Errand Information can be found here.
Mateo had been hard at work transforming the Library into a starry haven. Simple astrological decorations had been placed across the room and enchanted to float around, offering the room a celestial vibe, in celebration of Global Astronomy Month. Alongside his preparations, Mateo had also enlisted the Astronomy professor, Gargamel Starwise, and his Astronomy Interns to help with the errand at hand.
By the Librarian's desk, a large variety of poster-making supplies were neatly sorted. Markers, coloured pencils, large sheets of paper, etc, are all readily available for the students to utilise. On the desk lay a poster of instructions for the errand ahead. Once they had read the instructions, students would be free to grab some materials and take a seat.
Hello, and a happy Global Astronomy Month to you all! Myself and Professor Starwise have prepared an opportunity for you to do some research and show your knowledge on all things Astronomy-related. Today, you have the opportunity to utilise the Library's vast resources to learn more about a topic in Astronomy that you're particularly interested in, and then display that new knowledge (in the form of a poster or essay, for example). Once completed, please leave them on my desk, and they will be displayed in the Library for the remainder of the month. If you need any assistance, please feel free to ask myself, Professor Starwise, or any of his Astronomy Interns for some help. Have fun, and happy learning!

║ Minnie smiled as she walked into the library for the astronomy task. As an intern, she would be helping out, but she also really wanted to do an essay on the sun. Yes, she was that nerdy. She waved at her astronomy professor and looked around the room, hoping that she wasn't too early. "Um...is there anything I should do professor?" She asked quietly, she shyness coming in. "And...could I do an essay on the sun? Are interns allowed to do that or are we just here to help out?" Minnie blushed and looked away. I really do want to help out. And I also want to write an essay. Hmm...I hope I can do both. She walked a little closer to the area the professors had set up.
Ooh. I can totally write an essay with this sort of paper. All I have to do is write down all the insanely cool facts. Especially with the solar eclipse coming tomorrow! It would only be partial, which was sad, but it would still be cool. Minnie would talk about the solar flares as well, and also other fun and exciting facts about the sun. She was going to rock this report, and she knew it herself. But first, she needed approval from the professor.
Hoping the students would come soon, she started pacing slightly, walking back and forth and trying to stop the nerves in her body from exploding. She bit her lip, her nervous habit coming out as she waited, trying not to imagine what might happen when and if someone asked her for help. Would she know what to say? She certainly hoped so. Minnie stopped pacing with an effort and instead started to look at the rows and rows of library books to calm her down. It only helped a tiny bit.
Why am I so nervous? I know a bunch about the stars and planets, and I did some extra studying for this especially. I've got this. Minnie started to calm down as she thought about how prepared she was. She walked back to the professor for his answer, hopeful it would be a good one. People would soon start coming in as she had gotten there only a little bit earlier than she was supposed to. But she was ready to help them, ready and willing.║

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn skipped into the library with a bright smile on her face, her bag bouncing against her hip with her Astronomy textbook. She had also brought a muggle Astronomy book, as well, detailing information about the Zodiacs. She heard of this constellation Astronomy task and knew she wanted to take part in it. She enjoyed Astronomy, both from her muggle school and here at Hogwarts. She just knew this was going to be a fun one. As she stepped foot into the library, she saw a very familiar head of blue hair and blushed bright red. ‘Oh fudge … Minnie’s here? Oh wait, that shouldn’t be that surprising. She also likes Astronomy … duh. But, ugh, one of the first people here? Not that I mind seeing her, but … well, if I’d have known, I would’ve straightened up by clothes, maybe made these pesky strands of hair stay put, and maybe even started on that essay … Then I can impress her with my knowledge,’ she thought.
“H-Hi Min-Minnie,” Kaitlyn stammered, glowing scarlet. She noticed the large variety of poster-making supplies and instructions by the Librarian’s Desk. Her blue eyes scanned the instructions. ‘Oh goodness, so many good options. An essay or a poster. Both of which I’m good at. And I wonder if a poem would count for that? I have so many choices and so little time to decide.’
Knowing the presence of the cute Hufflepuff was nearby, Kaitlyn took a seat at one of the tables, flushed bright red, and she fiddled with the hem of her skirt. She took out her Astronomy textbook and the muggle book she had brought with her. She expertly opened both to the subject she intended to write about, her Zodiac sign: Sagittarius. She glanced shyly at Minnie. ‘As much as I’d love her help, I’d also like to impress her … and I doubt I’ll be the only one here, and they might actually need help…’ She talked herself right out of saying anything and the shy Slytherin began to write on a sheet of parchment.Reducio

