Initiating the Socialisation Finished

The noble girl selected her words carefully without much effort and Meenauh thought that she would like to learn that as her own speech seemed to be overfilled with long sentences and could sound too scientific for a casual chat. But also the conversation didn't quite look like a casual chat at all.

She took another bite, chewed it for a while, gathering her thoughts. Then she turned towards the girl and went down to a very quiet voice, though not exactly whispering:

"You see, I feel like we have much in common, although we may seem like completely different personalities. I didn't have any type of traditional education you probably had, and all the tutors and stuff. My father and my mother shared a lot of what they knew about all the Noble Houses out there and how children are educated. I didn't have that, but I had touched both worlds, muggle's and wizard's, to a certain extent, which I think is more of an advantage rather than time wasted in vain. I know that most Noble houses out there seek power in different areas and though I'm not interested in politics and I don't even know your name, I think that you wouldn't lose an opportunity to grasp power if there'd be one," she paused for a second to check whether the face of the girl changed, but, bloody Merlin, she was relaxed and calm as a stone statue, "I'm saying all this so that you could perceive my sincerity and openness to meaningful alliances. And to answer your question — if I would find out that you feel the same as I do right now, and probably spent the previous night wondering what the hell Godric Gryffindor was thinking when he created the hat, I would think this is quite a foundation for the common affairs that may lie ahead of us."

She looked over the girl's robes, glittering with cleanliness, and noticed part of her wand, carefully stored in something attached to her waist. For a moment she dared to think of the impossible things and her heart started to pound faster.

"I'm sorry, but is that chestnut wood? Chestnut wood and ...?"

Lucian smirked, finding this girl's air to be quite attractive, knowledgeable. yet curious enough to be vulnerable. As for her use of the word alliance, well, that quite appealed to Lucians senses.
"Unicorn hair." She stated plainly, looking down at her wand but keeping it sheathed, being quite protective of it. It seemed as if this determined Gryffindor knew of Lucian's plans already, and although this was quite impressive to her, it also made her slightly wary of the female's intentions. Nevertheless, she believed it was time to introduce herself.
"As for my name, Lucian Grey." She bowed her head slightly, extending her arm in the firm, powerful handshake her parents had spent so much time educating her on. The Family Grey had always valued first impressions over all else, believing that a first impression could make or break what one thought of you, as well as the future opportunities you may possess; she too had adopted this mindset, making it plain to all she came in contact with that this was a business affair, and nothing further.
"We do seem to have quite the common mindset when it comes to Sorting affairs. I would not like to insult such noble wizards as Godric Gryffindor himself, however, the situation we seem to be presented with is quite perplexing." She looked around the Great Hall, examining the beautiful structures.

"Unicorn hair," she murmured in unison as the girl finished the sentence after her. Her mind went blank. Her jaw dropped in her mind, she held her breath in plain shock, although she tried hard to prepare for that moment in case her impossible assumptions would turn out to be precisely true. But still, she didn't dare to breathe.

That was one of the moments when you didn't quite realise what was the reality and what was not. Whether the universe had its own plans, directed its own scenarios in a play, and you just had to play a role. The girl finally introduced herself, which Meenauh considered a meaningful accomplishment, and then extended her arm for a handshake, which Meenauh absently accepted without breaking the eye contact and still not breathing.

As Lucian continued to speak, Meenauh allowed herself to breathe, but her mind was still blank and Lucian's words went past her as if she couldn't hear them.

"...quite... perplexing," she repeated the last words after Lucian with a much longer pause between the words and very slowly reached into her robes. In the same slow manner, she carefully retrieved her own wand as if it was made of glass, and placed it on the table right in front of Lucian.

"Chestnut wood and unicorn hair."

Lucian raised her eyebrows, shock erupting throughout her body, yet keeping her exterior completely still, her face calm and collected. She had adapted her poker face at a young age when coming with her brother, Salem, on his business trips throughout Knockturn Alley; selling faulty potions for extreme amounts of money, poisons to people whom Salem had told her "he said they needed to be gone", buying extremely elicit magical properties from dark strangers. Her experience in the illegal and mystical had given her extreme control over her emotions, and this was one time she was very glad to have it. Despite this however, the situation was all very strange. This mysterious girl approaching her at breakfast, seemingly knowing Lucian didn't belong, attracting her curiosity, then pulling out a wand quite identical to hers. The situation was very peculiar indeed.
"What a funny little coincidence." She smiled down at the two wands, making light of the situation as best as she could, wanting to hear the other girl's thoughts before she even began to explain some of her own. Looking over at Meenauh, she noticed the girl's stoic face and chuckled lightheartedly. "Although you obviously don't seem to think so. What seems to be on your mind, pet?"

Lucian was taught to keep the still face from the best, indeed. There was no universe in which that wouldn't surprise a person, even ten times more sceptical than Lucian. Meenauh came back to her senses during the long pause, which was caused by the unexpected revelation with the two wands.

"At this exact moment, I wonder whether these two, I mean the wands, could be sisters. Like from the same piece of wood, the same unicorn, etc. But in general, I think that it's some sort of a quest, or a plot, or something. Though I don't remember interacting with anyone or anything that could influence my thinking or memories. Well, unless the hat is able to perform Memory Charms by itself, which I extremely doubt. And I wouldn't call it a little coincidence, if a coincidence at all."

She finished eating long ago, but only now the remaining food started to disappear along with the plates, cups and cutlery, which indicated that the breakfast was over.

"It seems the breakfast is over and I guess we need to think about all this and what it all could mean, and then I would want to request another rendezvous with you, if you would find it intriguing enough to discuss everything thoroughly in a place a bit more silent and comfortable, with fewer ears around," she said to her recent acquaintance, sounding particularly interested in further interactions, and silently hating the breakfast to be over that quick.

Lucian frowned slightly at what the girl had said, a quest? This wasn't some sort of fairytale; this was real life, free of mad, thickening plots and "quests". However, she was intrigued by the girl's energy, and felt as if she could be useful in advancement later on in her wizarding career. For this purpose, she nodded her head.
She had many things she still needed to add to her repertoire when it came to interactions with this girl, but until they could be in a more private place, none of that could occur. she watched as the food was began to slowly disappear, having realized she hadn't quite eaten all that much; she had been quite preoccupied with her new acquaintance.
"It would be wise to meet up again. After all, as you said, this could be some type of quest, and it would be foolish of us to dismiss it as nothing else but." She thought for a moment, wondering how she would go about this, needing to establish her role then and there before she and Meenauh went their separate ways.
"I will send for you when I am ready for you. Do not make contact with me until I do, or else I may begin to rethink this acquaintance. We will speak again soon I'm sure, at a much more opportune and private time."

The noise increased in the hall as children started to pack their belongings to leave, as Lucian gave her instructions on how to not contact her before it was time. Meenauh chuckled at that, as she remembered they were from the same House, well, at least on paper, and shared the same Common Room. So the chances of bumping into each other were quite high, but Meenauh knew exactly what Lucian meant by that. And she knew that it was a very nice beginning of the school year.

She hastily stood up, took her pouch and said the last words before departure:
"I will not contact you before you will send for me. Unless the universe has any other plans for our next meeting," she grinned at the girl, bowed and went her own way from the Great Hall.

There still was the time before the classes, so she decided she needed to think of something completely different and fill her head with thoughts as distant from the morning acquaintance as possible. And she headed to the place she planned to visit very often throughout the upcoming days, weeks, months and years. No other place could serve the purpose of filling her head with thoughts and knowledge, so without much hesitation, she made her way to the library.
