Let's have a wedding, @AngelFyre McCubbin, but not ours - yet.

Wednesday, 27 March 2024.

Everything was running smoothly. Soft melodic instrumental music played in the background as a trio of violin players moved through their piece, filling Westminster Cathedral of London with a beautiful sound. Today was going to be a wonderful today. Today was the wedding of Simon's Aunt Maggie to a really guy and the Hufflepuff couldn't be happier for them. Today was all about being completely and perfectly and incandescently happy.

The parents of the groom was already escorted from the vestibule to their seats, the priest Father Brian O’Mahony stood at the front of the aisle before the altar, the groom and his groomsmen were lined up facing the center aisle - looking out toward the congregation of guests. The bridesmaids proceeded to the front altar and lined up on the opposite side of the groomsmen, followed by the ring bearer and flower girl who were a niece and nephew of Mark's, the groom.

Once in place, Father Brian motioned for everyone to stand and the music changed, signaling the official start to the ceremony. It was go time.

Here's To Right Now

Simon stood in a rather classic looking suit with the exception that it was a nice light pink next to his Aunt Maggie. She was as beautiful as a bride you would see in a magazine, full of elegance and timeless beauty and for a woman who usually carried a sort of magnetism of grace and kindness and love; today she radiated it. "I can see how happy you are, today Aunt Maggie. I'm equally as happy for you," he whispered to her as they stood at the entrance to the Hall. She smiled to him, touching the side of his face gently. "Thank you my Sincere, Sentimental, Sensational, Sweet Simon."

You're surrounded by your loved ones
And all are wishing you well,
As you create a brand new chapter
In the story that's yours to tell.

He gave her a bright smile before linking his arm with hers and the two began that long walk down the aisle as all eyes were on them. No, correction, all eyes were on her. Simon saw the familiar faces of their church family, the nuns that would often remind him at past dances to 'leave some space for the lord,' of coworkers from the bakery/bookstore that Aunt Maggie owned, of those in the community like Mrs. Higgins, the librarian that lead his youth book club. Neighbors and friends filled the pews, all smiling in adoration for the bride. It was true, Aunt Maggie was a beautiful person - her kindness and generous soul matching her physical beauty. Mark Prescott was definitely a lucky guy, but he was really great himself and Simon was glad that his aunt found such a partner. He couldn't be happier for them.

And as he got about halfway down, Simon noticed that there was perhaps one person who's eyes weren't focused on Maggie Kincaid and that was the beautiful crystal blue eyes of his girlfriend, AngelFyre McCubbin. Upon seeing her, he smiled so brightly, glad she was able to be at the ceremony and to share in this special day for his family.

In their last half of the journey down that aisle, Simon rested focus ahead and paid attention to the way Mark was watching Aunt Maggie - as if everyone else in the room was gone and the closer they got, he placed his hands to his hands up to his face to try and keep his tears at bay. By the time they reached him at the altar he had exchanged tears for a big smile. Simon engulfed Aunt Maggie into a lingering hug, holding onto her tightly a moment before moving over to Mark and presenting him with a tight hug as well. "Here's the start of your happily ever after," he whispered to them both before stepping aside.

Mark took Aunt Maggie's hands into his own and faced her as the priest asked the audience to be seated. "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all," Father Brian began, his strong voice projecting throughout the church. Those that knew the correct Catholic response answered with and also with you.

The priest then continued. "Welcome, all of you. We are gathered here today for one of the happiest occasions in all human life, to celebrate before God the marriage of a man and woman who love each other. Marriage is a most honorable estate, created and instituted by God, signifying unto us the mystical union, which also exists between Christ and the Church; so too may this marriage be adorned by true and abiding love. Who offers support and blessing to this marriage?"

Simon looked to the couple before him. "I do," he said without hesitation and smiling as widely as he could. He now could step back and stand with the others in the wedding party, allowing the bride and groom their time to shine. Once in place, his eyes immediately found AngelFyre in the crowd again.

We talk about the memories
You have yet to make together
And the moments you've already shared
To be carried with you forever.

