Finished Picnic with Bestie PV Linda

I grinned as Linda came over. Phew I wasn’t going to be waiting for a while. I was excited and I wanted to eat and talk not wait. Impatient me I guess.
“No I have not been waiting for too long, just a few minutes.” I smiled. “Wow, I didn’t have many things to pick from haha, looks like you did!”
We walked towards the Great Lake and I set Genie down. The two cats started to play. It was really cute. I turned towards Linda.
“Hmmm… how about under this little tree here so we have some shade?” I replied. I set out the blanket that we could sit on and I brought out my basket full of the leftover treats. In addition, I had brought some juice.
Linda set out what she had brought as well.
“Wow you brought a lot!” I said, “I brought some pumpkin and M&M cookies and some apple and orange juice. Also I brought some napkins. Not as much as you but that was what I could find!”
We set out the stuff and I opened all the containers. The food looked good. I didn’t k ow what I would start with. “What are you going to start with?” I asked.
It had been a while since we had had quality time with each other. I missed this time. “We should do this more often. But anyway, how have you been?” I asked.

I was glad that Linda agreed to this spot because it was a bit hot so I wanted the shade. After we set up the picnic we took all of the stuff out. "Oh yea I guess," I laughed.
Now it was time to eat our food. Linda said that she was going to start with my M&M cookies. I decided that I would start by taking some of Linda's sweets and her lemon water. I was a bit thirsty but my sweet tooth needed the sweets.
"I'll start with the sweets and lemon water," I said. I took a bite of one of the sweets. "Wow, this is good!" I exclaimed. I also drank some of the lemon water after pouring it into a cup. "Oh, thanks!" I replied to her comment on the M&M cookies.
I was already enjoying this time and it had just began. I was also glad that Linda wanted to do this more often. But I listened as Linda explained that one of her friends died. I gasped. "OMG! That's crazy! I hope you are ok now and their parents. Nothing that crazy has happened to me, I just got some new dormies because my old one disappeared... Strange, I don't know how though." I replied.
"I guess a lot of strange things have happened recently huh..." I said.
I munched on the sweets and grabbed some of my cookies as well. Glancing at the cats making sure they were still there, I smiled. They seemed to be having fun together as well.
"Have you done anything new recently?" I asked, wanting to continue this conversation.

I listened as Linda started to talk. Everything she said was true. "Yea, thats a true. I guess this year will be different since we are more used to Hogwarts."
Linda talked about what she learned and the new stuff she did. "OMG, drums are like so cool! I would love to learn a new language. Wow, I wish I could understand parselmouth... that sounds cool! Well for me, I just dyed my hair, and I love it. I also am starting to learn strategy for broomracing since I just got into the team this summer! I'm excited for the first match!!"
In truth, Reyna was really excited. But she was also really nervous and scared. It was a new thing for her. She had first learned to ride a broom from her grandpa, when she was younger and now he gave her advice. He really was the one who had got her interested in racing period.
"Ooh, summer already, right after this summer!" I laughed. I guess it was never too early to start planning! I shook my head. "No, I don't have many plans... however I really do want to go to summer camp, everyone said this year was really good. Maybe if I go to summer camp, once it ends, we can do something together? Its kind of early to plan it but I guess, it's never too early!"
I smiled. I really was enjoying this as I was munching on cookies and sipping the lemon water. The cats seemed to be enjoying it as well. This felt right.

Reyna sat there nodding her head, her hair blowing in the nice breeze. Fall was getting to be one of her favorite seasons. The weather was amazing.
"Yeah," she replied, "I honestly love broomracing! You should try it out!!"
Reyna nodded to Linda's thoughts about summer camp. Summer camp was cool. But she wasn't sure it was better than traveling like they had done this year. And traveling with your bestie made it 10 times better. So if Linda wasn't at summer camp then maybe she would not go. But she wasn't sure.
"Birthday! Yes, I guess so. It was just my birthday haha! It was a really wonderful birthday with you!" Reyna replied smiling and thinking back to the memories of Greece. Wonderful.
Reyna smiled at Linda's thought about friendship. "Yeah," she said taking a deep breath, "I don't think I could have lasted a year of Hogwarts without you." How much of a difference Linda had made was unimaginable to describe. It was better than anything she could have imagined. And she never wanted it to end.
Sometimes picnics were for fun and food and chatter. But Reyna had a feeling this one was for appreciation, friendship and memories to come. And Reyna loved that feeling.