Emily couldn't hurry quicker to the Library even if her life depended on it, but she was desperate, if not excited, to contribute to this fun little event set up by the Astronomy staff. Emily often contradicts what her top favourite subject is at Hogwarts, but she could not question without a doubt that Astronomy was definitely in the top three of her list.
She flew into the library with full energy and marvelled at the decorations around the room. She spotted some floating decorations that looked like stars and models to represent the Solar System. It all took her back to her very first Astronomy class of the year, which she enjoyed very much. She had her Professor to thank for that.
She spotted the instructions for the tasks on the desk and read them carefully, examining the materials left for her and students like her across the table. Already her head was swimming with ideas and she hadn't even finished reading the instructions yet.
Either a poster or an essay... Hm...
Emily snapped her fingers confidently as she came to her decision. An essay it was. She loved writing essays. She could write pages and pages of any topic thanks to her eager energy to prove her knowledge. And for Global Astronomy Month in particular, she could write about any star or any planet known to man thanks to all the reading she's done, both inside and outside the classroom.
She grabbed a few sheets of parchment and a quill to get started with, as well as lifting out her textbook alongside another book she had borrowed from the library for light reading. She got settled at a desk and started flicking through her books to find something to write about.
Something interesting... Something unique... Nothing too complicated, but it can't be too generic either...
Then she found it.
Saturn's moons!
Emily always had a strange fascination with Saturn, so this felt like a perfect choice for her. She was about to get busy until she spotted two familiar students. She beamed as she spotted Minnie from her House, and Kaitlyn whom she met just a few days ago. She skipped over and greeted them both.
"Hi! Fancy seeing you here!"

Mia walked stedaly walked into the library acting like she wasn't nervous though she totally was. What if it isn't made correctly? She had allot of questions and scenarios like that floating about in her head. She was already here so there was no turning back now. She walked around the few people that were there already. She was trying to be the first so there weren't so many people but it was just three people and a teacher. Wait a teacher! Oh no what if I am graded now! Does it count as a grade? She walked to the far end out of the adult's sight and set out her poster. It had a few pictures of the Quadrantids Meteor Shower all across it and the words Quadrantids Meteor Shower in big cursive font in the middle. She had to admit that it was a good poster for her work. She saw that the other students were doing essays. Mia looked around and noticed there were no other posters and she didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb so she decided to do a essay on the Quadrantids Meteor Shower as well. She walked over to a table near the back and was relieved to find that she brought her textbooks with her. She opened it up, got out her parchment and quill, and started to write.

