Morning walks
Interacting with @Sarah Sailor IC Date - 09/09/23 WC 231/200 Color Legend - Having woken up after a decent night sleep Mylo decided to go for a morning walk, thinking to themselves that it might be good to get a little fresh air and get ready for the day. It was still very early in the morning so he was hoping that it wouldn't be too busy outside. After getting dressed they made his way outside, taking in the fresh morning air and the quiet chirping of birds.
Walking outside was one of the things Mylo had always loved to do, it helped them to decompress and get ready for the day. He had found that the Hogwarts grounds were amazing for these walks, the grounds were vast and there were many places he could walk to or past. They started walking towards a tree they can see a few feet away, sitting against it facing the lake he admires the scenery thinking back on their first week of school. It had been nothing like they'd expected it to be, he'd made friends which he was very pleased with, and the classes we're fun and a little challenging, he couldn't wait to tell their parents all about it, they'd be baffled by everything they'd been learning.
After sitting there for a while he took out his book that they'd brought with him, 'gone-Michael Grant' and started reading, enjoying the quite calm atmosphere around them.

After a huge breakfast, Sarah decided to go for a walk outside on the castle grounds. It was chilly outside so she wrapped her black and yellow scarf around her neck. Sarah felt lonely as she walked past all the group of kids running around, talking, and laughing. She started to feel awkward as she wondered around the grounds without anything to do.
After a while, Sarah sat down in front of a tree and took out her book: "Book of Spells: By Miranda Goshawk". Sarah was worried she would fall behind in school work, so she read her textbooks whenever she could. Reading was always relaxing for Sarah. She loved to read whenever she felt stressed. And when she reads her textbooks, she can be productive and less stressed. She had read the first chapter and then put the book down. She got up to stretch her legs and noticed a boy sitting by a tree all alone reading a book. Sarah, being the social butterfly she is, walked up to the boy and spoke to him.
"Hello! My name is Sarah. I noticed you were sitting here by yourself. Are you new here too? I'm haven't made any friends yet which is weird for me. I'm usually a social butterfly. So what's your name?"
OOC note: Just curious, what are your pronouns? I think I noticed you using they/them a little bit or maybe I misunderstood? I'll totally respect whatever you use

Interacting with @Sarah Sailor IC Date - 09/09/24 WC 222/200 Color Legend - Mylo The book was fantastic, he loved reading about superpowers and how people reacted in different situations. Mylo still couldn't always believe that they were also now in a 'different' situation, having magical powers, going to a magical school, making magical friends, it was so surreal sometimes that they wondered if they were dreaming. Although he fully knew he wasn't, and he was quite happy with it, they had come to the conclusion that he loved learning magic. Mylo especially loved potions and charms, and seeing how different ingredients could create different effects and how different wand movements and incantations could produce different spells to be cast.
Going back to reading their book, trying to finish the chapter they're on Mylo didn't notice another student coming up to him. Introducing herself as Sarah, she started talking about herself, Mylo talking a little bit to shake themselves out of their stupor and focus on what she was saying.
"Uhm, yeah hi. I am new here too, I'm Mylo, nice to meet you." Still a little bit shaken from the sudden human contact they stand up, dusting off their trousers and bookmarking the page they left off on. "Uhm... I-I'm going to go and grab some breakfast, would you maybe want to join me?" He asks trying not to come off to awkward.

Uhm, yeah hi. I am new here too, I'm Mylo, nice to meet you.
Sarah imidiently noticed that Mylo seemed nervous. She began to worry that she ambushed them to fast and made them uncomfortable. Mylo stood up, brushed off their trousers and bookmarked their book. Sarah was glad when Mylo spoke again.
Uhm... I-I'm going to go and grab some breakfast, would you maybe want to join me?
Sarah tried to speak quieter and softer to make Mylo more comfortable.
Yes, that sounds nice. I was getting pretty hungry anyways!
The two of them began to walk towards the Great Hall. Sarah was nervous and was deciding if she should talk or not. She usually wasn't scared about speaking, but she didn't want to make Mylo nervous. She new she tended to be loud sometimes. They walked past a few other students on the grounds, but not many. This made Sarah think of home. She missed how the kids in her neighborhood would all play together on the lawns of their houses. But Sarah was here now, and she had to make the best of it. She was ready to make new friends and have a new life at Hogwarts.

Interacting with @Sarah Sailor IC Date - 09/09/24 WC 219/200 Color Legend - thoughts | Mylo 'She wants to join! Well done on not messing it up dude!' Mylo thought to themselves after Sarah had accepted their invite to join him for breakfast. They started to make their way up to the great hall, it was starting to get a little bit busier seeing as breakfast had already been and students were trying to get their first meal of the day in before lessons started.
Having sat outside for a while Mylo didn't quite realise that it had been that cold outside until Sarah decided to take off her scarf, he had always been good with the cold and actually quite enjoyed it. It reminded them about all the days he would spend outside with their dad and little sister.
'She asked you a question, it's rude to leave her waiting.' Mylo thought, shaking himself out of their thoughts
"Yeah, but it'll probably start getting colder again as it's getting closer to winter. I'm actually really looking forward to it, I hope it's going to snow. I'm curious what this place will look like covered in it." They responded, trying not to seem as though he wasn't paying attention. He didn't like it when people thought that of them, and as such he made sure to try and make people feel heard.

