A Journalist Finds His Girl

Approaching @AngelFyre McCubbin to ask about her Summer plans
With a deadline approaching quickly, Simon had to hurry and get some information from some of his fellow students for his upcoming article for The Hogwarts Headliner. And, as always, he liked to get the input of a very special student at Hogwarts. It wasn't just favoritism, but she had some of the most keen insight out of anyone within the halls of the school and it only made good sense to include her as much as possible. She'd be coming up the stairs from her Potions class any moment.
"Headliner, Headliner, get mentioned in The Hogwarts Headliner," Simon's voice rang through the corridor almost like he was a vendor selling peanuts at a ballgame. "Know your Summer plans already? Wish to share them? I'm your guy!"
After having sat out the last Headliner edition, this writer was ready to get back in full-force but to make that happened, he had to have some of the students of Hogwarts to volunteer. It was never too early to think about Summer plans as they were right around the corner. He hoped that mentioning some in his article, he might get some thinking about their plans.
He watched as some students walked on by but there seemed to be one that perhaps hesitated. Were they wishing to share? Was that her? Yes, he knew her anywhere. He hurried through the sea of students, careful not to bump into them, and caught up with her. "Simon Kincaid with The Hogwarts Headliner. Would you like to share your upcoming Summer plans and perhaps be mentioned in the upcoming edition?" and he smiled that charming Simon smile of his; hopeful.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

A Journalist Finds His Girl
AngelFyre's Potions class had just ended and she was happily making her way up from the dreary Basements and into the color and light of the Entrance Hall, looking forward to lunch, when an unmistakable voice caught her attention. She maneuvered to the side, out of the mainstream of student traffic, and watched as her handsome Hufflepuff was putting on his best carnival barker routine, trying to gin up stories for his upcoming Headliner article. She brought her hand up in front of her lips and laughed at his antics.
It all took her back to summer camp. They had both been so disappointed that they had not been placed into the same cabin for the month long event, but Simon had fixed that easily and quickly enough. He brought out his ginormous Majesto Tent 500 and had it set up and outfitted for comfort AND privacy before coming to find her at her cabin. It was the perfect answer to their problem, but what was even better was how he showed her and described to her the benefits of the tent. She laughed then, as she was now, thinking he had sounded like a slick used car salesman. But even with his soft shell "hard sell", his innate charm far outweighed any notion that he was scamming you or being disingenuous in any way. In short, Simon was being Simon, so it was both endearing and quite the show.
She continued to watch and listen, and people were briefly stopping and then very quickly moving on. They were all probably hungry, too. She was debating whether to go over to him, but she knew he was technically working so did not want to interfere in that at all. She was perfectly content to stand back and just watch her fellow for a while, which she did, but then she really needed to get something to eat before her afternoon classes started.
Reluctantly, she once again joined the stream of students, hoping to escape his notice just this one time. It likely would have been successful but for one sentence. He barked out, "Know your Summer plans already? Wish to share them? I'm your guy!" It was the 'I'm your guy!' line that stopped her cold and and brought her to attention in the flow of traffic. Had he seen her or was that just the bait for those whom he was hoping to reel in?
Either way it did not matter because her abrupt stop in the middle of the traffic flow began to cause a little bit of a loggerjam that he did soon notice. She turned to see he had left his position and was braving the masses to make his way over. She stepped back once again, just about the time he reached her. Keeping in character, he introduced himself and asked if she would like to share her summer plans and possibly see her name mentioned in the paper?
Playing along with him, she obliged in kind. "Simon, nice to meet you. AngelFyre McCubbin with the... the... ummm... I am with the Blitzkrieg Badgers! That is Hufflepuff's unknown, underground, unofficial name for their Broom Racing team, though they all, to a person, seem blissfully unaware of it. I hope to bring awareness to it as I can with the goal of officially having the name adopted one day. Wear them down, you know. We badgers are a tenacious lot!" and she smiled warmly back at him.
"So to the matter at hand. Summer plans. I was informed by my parents over the recent spring break that we will be on safari in South Africa this summer, within Kruger National Park. I am beyond excited to see rhinos and elephants in the wild before they become extinct. At least I hope I see them. There may even be some Gryf... errm... some lions in the mix somewhere."
She watched him as he diligently took notes, admiring the rich fullness of his hair, and then he looked up. She lost all train of thought but one while staring into the most beautiful pair of eyes she had ever seen. Those eyelashes of his surely had to be as long as any Disney-rendered giraffe, which was to say, dreamy. Oh my! Snapping back to reality when her stomach growled in that moment, she looked down, momentarily embarrassed before concluding their all too brief interaction as she started to walk slowly away from him and towards the Great Hall.
"Again, the name is AngelFyre. That is all one word, with a capital "A" and a capital "F", but with a "y" instead of an "i" in Fyre," and she winked at him and put her hand up to her ear and mouthed, 'Call me!' before giggling and slipping away in the flow of students.