"Bride and Groom," the priest continued the ceremony, "although life is a gift given to each of us as individuals, we also learn to live together in harmony. Love is a gift to us from our family and friends. Through these gifts of love we learn to ourselves to gift it back. Learning to love and live together is one of life's greatest challenges and is the shared goal of a married life. Mankind did not create love; love is created by God. Therefore, a husband and wife should not confuse love of worldly things with that of Godly love of one another. For even if worldly success is found, only love for one another will maintain a marriage. The measure of true love is a love both freely given and freely accepted, just as God's love is unconditional and free. Today is truly a glorious day which the Lord hath made - as today both of you are blessed with God's greatest of all gifts - the gift of abiding love and devotion between a man and a woman. All present here today - and those here in heart - wish both of you all the joy, happiness, and success that the world has to offer."

But take the time to live today
As your marriage begins,
Look around and soak it up;
the moment we are in.

The Catholic wedding proceeded. There were scripture readings - a sacred scripture that conveyed what they believed God was saying to them about them and their marriage to each other. Then there was a sung responsorial psalm, a second reading, a sung 'alleluia' verse, and a gospel reading. They were long, but at least Father Brian could deliver it well and the passages that were shared weren't too lengthy.

For this is where the magic starts
When you both say your vows.
You pledge to spend your lives as one
Because of the love you feel now.

"Maggie and Mark, as the two of you have joined this marriage uniting as husband and wife, and as you this day affirm your faith and love for one another, I would ask that you always remember to cherish each other as special and unique individuals, that you respect the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of one another. Be able to forgive, do not hold grudges, and live each day that you may share it together - as from this day forward you shall be each other's home, comfort, and refuge - your marriage strengthened by your love and respect."

"To the couple, are you prepared, as you follow the path of marriage, to love and honor each other for as long as you both shall live?" Both answered with an "I will."

"Since it is your intention to enter the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church. Mark and Maggie joined their hands.

"I, Marcus Garrison Prescott, take you, Margaret Elayne Kincaid, to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life."

"I, Margarett Elayne Kincaid, take you, Marcus Garrison Prescott, to be my husband. I promise to be faithful to you, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life."

"You have declared your consent before the Church. May the Lord in his goodness strengthen your consent and fill you both with his blessings. What God has joined, we must not divide. Amen. Oh behalf of God and his Church, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss!"

And they did.

So yes, here's to a future
that is bright and warm and clear.
But more than than, here's to right now
And what it means to be here.

The Pictures in Her Head @Simon Kincaid
Wednesday - 27 March, 2024

She did not know why she was nervous, exactly, but she was. It was not AngelFyre's wedding after all, but it was Aunt Maggie's, and AngelFyre had come to love Aunt Maggie almost as much as Simon loved her. She wanted nothing more in the minutes leading up to the processional than to feel that everything would be as beautiful and meaningful for both Maggie and Mark as they both hoped for themselves and for each other.

And of course there was Simon. She had video chatted with him for about half an hour on her train ride into London that morning. She knew he was going to be too busy to see her and her parents before the ceremony, but it was their habit to video chat each morning, and even this day was no different. She wanted to model her hat for him so that as he walked Aunt Maggie down the aisle, he could more easily find her in a sea of guests. That was assuming he would not be too nervous or have his thoughts too singularly focused on the beautiful bride walking next to him to even look for his girlfriend. If AngelFyre knew her fellow, nervousness would not be the emotion he would be feeling. And it was what he was feeling that she could not wait to talk to him about afterwards.

She had been inside his church just briefly on her first visit to London that summer of 2022, but everything looked and felt different today. For starters, there were people filling the pews... lots and lots of people. It was so different from her little village church in Stenton. The Westminster Cathedral was larger, a bit darker, and sound moved around the space so much differently than she was used to back home. She felt smaller here. She knew God could... and did... see her no matter where she was, but this was quite something. Imposing and formal were the two words that kept running through her mind.

She was seated closest to the aisle with her mother next to her and her father next to her mother. She had been looking through a hymnal when the processional music started and all eyes suddenly turned, eager to see Maggie Kincaid, the beautiful bride, walk down the aisle to her future's greatest happiness. AngelFyre was, of course, as eager to view the happy bride as anyone else, with maybe the exception of the groom, but her eyes would mostly be locked on Simon. It was such a proud and happy day for him and his Aunt, and AngelFyre could not remember ever seeing him smile as broadly as he was while escorting her down the aisle. The moment he saw her though, she was certain his smile grew even larger. She blushed and smiled widely back at him and turned to face the front as he and Aunt Maggie continued their walk together to the altar.

