Personality - Nena is a hardworking girl who tends to look on the bright side of things. She’s never been afraid to roll up her sleeves and put in some good, hard work to achieve her goals, and while she is a witch, she’s always preferred to find practical, hands on solutions to her problems. She’s a clever girl, and what she lacks in magical prowess she makes up for in sheer wit and resourcefulness.
She was raised to be kind and generous with others, and to always see the good in people. This leads her not only to be a friendly, sunny girl, but also tends to cause her some naïveté and to sometimes be a bit too trusting of others. She’s quick with a joke or a comeback when insulted, and has a bit of a tougher exterior, making her seem as if any negativity rolls off her back. Background - Nena Knightsworth was born to Reina and James Knightsworth in the city of Bath in England. Her mother was born and raised in Barbados, and attended university in England, where she met her future husband James, and shortly after their graduation, the two were married. Reina was never formally educated in her own magic; everything she knows she learned from her mother and grandmother, as is tradition in her home country. On the other hand, James is a muggle, though he swears he has a magical uncle somewhere on his family tree. A few years after they were married, Nena was born.
Raised in the sleepy suburbs just outside the city, Nena was a bubbly and popular little kid, making easy friends in the neighborhood and in her elementary school. Her magic first manifested when she was three, very early among witches and wizards, though it was never anything spectacular, and she never seemed to have consistent control of her burgeoning powers. She could create little sparks here or there, or cause pencils to levitate off of desks, but sometimes these things would happen at random, and it was discouraging for Nena, as other magical children she knew seemed to be in easier control. Regardless, she was extremely excited growing up at the prospect of attending Hogwarts, an opportunity her mother had always wanted for both herself and her daughter.
Once the owl arrived with Nena’s school list, she couldn’t drag her parents to Diagon Alley fast enough to purchase her supplies, and while her mother and father were practically hanging onto her on the platform when they arrived at the Hogwarts Express, Nena was trying to drag herself away from their grip and hop on the train as fast as possible! Now, she looks forward to gaining better control of her powers, and meeting new friends!