Axyen was in the Hufflepuff Common Room, he was getting pretty bored so he decided that he would go to the library to read. Axyen got up and left his common room, he began walking to the library which was one of the only places in Hogwarts he could find without getting lost. Axyen entered the library to find that it was space-themed...? 'What's going on here?' Axyen asked himself, he was pretty confused but he was sure he could find his answer one way or another. Axyen began to walk, walking to where the librarian's desk was. 'Maybe I can find my answer by just asking the librarian?' Axyen thought to himself as the desk came into view. It had a poster which contained instructions, this should provide Axyen with an explanation about why the library looked a little different.
Axyen swiftly read the contents of the paper in front of him. 'Wait, it's Global Astronomy Month?' Axyen rhetorically asked himself. 'That explains the new appearance! I should probably continue reading. Axyen thought as he began reading. Axyen was finally finished with reading the instructions and his eyes lit up almost immediately, he didn't consider himself to be a skilled artist, but he did consider himself to be a decent writer. 'I'll make an essay then!' Axyen thought to himself, there were so many astronomical subjects Axyen could think of, the main issue was just picking one to focus on. Suddenly, Axyen randomly remembered his conversation with the former Astronomy professor Octavius Baird, they were talking about the potential existence of extraterrestrial life outside of earth. 'That's it, that will be my conversation topic, the possible existence of aliens!' Axyen thought to himself, he was actually proud of his idea. Now all he needed to do was pick up a few books and begin his research before drafting his essay. 'This should be fun' Axyen thought to himself with a smile.
Axyen first began doing research on the possibilities of aliens existing, Axyen also began to remember his conversation with the former astronomy professor. With this knowledge, Axyen felt ready to start writing out his essay, but at the same time Axyen wanted to look at a couple of more space-related books to see if he could find anything else to write about. Axyen started to read and read, and he might've gotten a bit distracted along the way as he found himself suddenly reading a book about space that had nothing to do with aliens at all, he quickly realized that he let himself get too distracted. 'Oh no! I got sidetracked, I have to start making my essay now!' Axyen thought to himself as he got a big piece of paper and began to write.
All About Aliens
By Axyen Dragonclaw.
Did you know that on Mars, according to NASA(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) found a ton of ice on Mars? Aliens are living beings that are depicted in many different ways, they are speculated to exist while other people believe they do not exist. What's interesting is that ice is also known as water, so how would a planet that's considered uninhabitable get ice which can melt into water? Something so important to us is on another planet that we cannot even live on.
Not only that, earth isn't the only planet that's inhabitable by humans, outside of our solar system, far far away, there are other planets that can be a place for humans to live on. That could support the fact that aliens do in fact exist. Plus, spaces is so huge that we are nowhere close to exploring all of it, so there's that possibility.
Overall, there could very well be many aliens out there, from the mysterious ice on Mars to the many planets that can support human life, there is just so many possibilities of aliens existing.ReducioDid you know that on Mars, according to NASA(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) found a ton of ice on Mars? Axyen looked at his paper once he was done with it, it looked odd-looking, perhaps he didn't do a good job in making this essay at all. Axyen felt like the essay was too short, and didn't really focus on much, but he still tried so that was all he could say. He was debating with himself whether he should or should not turn in his essay. After a bit of thinking, Axyen ultimately decided to turn it in. 'What could go wrong?' Axyen thought to himself.

Mia sat down and started writing, then she crumbled up her paper and tossed it over her shoulder. She tryed multiple times untill she threw her quill down in frustration. "UHH! IS THERE A BOOK HERE ON THE QUADRANTIDS METEOR SHOWER! ". Mia noticed after she screamed that she wasn't alone and that this was a library. She looked around at the few people that were looking at her after her sudden outburst. She put her head in her arms and closed her eyes, thinking about what to do next. After a little while she stood up and walked to the closes shelf reading the spines of the well worn books. She loved the smell of the old books but she knew she wouldn't find anything on the Quadrantids Meteor Shower in this area. She moved in and out of the iasles untill the found a few books on space and Meteor Showers. She took them back to the table and started writing with no luck. She just kept crumbling her parchment up and setting them aside. She tryed two more times before looking up and staring off into space. Then it hit her! She stood up pulling her books, quills, ink, and parchment in her arms and going to sit in the row of books on the shelves right next to her. She took a deep breath, the smell of old books calming her and she started to write. About twenty minutes later with only a bit of trial and error she held up her masterpiece. The perfect essay on nothing other than the beautifull Quadrantids Meteor Shower. She walked over to help poster, layed it flat on the table and placed her essay next to it.

The Quadrantids Meteor Shower
Reducio
The Quadrantids Meteor Shower is caused by the Earth passing through the old debris left from the old astroid 2003 EH1. Scientists believe that the astroid came from a comment that could have broken 500 years ago. They first discovered it on the 6th of Martch, 2003. When it was discovered the scientist at NASA classified it as a N.E.O. or Near Earth Object. During this beautiful phanominom you can see up to 100 meteors during the peak. Though that isn't the only thing that sets it apart from all the other meteor showers, infact the greatest difference is how long it lasts. Most showers will last for a few days, but the Quadrantids Meteor Shower only last a few hours. This natural phonominon only occours every year in January so you don't want to miss it. Though again it is a beautiful event it does have some downsides as everything does. This might be harder to see due to the different phases of the moon and light pollutin. To see these beauties you should go to an area away from city lights, because the comments might be balls of fire but they are easy to miss because of their distance and size compared to Earth.

