Nervous Hitches; Unnerving Glitches
Laughter. There was always laughter when he mentioned the handsome part. It was hard for the Headmaster to remember that he was no longer the young man that he used to be. It was also strange to realize that he had been a Professor for almost as long as these children had been alive. Yet there was a time before. Solomon was only forty-five, yes forty-five with the face of a seventy-year old, circumstances had caused him to age prematurely. Thankfully wizards are notoriously long-lived. Before he took the role as the Professor of the Care of Magical Creatures, he was an adventurer who trained creatures that could not... would not be trained. He traveled the word, earning acclaim. He was happy, but he was not a particularly good person during those years. He should have prioritized different things, his family, his daughter and his wife. He didn't. Sometimes you don't realize what you had until it is gone.
It is a waste of time to remember the past, nothing was going to change in those fixed moments in time. He could only look ahead. Seek a distraction. Try to make amends.
One of the students started to take notes, what he had to say was not particularly interesting, it was not as if everything he said was going to be on the final. Emile apologized, Solomon waved it off. It was fine, he did not care. Ravenclaw could have its cliches.
Their first concern was what if I got caught? "What fun is mischief if you are never caught?" The thrill of getting away, trying to at the very least, was half the fun. "What do you think is going to happen when they gets startled by my face being adhered to a window, a vent or over a wall?" Someone would have to be very up tight to truly care. And even if they did, what sort of punishment would be fitting? He let out a laugh. "I would take whatever detention they give with pride I suppose." He paused for a moment before he added, "or learn to outrun your pursuers."
Simple enough: get caught or not. The end result was irrelevant. Have fun and don't hurt nobody.
In a puff of smoke everything was gone. His wife, his daughter, his fame and yes, his youth.

She nodded at the Headmaster's words. Of course. Don't get caught, and you won't deal with detention. That certainly sounded simple to her twelve-year-old mind - but some things are more easily said than done.
"Yes, of course," she said in acknowledgement. Koko stood up to leave; Professor Lear was probably done talking, and of course she would leave him be. He probably had other things to do. "I'm sorry if we bothered you." A simple truth. That much could be easily said about Koko; she preferred to speak the truth. She motioned to Emile, who was apparently still on the couch.
The Gryffindor had been taking notes, she saw. Koko smiled a small half-smile at him. "Come on," said the caramel-haired girl, beckoning towards him. "We should probably leave. Perhaps we can get this taken care of." Koko took the images with mischief gleaming in her eyes. A simple prank, but simplicity was welcomed in this instance. A simple prank, a prank which the consequences wouldn't be very terrible should they get caught - and they would not be caught, Koko would not allow it. The twelve-year-old began to walk out of the office, her feet making hardly any sound on the floor. She walked lightly, putting her weight on the balls of her feet. As she approached the door, she looked back. "Thank you, Professor Lear."

"What fun is mischief if you are never caught? What do you think is going to happen when they gets startled by my face being adhered to a window, a vent or over a wall?" The Headmaster said with a laugh. This was partly true to Emile. Getting into some sort of trouble sounded like it would be nerve wracking and kind of rebellious, but on the other hand..who wants to get into trouble? At school there would always be teachers more strict than others, and being caught by one of them opposed to someone more laid back could be bad consequences, and Hogwarts was no different. Emile didn't feel like getting in trouble right away, but he still had a yearning to cause some mischief. He decided in the end he would play the prank, and pray to his lucky stars that he didn't get caught. He also payed for Koko, since they would be partners in crime this time.
"I would take whatever detention they give with pride I suppose." He paused for a moment before he added, "or learn to outrun your pursuers." Running..this was not something that Emile was strong at. Sure, he was okay flying, and he was quite alright at reading and writing..but running? Not so much. He had decent stamina, but his form was awful and he looked like a wet mop when he ran. If he wanted to be a good prankster it seemed he would have to change that and find a way to run better. "Well, we'll see if I can figure out how not to look like a wet mop." Emile mumbled, then regretted saying that outloud. "Ignore that please." He said, his face turning red.
"If you say so," Emile said after Koko had finished talking, also to give acknowledgment to what Lear had said. "I'm sorry if we bothered you." Koko said, standing up. Emile immediately nodded in agreement. He felt a bit guilty for trying to play a prank on Lear, as he probably had a multitude of other, much more vital things to do than to deal with first years. He made a mental note and vowed internally he would try his best to think about what the consequences of his actions were in the future. For all Emile knew, the Headmaster could have needed to deal with a huge issue. This didn't seem to be the case, but Emile's imagination could run in strange directions when he felt bad.
Emile got up from the couch and followed Koko to the door, glitter and the pictures of Lear in hand. "We absolutely can get this taken care of." Emile chimed, also looking a bit mischievous. He walked behind Koko to the door and also turned back. "Yes, thank you very much. Look out for your face." He said with a smile.

@Koko Riddle is there somewhere you want to continue this, or should we just say it's over?

@Emile Yorke If you want, we could continue it in the Corridors. If not, we don't have to.

The exceedingly slow poster old man would wave the troublemaker youths off. They would probably be caught performing their first prank, they lacked the stealth and skill necessary for anything elaborate. That was fine of course, it was through trial and error that they would learn how to escape capture. They were not running for their lives, just avoiding consequences for their mischief. While some might see Solomon's suggestion as a betrayal of his station - a man of order - he felt otherwise, it taught them how to run, how to hide and how to strike. There was paranoia in the Headmaster's heart, this terrible knowledge that something was going to go wrong. That something always did.
It had been quiet for months. Whatever the man with the glove had intended, he had crawled under a rock and had not moved since Ben was unmasked. he did not entirely trust that the culprit had moved on,why would he? He was never able to glean a purpose from the little he knew and that was likely what unsettled him the most. Someone capable of doing so much but doing so little... Was the man an incompetent or a genius with a plan he had yet to fathom? He did not know, but the question kept him up at night.
Little did Solomon know that the man with the mask and the glove was only a symptom of the troubles to come, that the problem was bigger than a singular man.
