said when he began to spin the dreidel.

Lets Play Dreidel
Sonya had played the dreidel game a couple times a while back. It had been a while though so she was glad to have a little refresher of the rules before playing again. At the table of her game there were three other students. She had never talked to any of them before so Sonya was looking forward to meeting new people. She didn't even recognize two of the students, who were Slytherin, but she recognized the Hufflepuff boy. She remembered his name was Miko. The boy beside her took his turn and then it was Sonya's turn. It was awful quiet, nobody had tried to make any conversation. "Here it goes," she grinned. She then spun the toy quickly, hoping for some luck.

Lets Play Dreidel
Miko grinned, extremely happy about playing the game. It had been a while since he'd played dreidel and it was really competitive and fun to play. He looked at the other players which had all finished their turn the dreidel came to him and he spun it. The dreidel was spinning for a bit while he crossed his fingers. Gimel gimel gimel he thought. That was the best one to land on because you just won the game pretty much so you get the holy reward. Chocolate! Chocolate was awesome, also why he normally ate loads of chocolate frogs. The Hufflepuff waved at the other players for good luck to them.
We could get killed! Or worse, EXPELLED

Lets Play Dreidel
She couldn't help but let a triumphant half-smile spread across her face. Oh, I have to spin now, don't I? Koko reached for the toy, which had thus far been fairly kind to her, and she twisted her fingers to set it spinning like a ballerina. She thought for a moment about making a tutu for it, but then shoved that thought aside. It would just make her seem ridiculous.
Koko leaned to the side as the dreidel spun. Placing her hand on the ground, she tried to look fairly indifferent, when really her competitive spirit was aching for all the chocolate--and so we're her taste buds; it was her favorite food. She finally scooted out of the way so that the next person could take their turn.

Lets Play Dreidel
Shin was Artus result. Though he didn't show it, he was close to giggling. Bad luck indeed...guessed so, was written clearly in his head. Since the rest of the round wasen't to good either he assumed that luck left the table. Before he could resume his thoughts the dreidel had been spun again, but that aside he felt uncomfortable with this quiet atmosphere. Whilst he was taking the dreidel, he tried to figure out what to say. His eyes observed the dreidel, since he had nothing else to do. Four sides and only one can enable your win the game. A game of pure chance, whilst still being simple and easy to understand... "What do you think of this game? After all you need an enormous amount of luck to win." Saying something amongst this silent surrounding felt strange. Once this feeling appeared, he wanted to take attention away from himself. Thus, he spun the dreidel for a second time. Since another Shin would be hilarious, his hopes were rooting for anything else. More important for him would be the answer to his question. So he waited patiently, however Gimel would be to his liking aswell.