AngelFyre's eyes misted as it was obvious Mark was teary-eyed himself. When Simon finally turned his Aunt over to Mark's care and stepped back with the others, she was astonished how clear and strong his voice had been in that moment. Her fellow's confidence and strength in joyous moments always amazed her, but when his part was done, she was a bit surprised to find him looking back to her rather than at the bride and groom.

Oh, Simon, my love.

And the lump in her throat formed as his earthy browns met her sea-tossed blues. She listened to the words spoken by Father Brian and enshrined them in her heart. Then she knew why Simon was looking where he was looking, instead of where everyone else was looking, and it just reminded her of how blessed they both were.

Funny how thoughts could take you places. She had seen him in suits before, but what made this wholly different was the circumstance. Her mind was off and running to a day where it would be the two of them standing before the altar, maybe not this particular altar, and definitely not in a pink suit, but that day would be sooner than the parental units sitting with her would likely appreciate, no matter how much they loved Simon.

When the ceremony was over, he found her as quickly as he could and told her he needed to be available for some photographs with the wedding party, but he would meet up with her at the reception. He leaned very close to her and she at first thought he was going to kiss her (right there in church in front of God and her parents!) but he instead leaned over and whispered in her ear that a proper kiss would be forthcoming at the reception, and she better hold onto her hat, pun definitely intended, because it was going to be a doozy.

She laughed quietly and pulled back, squeezing his hand three times. "I sure hope you mean that given the venue within whose walls you are choosing to make such a promise," and she lifted her index finger to her lips and kissed it before reaching to his, softly pressing it to them. "I will miss you until then," she truthfully responded, telling him what he often said to her when they had to part for even a short time.

Always finding @AngelFyre McCubbin, no matter how many people are there

The reception began for guests while the wedding party took their photos - music, food, socializing for those that enjoyed such. It wasn't going to be one of those events where a DJ interrupted the music to do a roll call of the wedding party when they arrived, coming in one at a time to be recognized. No, Mark and Maggie didn't want that kind of acknowledgement; as it might have been their wedding, but they were wanting to share love this day with those close to them. A wedding was a celebration of love and not just for them; even though they did get the added benefit of leaving as husband and wife.

When the photos were taken, Simon was now free of his chaperone/man of honor duties and could book it to join the reception. He passed along some of his church family along the way and greeted them with a smile, thanked them for coming, and socialized briefly. It was good to see everyone but there was one person in particular that he was looking for.

Upon finding her, he was pleased to see she was looking around the at the venue all done up in soft pinks and golds and that her parents were in a conversation with Mrs. Higgins. That left him time to say to her what he wanted to say without embarrassment from being near her parents. It wasn't that he wasn't bold enough to do so, but he just didn't think they'd appreciate it very much. Simon approached slowly from behind.

“I know all eyes are supposed to be on the bride, but I just couldn't take mine off you," he delivered a cheesy pick-up line sort of statement and beamed. It was between that line or 'hey you, wanna be next?' which he felt wasn't as strong as the first. Besides, their time would come.

Are You Ready @Simon Kincaid
Wednesday - 27 March, 2024

"Flatterer," she responded as the nearness and heat from Simon's breath warmed the back of her neck just as her blush warmed her cheeks. Funny how today, for some reason, she was feeling all kinds of bashful in a way she normally was not with him. Maybe everything about what this day represented was just a little overwhelming and shrouded in a deep reverence. She reached up without thinking about it and began to caress her love locket.

Since the day Simon had given it to her at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop almost a year and a half ago, AngelFyre had not even once opened her locket, well, not beyond the moment she opened it in the shop that it is. When he presented it to her, she of course had heard his voice. There was never a question between the two of them about that. But also on that day, when the locket had been opened, she heard Simon proclaim his love and then she heard him ask the single most important question he would ever ask her. Hearing it at that time both elated her and deflated her a bit. She knew so little about how the enchantment worked, making such a thing possible, and because she was not certain if she opened it on some lonely night of missing him that she might hear that same question again, she determined the safest thing to do would be to never open it until the time after he actually did ask.