║ "Oh, hi Emily!" Minnie said, smiling, she was then startled when Mia, a girl who she had met once, yelled out of nowhere. Minnie walked over to her to ask what was wrong and then hopefully help her. "Um...hello Mia, is there something wrong?" She asked politely, still taking glances at Professor Starwise for his answer. "You seemed a little upset."
I hope I seem like I'm not being rude or sarcastic, I just want to help. Minnie glanced at the people there and saw Kaitlyn, which made her heartbeat speed up and her thoughts turn to mush. She looked away and took a few deep breaths, reminding herself that now was not the time for silly crushes. She was an intern for astronomy after all. But she couldn't resist taking a few steps towards Kaitlyn and leaving Mia for a moment.
"Hello Kaitlyn, need any help?" Minnie, asked, her face heating up as she blushed. She took a few steps closer to her and breathed in Kaitlyn's scent, which was very nice. I really need to go back to Mia. Yet her heart seemed to want to control her, so it made her chat a little bit longer. "I'm an astronomy intern after all." She glanced at Mia, her heart finally realizing that she should go back. "I have to go help Mia, sorry." Then she walked back over, trying to clear her head.
"Sorry, I had to...talk to someone else for a few seconds. Sorry." Now it must really seem like I'm being rude. "I'm an intern for Professor Starwise, so I'm supposed to help others." She explained, trying to make Mia see that she was not being snobbish. Okay Minnie, deep breaths. Stop worrying, it's not that bad. As she calmed down, she realized that she should also smile, which she did. Everything was just fine.║

interacting with: nobody (directly), but mentions everyone already present in the threadaforementioned poster and post-itWhen asked the question, 'What's your favorite school subject so far?', the answer Scout would give is not Astronomy, or really anything that doesn't require something hands on. Looking through a telescope and writing down little charts wasn't particularly interesting to her, and it wasn't really fun to stay up at midnight just to look at the sky.
But it was pretty, and captivating. Her dreams would explode with gold and white as stars prickled above the odd world in her sleep. She'd learned stories from both class and her father about the stars. Her father focused more on the astrological side of the stories, though. Groups of stars were emperors- 帝, and he'd make up stories about each one. Or the Chinese versions of the stories she'd learn in class. Her interest in Astronomy dwindled after she turned eight or nine, because Scout had come to learn that the things she was told were just that, stories. It's far more boring to learn about fictional stories, rather than real events.
She's not studious, by any means. When she had heard of some students mentioning some astronomy event going on in the library, she decided to peek her head in and see what was going on. Curious, as usual. By the time she had walked into the library (which was rather buzzing, if she were to comment), there were a few students in there already, and the librarian. Write an essay or make a poem, make your choice!
"I don't like writing..." she murmured aloud, walking over to the posterboards and materials. Scout wasn't some artistic genius, but she already had an idea in her mind. You were supposed to research a concept beforehand, and then write about it but... she already had a pretty good idea of what she was going to do, so she just decided to sit down and begin.
Saying she had an idea was pretty toned down for what was actually going on in her head. The idea of making a poster dedicated to some Chinese astronomical mythos was what she wanted to do, but she thought it over and decided to do something else. Those were more of stories anyway, and it wouldn't be very fun to only do a few myths. Not to mention, they weren't real! She would have to do something more broad (and that wasn't just a tale!).
So if mythos were out of the question... she could do a poster on the four symbols in 天文学 Chinese Astronomy? Maybe the professor would think her idea was cool and unique! A part of her was proud that she even thought of that idea herself! It might've been a bit cliche, but she used all ten of her braincells!
Off of the top of her head, she couldn't exactly remember what the stars looked like, so she should just free-hand it. And she should make her handwriting look nicer! Don't dot your I's with hearts, and connect all of your letters. Scout had never been particularly confident in her cursive skills, but especially when she had to write with a quill. How lucky it was that most of the other students in the library grew up with such a thing! Neither of her parents usually wrote (preferring to use magic to get their thoughts on paper), and she had used a pencil all throughout primary school.
Putting the finishing touches on her poster, she took a glance around the room. She really didn't recognize anyone at all, and she really didn't want to hang around. It seems as though the other girls around the library already knew each other, so the thought to just turn in her poster and leave crossed Scout's mind.
Looking over her poster one last time, she decided to add a small post-it note to the corner of the board. If just anyone looked at it, they might not understand what she part of astronomy she was trying to portray, and it wasn't like everyone could just read her artistic expression and know what she was doing!
After adding her post-it, she walked up to the desk and put her poster down with care. Scout had only spent maybe twenty or thirty minutes on it, but it was important to be proud of your work!
