Closed Mesmerizing Explorations PV Kaya Bennett

Kaya was surprised how many times this time she found herself without her bestie. Just like now she went out of their cabin and started to look around, deciding to look in Hogwarts itself. She stood up, prepared herself and decided to eat some biscuits with lemon water before she would go out. Amber was her bestie, but it was the type when you'd actually think that they were sisters, because simple besties wasn't enough to describe their friendship. She still didn't have as much friends in Ilvermorny as she'd wish. And what was making her a bit sad, she knew only two-three people from other schools: one from Castelobruxo and others from Hogwarts. Maybe this year it would change...

She went inside and started to walk around every place she could go. This was hard but Kaya just kept going. When she finished looking around and was on her way back outside, she stopped at the corridors.

There, leaning on the wall, was a younger girl from her school, Ilvermorny. However, up until now they didn't talk to each other yet. So Kaya decided she could find Amber later. Now she could possibly get a new friend. Hi there. You are from Ilvermorny too, right? I think I saw you in this September sorting ceremony. So, you are first year, right? She smiled enthusiastically while coming closer to the girl. How this chatting will finish? She didn't know. But whatever the result will be, she definitely will try to talk now.

As Devon’s green eyes scanned the giant room in front of her, she was not paying attention at all to what was going on around her. She saw four giant tables for four houses. A giant table at the very front of the room. A giant fireplace large enough to heat such a giant room. Floating candles for light. And, oh my gosh, that ceiling. She had only just been outside, seeing the bright sunny sky. The ceiling of this room appeared to mimic the weather outside. Simply mesmerizing!

While her eyes were studying the room, Devon had no idea someone walked up to her. “EEEP!” She yelped, jumping around at the sound of the girl’s voice. Her heartbeat quickened from the scare. It took her a moment, but she was pretty sure she saw this girl before. Around Ilvermorny. And, it appeared this girl recognized her. ‘I wonder if she heard that I fell off my broom near the beginning of the year …. Yeah, I’m not asking that. Why bring it to mind?’

“H-Hi!” Devon briefly stammered from the shock. “Yes. Yes, I am. I think I’ve seen you there, too?” She recalled. “Yes, I’m a first year, are you, too?” She asked, trying to rack her brain to remember if she saw this girl in any of her classes, she she kept coming up blank. “Oh, where are my manners? Hi, I’m Devon Wallen,” she exclaimed in introduction, holding out her hand to her.

Ah sorry if I scared you. Didn't plan to do it. Kaya smiled sincerely, wondering what kept the girl's attention so much she didn't notice her approaching. Perhaps she was supposed to clear her throat first or maybe make her stept more loud. But one should always be ready to be approached in a place where there are a lot of students.

I am from Ilvermorny. You could maybe see me on Quidditch team or practicing? Or literally anywhere around the castle and outside it. I'm second year. Or even she could see Kaya during sorting ceremony. Kaya attended it to look at new students and even got one new friend from them. She smiled at the memory and wondered why she didn't talk to Elias more ever since.

Nice to meet you, Devon. I'm Kaya Rose Bennett. You can call me Kaya or Rose or anything you prefer else. She took girl's hand and shaked it gently in a greeting way. Now, when they introduced themselves, Kaya thought again about question that she had. What captured your attention so much? If you don't mind me asking. Kaya mused. She kept herself elegant with kind eyes. After all she was raised in pureblood family and this surely had some affection on her.

Devon smiled sheepishly. “It’s fine, no need to worry. I wasn’t paying attention … admittedly,” she replied. Sometimes, when she concentrated enough on what she was doing, she tuned everything else out around her. It was a nasty habit. It helped with studying and doing work, but not when she actually had to pay attention, too.

As the girl talked about being on the Quidditch team, Devon could have sworn she saw a girl like her on the team. “Oh, yeah! I’ve watched a few matches. You’re great, by the way! I’m on the broom racing team, myself,” she smiled brightly. “Ah, a second year? I’m a measly first year, no wonder I don’t remember you from class,” she laughed.

Devon smiled to Kaya. “It’s nice to meet you, as well, Kaya.” She shook Kaya’s hand, in greeting. She had no idea what the best method was for greeting someone new. She was often very awkward, despite being an extrovert. “Oh, right, that.” She gestured to the grand and big hall through the doors she was just staring at. “Have you seen this giant room in here? It is so big … and beautiful. T-the ceiling is … I guess the best description would be that it mirrors the weather outside. It’s … beautiful,” she repeated, clearly still in awe of the Great Hall.

That can happen. Kaya replied, although really in Hogwarts, especially nowadays, it could lead Devon to a lot of bumping into others. But Kaya didn't say that and in fact, even didn't think about it. There're so many different students here. It's kinda amuzing. Kaya mused. So much possibility for new friends and she still managed to almost get none. However, she didn't feel upset. Kaya believed this year would be different.