When he gave it to her, he was so excited, telling her how often he listened to his so he could hear her when he was lonely. If felt a little like a lie letting him go on believing that she did open it frequently, but if he knew the truth, it would all feel, again, rather self-serving on her part. Besides, who was to say the way he would ask her would not be different than what she had heard? Maybe that would change depending upon how his thoughts or plans for the moment itself changed. Who knew? Not AngelFyre, that was for certain, so better safe than sorry. Still, she wore it around her neck every single day and had only briefly taken it off when she knew she would be dealing with a niffler. She was extraordinarily sentimental, it was true, but she was no fool and never one to risk that which she was not willing to lose. And this locket? Well that she most definitely was not willing to lose.

As she was momentarily lost in those thoughts with the locket still between her fingers, Simon slid from behind her and now stood before her. His eyes were drawn to another exquisite piece of jewelry he had given her, but this one he had given to her for Christmas. His hand reached up to her forearm and carefully lowered it as he brought her hand to rest in his, turning the emerald and gold bracelet around her wrist as it slid back down into place. "I hoped you would notice," she remarked quietly, and then she chuckled just a bit.

"My folks still think it is much too expensive a gift for you to have given me and much too grown up, but they did concede I could keep it if I only wore it on very special occasions. I guess that tells you all you need to know about how they feel about your Aunt and this occasion," and she reached up and let her fingers play for a few delightful seconds in his hair, full well knowing she would be unable to displace a single one of his gorgeous chestnut-colored hairs if she wanted to, which she did not. "I have been put on notice that it is to go back into safekeeping once we get back home," and she laughed as she pulled her wrist back a little and turned it back and forth, admiring the deeply rich, gorgeous green stones as they sparkled every which way it was turned.

"So, how are you doing? You looked so mature walking her down the aisle, and I was so proud of you. I kept thinking it was a little backwards though, me watching you walk down the ai-..." and she suddenly stopped, but not soon enough as her cheeks bloomed with yet another rosy blush. She sighed somewhat shallowly and met his soft, bemused gaze, causing her to laugh at her silly self.

"Yeah, yeah. So there are pictures in my head of another day not too, too far in the future, much like this one. Look me straight on, Simon Ezra Kincaid, and deny similar thoughts have not rollicked amongst that rich playground of your mind, and I will, for the first time ever, be able to call you a big fibber, and I know you would not want that hanging over you in the house of the Lord." She held his even gaze and smiled a somewhat, self-satisfied smile, knowing the truth of it. She knew the truth of it the moment he turned to face her during the ceremony.

Looking back down at her emerald bracelet, she teased him even further. "I wonder if when that day comes my folks will still think I am too young for this?" and then they both laughed, but nervously.

Let them, Simon and @AngelFyre McCubbin, eat cake!

"I don't even know how we'll make it work financially so soon but I believe there will be a way. Emotionally, I'll be ready. In all ways, I'll be ready," - to support her, to guide her, to do this crazy journey called life along side her. He already was ready. They were already there. There just wasn't some court appointed document yet or union in the eyes of God but he knew that God knew who they were as a couple. They had talked to him often.

Still, perhaps it was something to touch lightly on - at least for the moment with her parents around. If Iain McCubbin caught hint of what they were talking about he could see him getting pale and clamy and his heart beginning to beat irregularly. No, no heart attacks at Aunt Maggie's wedding!

Simon took hold of AngelFyre's hand gently and walked with her from the Great Hall area of the church and through a corridor that led to the outdoor area. There, there was a sign done in storybook fashion since Aunt Maggie loved books so much, a family trait it seemed as her sister, Simon's mother, adored them and he was quite fond of them as well. The sign showed where everyone was seated for the reception and they found their names - together at the same table with her mother and father.

Tables were set up under a white brightly lit tent and the colors of blush pink and gold seemed to be absolutely everywhere. It was definitely Aunt Maggie's doing. Simon could envision that a good 99 percent of the decisions there were done by Aunt Maggie, if not more, and Mark just nodded and happily agreed.

The signed the guestbook and then passed tables of various sweet tasting things. There were small heart cookies that played homage to the wedding couples' first meeting - when Mark, back then a caterer, was on the phone, frantically stressed over his baker cancelling on a big wedding and Maggie, who just happened to be a baker herself, seated nearby and hearing the conversation. The two had stayed up all night baking literally thousands of cookies and that's how they had first met.

There were other dessert tables with more elaborate cookies, showcasing Aunt Maggie's talents and why her bakery/bookstore that she owned was a five-star establishment. There was a pink and gold wedding cake, as Maggie definitely wanted there to be a wedding cake, and pretty much every type of sweet one could think of. It was Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory - Elegant Wedding Style.

