Sullivan watched the rest of the sorting ceremony from his seat at the Slytherin table. He cheered loudly every time a new student was sorted into Slytherin and joined them at the table. By the time the ceremony wrapped and everyone had been sorted, Sulli could feel his stomach rumbling with hunger. He hoped dinner wouldnt be much longer, he was already thinking about all the things that he would eat.

He tried to listen to the speech from the Headmaster, but his mind keep drifting back to food. Interrupted with the rumbling sounds of his ever growing hungry stomach. He looked around, hoping he wasnt the only one struggling to keep focus, a few of the faces around him seemed to have the same blank look that he was sure he wore.

When it was time, the golden plates and platters magically filled with food. Large slabs of roast beef, whole roast chickens, grilled fish, piles of golden carrots, ruby beets, piping hot cobs of corn with butter running down the sides. There were pitchers of gravy, pots of honey, and Sullivan even noticed a plate of hamburgers. He filled his plate with a small piece of everything, and dug in hungrily.

Emily was nervous about being sorted. Her sister was in Gryffindor and Emily did not want that house. She preferred Slytherin. When her name was called she walked up nervously and sat down. The hat, to her relief, called Slytherin and she happily skipped over to the Slytherin table and sat next to a boy with dark hair and dark eyes. Emily gave him a short smile and watched everyone else being sorted. Once the sorting was over and the headmaster had given his speech, the food appeared and Emily put all her favorites on her plate. Fish, roast beef, carrots potatoes, all her favorites. She started to eat and She turned to the boy next to her. "Hi! This food is delicious isn't it?" she asked with a soft smile pouring herself some juice and taking another bite of fish. The food was delicious the house elves had made a good job with it. It was just as good as the food she experienced at home. Now that she thought about it, it might actually be better than home. The house elves here sure did know how to make a good dinner at least. It could have been a horrible burnt and shriveled up dinner.