With younger girl stating that she is on broom racing team, Kaya thought she might've seen her there. Thank you. Ah that's nice! You know we could practice together some time. She mused. Kaya was anticipating new game, wondering if it will go as great as previous one was. That would be wonderful if so.

Kaya looked at the mentioned room. That was interesting phrasing, has she seen it before. Surely she did. But she could understand the excitement it could cause for when you saw it first time ever. It looks quite nice. And yeah, I've seen it before. But you know, I really like our room where we have sorting in Ilvermorny too. I wonder if every other school has something fascinating like that as well. She giggled. But the ceiling truly looked captivating. She sometimes was thinking to use it in one of the rooms at her mansion when she would be adult.

“I bet. I need to pay better attention, especially around here. I don't know much about Hogwarts,” Devon admitted to Kaya, giving a small smile. The most she knew was limited to what she read before they left. "It very much is. And all of us that came from non-Hogwarts schools are camping on the campgrounds,” she giggled. “May I ask, Kaya? How exciting was your first visit to Hogwarts?” She asked, curiously, recalling that Kaya said that she was a second year. As such, there was a decent-sized chance that she had been there before. ‘She must know a lot of students then,’ she mused.

“Cool! That would be lovely. Although we’re in different sports, I’m sure there is something we can do together,” Devon smiled brightly at Kaya. ‘And I hope I can do a good job for our school. Hopefully, our games are at different times. I’d like the chance to cheer Kaya on,’ she thought.

Devon turned to Kaya and smiled brightly. “I totally agree. You have? What was your first reaction to it? It looks so different than our own! I do like our room, too. All of the statues. I liked how the horned serpent statue indicated its desire for me to be a part of such a lovely house,” she giggled. “Oh, I’d love to see them, too!” She agreed, enthusiastically.

At this time when except Hogwarts students there are students from other schools, it'll be even more crowded. Although I suppose Hogwarts ones are already quite much. Otherwise they wouldn't need so big castle. Kaya chuckled.

Her first time in Hogwarts? Kaya smiled excitedly. That was definitely quite exciting. But no, I didn't get a lot of friends at that time. Was too busy with looking around the castle with my bestie. Kaya smiled. She spent too much time on exploring and just now she was starting to get new friends. Sounds strange for extrovert, but when she's too much into exploring, that's quite alright.

Kaya giggled and nodded. They still could have something like practice or some hobby together. However, she thought it would be nice to actually see Devon playing. Surely it would be quite interesting and a nice way to support.

Yeah, in my first year. It was nice, but I'm way too proud of being in Ilvermorny. However, I agree with you, ceiling looks really astonishing. I'd like to have something like that in my room when I will be adult. Kaya smiled. She definitely missed so much opportunities for making new friends earlier, but at least this time she was changing it.

Devon nodded at Kaya’s statement about the giant room. “I completely agree! It feels just so different. I bet, there is so much space!” She giggled at Kaya’s joke. “I agree, also, that there must be a reason for why this room is so big. I wonder how much trouble they get into.”

“Cool! Aw! Looking around with your bestie must have been fun. I’ll have to see if my bestie wants to do that, too,” Devon smiled. Her green eyes twinkled, before turning to look at Kaya. “Since you’ve been here before, would you mind showing me around? Or at least to whatever you think is interesting around here?” She asked, giving her a smile.

“The little I know about Hogwarts came from reading a little about here before we came.” Her eyes grew wide for a moment, before flushing. “That is if you have the time. I don’t want to keep you from something more important than being with a weird first-year. Sorry. I sometimes talk before I think,” she giggled.

“I completely agree, I love Ilvermorny, too. I still find things like this to be interesting,” Devon laughed. Her green eyes looked back to the ceiling in the room, before looking back at Kaya. “I could only imagine how much magic must be used to make it,” she smiled. "I do think it would be cool to have as an adult."

Kaya chuckled at the statement. Imagine holding in this room all the Hogwarts students divided by their houses. And plus every ball we are coming. Sure they do need to have so huge room to still have enough space. She laughed. It wouldn't make sense in magical place to not have enough space for everyone. Not with that big castle they were currently standing in.

Hearing Devon speaking about showing her around the Hogwarts and apologizing afterwards, Kaya smiled fascinated. You don't need to apologize. And while I might be surely less good at showing you all the interesting places here than some Hogwarts student, I definitely can do it using my own experience. She mused enthusiastically, not minding going there again.

However, the last words caught Kaya's attention even more. Much magic? For something not too complicated like this? Maybe this girl wasn't from wizarding world prior to Ilvermorny? That would explain all the excitement. I don't think it would be complicated. This spell doesn't seem to be difficult in my opinion. The reason I want to do it as adult is that I will have my own mansion and I will be able to freely use magic, not in non-maj world though, but I don't plan to live in there. I don't even have non-maj money. She laughed.
