Directing her anger upon, @Theo VendebergViolet burned in anger as she heard what Theo had to say. She was ready to burst out as Theo turned on his heel. Before she could, another voice was heard from the entrance to the trophy room. She turned to look around, to recognize a prefect, from her very own house. He had used a phrase, she had never heard before. It would have sounded funny to Violet, if she was in some other situation. However, the matter was serious right now. Her eyes widened in recognition, being scared at the same time as well. Was this how she was going to get her first detention?, she could not help but think along the line. The Hufflepuff prefect, had also unintentionally blocked the exit, trapping her and her opponent, Theo inside the room without any chance to run away. This, however, was a relief. She would not have to take the blame on herself, of breaking the trophy. It was not her fault anyways. She was scared of Theo complaining, but she didn't really regret what she said. He did not deserve to be in Hogwarts, especially after he berated its proud legacy. Before anyone else in the room could say further, she said, "You are Simon, right? A Hufflepuff prefect, I'm a fellow Hufflepuff.", she said as if she could earn some favour from him. She continued quite venemously, "Well, I was going to come and complain to a prefect anyway. I was in the trophy room, checking out the shields and trophies, peacefully when this boy, Theo broke a shield. And as if that wasn't enough, he even insulted the legacy of Hogwarts, disrespecting the shield of a Hogwarts champion who perished in the Tri-wizard tournament."Reducio285 words!OOC NOTE:

Theo spun on his heel and strode toward the door, only to find a prefect blocking his path, startling him. The student uttered a strange incantation of numbers in his direction. Frozen in place, mouth slightly agape, Theo half expected to be transformed into a frog or something equally bizarre. After a few moments passed without any magical effects, the boy closed his mouth and regained his composure. He assumed the phrase ‘forty forty’ was some unfamiliar southern idiom, given that he hailed from the North of England himself.
As Violet spoke, he attempted to maintain his composure, but grimaced. He remained silent until she finished, then swiftly tried to think on his feet. “She’s right. I knocked the trophy off its plinth by accident.” He said, sounding somewhat regretful. “I asked Violet here if she knew the mending charm, but alas she won't help me.” He declared and then began to give her an intense stare. “She decided I am an ungrateful muggle, after she eavesdropped on a private conversation I was having - with myself.” He finished with an upward inflection.
He threw his arms up into the air, making his case to the prefect, hoping it would be enough to avoid punishment. "I don’t even know what a Triwizard Tournament is," he added.

Talking with and assisting @Theo Vendeberg and @Violet Rohr
It sounded as if the two were in quite a quarrel and Simon wasn't there to witness what had happened nor what had been said before his arrival so he would remain impartial on the matter. "Most things can be fixed," he said with a steady voice, hoping it would ease some tension from both of them. "Please, allow me take a look at it," he said and held out his hand for the shield.
Simon could remember back to what it was like in his first year at Hogwarts. He remembered being SO interested in everything related to magic and yet feeling as if he didn't know anything at all. He was a muggle - more or less - and it all had been entirely new to him. He didn't even know dragons and unicorns actual existed, much less what a hinkypunk is - and then there were all these students that either came from a wizarding background or were higher years that seemed to know EVERYTHING. It was overwhelming.
"As for the Triwizard Tournament, it is an inter-school magical competition that consists of three dangerous tasks completed by a chosen champion from their school - originally Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. The last one was in 1994 when we, tragically and unfortunately lost a Hufflepuff named Cedric Diggory to the danger. We've since molded it and a year or so back had a Hexwizard Tournament with Hogwarts and Beauxbatons and Durmstrang but also invited several other wizarding schools - being six in all, thus the Hex part......" Simon paused. "Although, some do think it had a double meaning. Anyway - our Hogwarts representive then was another Hufflepuff, Howard White." Maybe they had heard of him, maybe not. Simon admired the Seventh Year quidditch captain quite well. He was a former prefect and he was a dhampir like himself.
"The mending charm should take care of the shield," he said, letting them know it was fixable, "but what of you two? Are you going to continue the quarrel the moment I walk away?" He didn't need them to become besties by any means but he didn't think it benefitted anyone to make enemies.

@Simon KincaidViolet waited for Theo to argue his cause, and glared at him as he spoke. Once he was finished, she replied in one go, returning the boy's intense stare back, "Not knowing about the triwizard tournament is one thing, and is alright but disrespecting a wizard who had died? And I did not eavesdrop your private conversation. I was here beforehand, and if it was actually that private and you did not want a reaction, you should have looked inside properly to check for someone's presence. Being a muggleborn gives you no excuse to disrespect our legacy, which is very much yours as well, a fact you might hate to agree upon. And for your information, the champion we are talking about did not die playing, he was killed by the dark lord. And you were asking for help, rather impolitely I had say. Now, do not try to act like you regret just because we have a prefect with us now."
As Simon explained about the Triwizard tournament, Violet nodded along, knowing every single thing he was talking about.
She had heard all about Howard White and admired him a lot. Winning a Hexwizard tournament that was indeed filled with a lot of hexes as Simon had metioned was immensely respectful.
As Simon spoke about fixing the shield and the argument, Violet looked down and frowned. "I am not the one who is quarrelling." She then pointed Theo and said, "He was being an extremely egoistic, ungrateful, rude, disrespectful and dumb brat."Reducio253 words!

