“Ok! T-thank you,” Kaitlyn flushed lightly. “I’ll l-let you k-know when I’m done with it. I d-do really like your idea, t-though. Oh! I have a t-thought … if you don’t mind. M-maybe in the future, if we both w-want to read a book, I can get two c-copies and send one to y-you? Then, we can both read t-together and can more easily discuss what w-we like, the characters, and whatever e-else?” She suggested a hopeful smile on her face.

“Would it help if I w-write them down? I have some parchment with m-me.” Kaitlyn offered with a kind smile. She didn’t mind giving recommendations and knew how hard it was to remember book names. Then, when she’d enter a store, she’d come out with ten books, none of which were the one she originally forgot the name of.

Kaitlyn’s smile grew with Linda’s acceptance of her long list of hobbies. “Um, my d-dancing experience is mostly ballet, but I d-do know a few professional dances … and dances for couples. And I have a l-lot of drawings. They’re mostly line art shaded in with colored pencils or w-whatever medium I can get my hands on,” she replied, appreciative of Linda’s acceptance.

Her smile grew even more, as Linda accepted her offer. “O-okay! Thank you, you’ve b-been very sweet to me this entire time. I run every day, too. Oh, um, okay! Please don’t m-mind my rustiness on it!” Kaitlyn was actually not shy of Linda hearing her play an instrument. She just hadn’t practiced in a while, and would likely need to acquaint herself with the piano. And, she wasn’t shy about her other hobbies, either.

Linda smiled hearing the offer. It would definitely save them some time and give them opportunity to discuss it even while reading. You know, it would be awesome. But only if it's okay with you. I don't want to bother you much for it.

Linda thought for a second as she wasn't sure if she could find everything in Hogwarts. But, she could always ask Kaitlyn or Mellani for help. She even thought that Rey could help as her bestie was living in muggle world. Yes, that would be awesome. This way I can always look at it and mark something when I read it or can't find it, so I would need help.

That's really cool! My drawings are more realistic. Basically as you see it by your eyes, you will see on paper in my sketchbooks. I can dance, but I do it alone. I love playing guitar and piano. Swimming and reading lately became a bit less than I used to do them. And some other things. But my main are drawing and guitar. Linda mused.

I need to practice drums more, especially handpan, so we could practice together till we feel more confident and then we could try to play something together. If you would want. Linda smiled enthusiastically but not wishing to make her hopes high. She didn't want to force Kaitlyn to do anything she wouldn't want to do.

Kaitlyn gave Linda a bright and genuine smile. “Great! It is p-perfectly fine with me. I’d love t-to have someone to talk to about a-all sorts of books. You w-won’t bother me; I can guarantee it.”

With a giggle, Kaitlyn fished out some parchment, her quill, and her ink. Without the need to repeat herself, she wrote down the list of books she previously said. Her handwriting was in cursive and very neat. Each i was dotted with a heart. She handed it to Linda when she was done. “Awesome! A-and I’ll help you find any t-that you need, don’t worry,” she smiled.

“Oh, cool! I want t-to improve mine. I really like r-realistic art. I tried to do that with a landscape o-once. It took many hours but l-looked fantastic! And, t-that’s good. It is a lot of fun t-to dance alone. Oh, n-nice. The guitar is good, t-too. I haven’t swam m-much. The boarding school I went t-to didn’t have a pool,” she recalled.

Kaitlyn giggled and smiled brightly to Linda. “Ok, I t-think I’ll like that. Um, and w-we can do it whenever you want. I don’t m-mind,” she replied with an enthusiastic smile. Even though the girls only just met, Kaitlyn liked it that they were already making plans with each other to do things together … or at least simultaneously. ‘I just hope I don’t screw this up by being stupid,’ she thought.

Linda smiled enthusiastically. It was a great opportunity to start reading more again. Just like she used to do. That's awesome! Can't wait to be able to do it together! She smiled.

As soon as Kaitlyn finished writing, Linda took it and noticed very nice handwriting. Your handwriting is quite nice. I like the way you write i's. She looked carefully into it and found that she was starting to like it more with every passing second. That's gonna be great. I guess I'll have some trouble with finding them since I'm not living in muggle world.

Something from what Kaitlyn said caught Linda's attention like nothing before. Boarding school? She wasn't surprised she didn't understand what that meant. But she was intrigued by the idea of learning something else new today in this period of time which she spent with Kaitlyn.

We could do it on weekend so we could meet earlier and have more time in case we will stop focusing with it. I don't want you to get into trouble because of me. Linda smiled. She wasn't into breaking rules too, but she didn't want to be a reason for someone else breaking them even more than she cared about herself.

Kaitlyn smiled brightly. “I c-cannot wait, either. I’m excited to start d-doing it with you! I’d love to d-discuss all parts of the books with you. Don’t f-feel like you need to censor yourself i-in front of me. I’d love to know y-your opinions,” she smiled.

Hearing Linda’s compliment, Kaitlyn giggled. “Thanks. I like w-writing like that,” she admitted with a smile. It took a while to learn, but she liked it. “That’s f-fine … I’ll try my best to help. I know I have a few from t-this list in my dorm,” she reflected.