Sarah felt relieved once Mylo answered. They seemed to be getting more comfortable. She considered Mylo's answer for a moment. Sarah was from London, where it always rained and snowed every now and then. But Mylo had a point. It would be cool to see Hogwarts covered in snow.
I bet it would be so pretty. To see the castle with delicate snow on top.
They continued to walk towards the Great Hall for breakfast. As they began to get closer, there were more and more students walking to breakfast too. Once they got into the hall there were the four long tables for each house. Sarah had completely forgotten about this. She wondered if she was allowed to sit at other house's tables. Where do you usually sit at the Ravenclaw table? Can I join you there?

She had started rambling a bit about that she had been sitting alone since she got here, and how embarrassing/not embarrassing it was. 'She seems not to like being alone, just ask her which table she would prefer, tell her it's okay that she finds it embarrasing and that everyone has different feelings.' Mylo thought to themselves. "I'm usually somewhere close to the door, I like being able to get out quickly if necessary." They answered.
"And don't worry, I don't think sitting alone is embarrassing, but everyone has different feelings about that and it's okay that you think it's embarrassing." Mylo had always found that although they could be very anxious, while speaking to someone who also seemed anxious they would sometimes get this boost of confidence to compensate. It could really help in some situations.
They were nearing the great hall and the hallways were starting to fill with students, getting ready for class, talking with friends or just like them getting breakfast. "Where would you prefer to sit, at the Ravenclaw table or the Hufflepuff one? I would like to sit close to the door though." He asked, starting to feel a little anxious again with the amount of students around him. Hoping she would be able to make a decision.

I'm usually somewhere close to the door, I like being able to get out quickly if necessary. And don't worry, I don't think sitting alone is embarrassing, but everyone has different feelings about that and it's okay that you think it's embarrassing.
Sarah thought for a moment. What if Mylo had been sitting alone? She didn't want them to think that she thought that was embarrassing for them. Sarah realized that might not have been the most considerate things to say.
Where would you prefer to sit, at the Ravenclaw table or the Hufflepuff one? I would like to sit close to the door though
Sarah noticed Mylo seemed to be getting nervous by the increasing number of students entering the great hall. She searched around the huge room for a nice calmer place for her and Mylo to sit. She also remembered that Mylo said he liked to sit near the door. She searched some more and then found a spot by the door at the end of the Ravenclaw table.

Sarah pointed her finger to the spot at the end of the Ravenclaw table. She glanced at Mylo hoping that he would approve.
Come on. Let's go grab that seat before someone else takes it.
Sarah guided Mylo to the spot where they could eat breakfast. She took a seat on the side of the bench that wasn't directly next to the door so Mylo could have that seat. Sarah gestured to the seat next to her for Mylo to sit down.
If this doesn't work of course I can find somewhere else for us to sit. Really wherever you want works. I'm Ok with anything so long as I'm not alone.

Interacting with @Sarah Sailor Date - 09/09/24 WC 370/200 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts After asking where she would like to sit Mylo looked at Sarah, trying not to pay too much attention to the large crowd gathering in the hall and distracting themselves by putting his attention on her, and he noticed Sarah scanning the place for a suitable seat. She seemed to be set on finding the perfect spot as she looked at a few spots and then continued looking.
After a few places she seemed to settle on a spot, pointing over at it she looks over to them, seemingly for approval. She had chosen a spot at the Ravenclaw table, close to the door and it seemed like there weren't too many students gathering at it. It was a spot Mylo would have chosen themselves.
Looking back over to Sarah he nodded, "That's perfect, maybe next time we could sit at the Hufflepuff table." 'You shouldn't assume she wants to sit together again, maybe this is just a one time thing.' "Uhm, that's only if you want to of course." They try to back peddle, letting Sarah guide them over to their breakfast spot.
As they got there he noticed she left the spot closest to the door for Mylo to sit it, it made him feel happy in a way, that she had listened to them and then let them have the better spot. Sitting down with a timid smile he thanks her. "Thank you, this is a perfect spot, it's one I would have chosen myself probably. You don't have to be alone, if you want I can sit with you in the future?" They offer, noting that she didn't seem to like being alone, and although he had previously scolded himself for assuming it, now that she had said something about it out loud it seemed like a reasonable offer to make.
Hoping for a positive response Mylo started putting together some stuff for their breakfast, mostly just some toast with jam and some mango juice. He'd found he preferred the simpler breakfasts over the more elaborate ones they'd seen some of the other students with.
Taking a bite of their toast they couldn't help but be curious about if she'd take him up on his offer.

Sarah smiled at Mylo. They seemed to be such a nice person. She liked the idea of there being a "next time". It made Sarah feel more secure that she won't have to sit alone at meals anymore. And not only will she not be sitting alone, she will be sitting her new friend!
The two of them made their way to the spot that Sarah had found. Sarah pulled two plates out for herself and her new friend Mylo.
Thank you, this is a perfect spot, it's one I would have chosen myself probably. You don't have to be alone, if you want I can sit with you in the future?
Sarah smiled at Mylo. She noted that they seemed to be a little nervous asking this question. So Sarah answered in the most honest way she could.
Of course! We could meet up with each other at meals and stuff! We could be "Meal Buddies".
Sarah chuckled to herself. She felt like she finally made a friend. She couldn't wait for her and Mylo to spend more time together and form a strong friendship. Sarah poured herself some orange juice. She then took a pancake from the huge dish of pancakes. Sarah eventually finished her meal and said goodbye to Mylo.
Alright, well, I have potions class. But we should definitely eat together again soon. See you around Mylo!
And with that, Sarah smiled and waved at Mylo and left the Great Hall.