Summoning all the willpower he could muster, Theo contained his hostility, determined to show no sign of being affected by her insults. With a calm smile, he glanced at Simon and subtly gestured towards Violet, silently implying that she was the one being vitriolic.
When he finally spoke, it was to Simon and not Violet, as if she didn't exist. "There seems to have been some miscommunication here, no disrespect intended." As he bent down to pick up both halves of the splintered shield, he shot Violet a mischievous grin, knowing Simon couldn't see it from that angle. Straightening up, his expression shifted back to a serious demeanour as he placed the broken shield into Simon’s outstretched hand.
“I'm not familiar with the Mending Charm, and I assume Violet isn't either; otherwise, she would have simply assisted me instead of causing a scene.”
Instead of responding to Violet's barrage of insults, he attempted to brush them off without retaliating, seemingly aiming to portray her as an unstable aggressor to Simon while subtly gaslighting Violet into believing she had overreacted. He glanced at Simon and offered a half shrug. "You needn't take my word, Prefect. I'll take my leave while you're still here. Good day, Hufflepuffs."
With that, it appeared he would walk straight out without a backward glance, unless Simon intervened, of course.

Hoping no more friction between @Violet Rohr and @Theo Vendeberg
Simon didn't really take a side on the situation at hand and he wasn't quite sure there was a situation to side with. It seemed that both of the quarreling students were prepared to keep quarreling for the sake of quarreling. A detention would do little good, as 1) the item could be repaired by magic and therefore no harm was permanently done and 2) these two didn't need to be spending any more time together than they already had.
Simon feared it would escalate if that happened and while the Gryffindor student was making his leave now, it was the prefect's hope that he would remain distanced from the Hufflepuff student, and the other way round.
It seemed like neither student wanted to really drop it though and his hopes were sadly not set very high. These two would probably bump heads at another time in another place but maybe they'd make amends. There was no solution right now when both were being so equally hard-headed.
Simon let the Gryffindor go as he drew his wand from his pocket and made the correct wand movement while uttering "Reparo," and soon she shield was piecing itself back together until one would never know that it had been broken in the first place. "There, all better," Simon said and looked to the girl. "You uh, you doing alright?"he asked her, not sure if she needed someone to talk to about the situation or if she just wanted to be left alone for awhile to let go of her frustration.

date: ??/11/2023 location: trophy roomViolet glared at Theo as he left the room. A look of disdain painted her face as she crossed her arms. She just wanted some peace, some insight not a useless quarrel with someone who just was not worth it.
She looked at Simon who repaired the broken shield. She was not so sure on what to think about him, her emotions still being clouded by anger towards Theo.
The young girl had no control over her anger and she knew that herself. As Simon asked her if everything was alright, she looked away, tears forming in her eyes. The young Hufflepuff answered her older counterpart's question, her tone now softer than before. "Alright!? Why would you think it is alright. Nothing is. I hate to make enemies and I just know I have made myself one now. A-and did you see the way he just blamed everything on me?", Violet's voice broke. She was slowly getting riled up again, thinking about what had just happened. "He acted as if I was the one who did not help him out when he was being so rude and that too for no reason. Private conversation? He did not even think twice before disrespecting someone who had died. I totally get that he does not know of the history of our world but there was no need, absolutely no need to act like that. He did not need to come to Hogwarts if he was going to be a bitch about it. If he is so fond of muggle ways of doing things, he simply does not need to learn wizardry. Don't get me wrong, I am not against muggleborns studying in our school but they have no right to be ungrateful about it. It is just, just so wrong in every single way."

Talking with @Violet Rohr
He had to agree to disagree on some of the topics that the girl spoke on. Him, having come from the muggle world himself to this had turned his world upside down. It was harder to stay in contact with all the close friends he left behind and there was such a huge part of his world that his Aunt Maggie would never begin to understand, even if he told her. And sometimes, he unfortunately hid some of it - because would she agree to allow him to keep coming to Hogwarts year after year if she knew some of the dangers that the students faced?
"It's a big culture shock, coming from the muggle world to here. It's worth it, don't get me wrong, but it's definitely an adjustment." He watched her and shrugged. "I suppose it would be a big adjustment no matter where you came from." Even halfbloods and purebloods often didn't mingle so much with others of magic, have such intense classes, and live in castles. Well, maybe some of the purebloods lived in castles.....
"Give it time to even out a little. Maybe you two will have positive encounters in the future which could lead to a friendship?" Maybe it was too soon to say such things and he'd anger her again. He hoped not. He was just that optimistic Hufflepuff that hoped for the best for everyone. This girl certainly didn't want enemies and therefore he didn't want her to have any enemies.
"Want someone to walk back with you to the Common Room?" he offered up to the Hufflepuff. Maybe she'd take him up on it. Maybe she'd tell him to get the hell away from her.