“Oh. Yes. St. Ann’s all-girls Catholic b-boarding school. It’s the muggle school I went to before I c-came here. It’s kind of similar to here, b-but there are only girls there. The dorm room t-there is very similar to my dorm here. A giant open room with the individual four poster bed, n-nightstands, desk, and wardrobe for each girl. There was no magic, so all of the s-subjects were muggle-based. Since it is a religious institution, they t-taught us religion and going to church. I learned my cursive from there.”

Kaitlyn nodded. “Ok. L-let me know when you’re ready to begin. I hope we sound good together,” she giggled. “Oh, well … b-breaking a rule for a friend is an acceptable reason for me. But, I respect your opinion. Thank you for t-thinking about me,” she smiled.

Linda smiled looking at Kaitlyn. It was surprisingly good and easy to talk to her without focusing on the stuttering. Oh was it really just because she didn't care about it? Oh there's not gonna be need for censoring. I don't use swearing in my speech at all. What she didn't add was the fact that she heard those words only when she came to Hogwarts. Was it all from muggle world?

Linda felt intrigued by Kaitlyn's story. And this was second time she heard mentioning of religion. Was there even one of them? She didn't know if Simon was talking about Catholic one or not. Catholic? What does it mean? I'm sorry I only heard term "religion" previous year from one friend but I still don't really know much about it. Are there a lot of them? She was generally curious. There was nothing judgmental in her voice, however a second later Linda thought perhaps Kaitlyn wouldn't want to talk about it. If you don't want to answer, it's okay. She smiled sincerely, hoping she wouldn't make the girl think that she was forcing her to answer.

That sounds great. I didn't go to school before Hogwarts. My family gave me some basic education at home. She smiled. It came out as nothing special, but surely she was always surrounded by magic. I believe it will be great. Linda giggled. Thinking about it for a while she decided that she was available any time. Maybe next weekend? So if you want to practice alone you would have more chance to have some time for it? Or we could start later, like a week after next one. I don't mind starting whenever you would prefer. And she smiled, accepting her words of thanks. Perhaps breaking rules for a friend could be not bad, depending on what exactly it required, but Linda didn't like it anyway.

Kaitlyn smiled at Linda. “Neither do I, if I am to be honest. When I meant censoring, I meant when talking about the different characters in the books, the plot, or even the relationship between the characters. I’d love to hear all of it,” she smiled, wanting Linda to know that she’d be comfortable talking about the books in whatever format the older girl wanted.

“Oh, um, I’d hate to bore you with that story. Catholic is one religion muggles have, yes. Some others are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Paganism. There are plenty of others. But, to answer your question, Catholics believe in one God, represented by what is called the Holy Trinity: the father, who is God, the son, who is named Jesus, and the Holy Spirit,” she attempted to explain. “I guess the basic idea is that it is a belief system muggles have to explain the world around us,” she attempted to summarize it.

Kaitlyn nodded her head at Linda’s remarks. “Cool. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be homeschooled,” she mused. She giggled at Linda’s suggestion and nodded. “Ok, I think next weekend will be fine for me, and it should give me enough time to practice, so I won’t sound too bad. Thank you very much,” she replied sincerely. As her conversation with Linda continued, her stuttering kept getting noticeably less and less.

Linda smiled, realizing now what exactly was meant. She also noticed that Kaitlyn stopped stuttering, which she supposed was good. Ah this. Yeah, we could do it easily. Though she would still take care about what and how she was describing as one thing was what Kaitlyn chose to read, another thing was discussing it if it could be inappropriate. Although, thinking about it more, such book would end up been not read completely and Linda would take care next time before trusting book recommendations.

However, she doubted Kaitlyn would choose something bad. Linda listened description of the belief system politely and decided to not ask more. It was relatively understandable and enough. She didn't want to go deeper into it as it could bring all sorts of problems that she didn't want and didn't need.

It was great. At least for me. It naturally becomes even more interesting since I was always surrounded by magic. It was amazing day when my family knew I had my first instance of magic. Linda mused excitedly. Then next weekend it is. We can meet in room of requirements if you want. Somewhere after breakfast?

She looked around and thought she spent quite much time here already. She had some plants that she needed to water, as well as her kitten who was most likely awake by now. I'm looking forward to talk to you again, but I need to go back to my room. My kitten now is most likely awake. She smiled once more before standing up, and started to go to the Gryffindor tower.

Kaitlyn smiled brightly at Linda and nodded in agreement. “Ok, great! I look forward to it,” she smiled, sweetly. ‘I hope to give Linda good book recommendations. I know my taste could be different. I’ll remember to not take it personally if Linda ends up not liking some, I understand how that feels. I’ll do my best to be careful,’ she thought.

“Awesome. I’d imagine being homeschooled around magic would be very interesting,” Kaitlyn agreed. Not to mention, it likely helped Linda in terms of what to expect about magic and what she had to learn when she started Hogwarts. “That is splendid to hear! Your first instance of magic must have been joyful to see! I was mostly confused with mine, for it was my first time even seeing magic,” she mused.

“Ok, next weekend it is. That should work. After breakfast sounds perfect,” Kaitlyn smiled, joyfully. “Aw, you have a kitten? I have a bunny, who is likely awake by now, too,” she giggled. “I look forward to talking to you again, too. Thank you for spending the time to talk to me,” she smiled brightly. She politely waited for Linda to stand up to leave before Kaitlyn also stood up to leave. Once Linda left, Kaitlyn packed her book, and skipped out of the library, heading in the opposite direction towards the Slytherin Common Room.