Simon stopped at one of the tables to grab a small cake with a pretty flower edible embellishment on top. "We'll share this," he said to her and smiled. Yes, a cake. It wasn't even lemon probably! But he knew she would like the idea of one cake, one fork, and the two of them. Maybe he could make this sacrifice at weddings, including their own, and it could become a tradition of sorts of this adversary of all things sweet-tasting.

As they made their way more into the tent, music filled the space and the gold sparkle and the light pink made everything feel magical - even if this was his church there in the City of London and held no connection to the wizarding world that he and AngelFyre were a part of. It felt such, but maybe that was just because of the girl by his side. When they got to their table, Simon pulled out her chair for her before taking the space in the one next to hers. Her parents had their belongings placed at the table, but they were up, enjoying some of the photographs on display of Mark and Maggie in their younger years. Simon made mental note to go look at them later - perhaps when he and his girl took to the dance floor. Surely they would!

Simon sat down beside her and looked at the small cake, almost not wanting to destroy it. How Aunt Maggie and her staff could make things of such perfection were beyond him, but certainly they were talented. "What flavor do you think it will be?" he said as he finally got the fork and began bringing it through it. One never could tell with Aunt Maggie, she didn't have a default favorite flavor like he had his lemon.

He brought the bite, now collected on the fork, up to the air to give it a look-over. It could be any flavor, really, as Aunt Maggie was never one to put fake coloring in her batter like red to make it strawberry and the like. She thought it better that way, more natural, and more elegant. "Darling, you're so sweet, you take the cake," he said with a smile as brought the fork closer to her. - Pun intended.

Boop! @Simon Kincaid
Wednesday - 27 March, 2024

"I - I know you will be ready. Never doubted it! But you do know that you will not be alone in that responsibility, right?" and she smiled earnestly at him. "I mean, I am not going to be just lounging around the homestead, eating bon bons and entertaining myself with whatever flights of fancy may enter my brain at any given time while you, single-handedly, support me and the dozen little Kincaids we hope to bring into this world." She tilted her head just a little to the side and grinned at him. “You do know that, right?”

He grinned back at first and then she was utterly charmed by the look of caution bubbling beneath the surface of his thoughts. Simon and AngelFyre having these sorts of discussions back at Hogwarts was one thing. If overheard by anyone there, it would be none of their business, but it would not, most importantly, present any issues for the two otherwise. Discussing such topics at an event her parents were also attending, however, had the potential to be quite explosive if overheard by older, protective McCubbin ears, and no one needed that at Aunt Maggie's wedding, or anywhere else for that matter. Being around her father was the only time AngelFyre ever saw Simon, metaphorically, walk on eggshells. As time went on, however, she could tell his guard was almost always up, but he was learning to find his comfort zone with her father.

Then a plethora of fireworks went off in her mind as she wondered if Simon would ask her father for her hand before he even ever asked her? She quickly looked down as she felt the heat rise in her cheeks. Of course he would. Simon may be dancing on eggshells now, but she knew her fellow. None of this was because he was scared of her father. He just did not want a miasma of bad feelings to color anything between any of them. It would be a sad, unfortunate start for the happy couple if it ever happened, and Simon would be wise enough to know that. When he determined the time had come, she knew he would approach it with the utmost confidence and degree of respect. There would be no walking on eggshells then. He knew, even now, how the story ended on that score.

But what she would not give to be an Animagi and be able to be a fly on the wall when the big ask did take place. Ah well. Some things were just not meant to be, but she suspected Simon would know her well enough... heck, he knew her well enough now... to know that she would pester him to the ends of the earth to know every single detail he could remember of that particular conversation. Luckily for her she knew him well enough now to know he would happily relay them without her even having to ask.

As he took her hand and led the way to the outdoor reception, her thoughts were brought back to the present. It crossed her mind to wonder whether Simon was actually aware of her own, personal wealth? She knew she had mentioned to him that she had modeled when younger. What she had not really lingered upon was how lucrative it had been. Her boy was not blind though. She clearly came from wealth, but he likely assumed it did not necessarily mean that she herself was wealthy in her own right.

She tucked the whole subject away in a to be discussed later compartment of her brain. His thoughtful tone and confidence in claiming that he would be ready emotionally and in all ways when their time came gave her great comfort, but they were here, right now, to celebrate Aunt Maggie's big day, and celebrate they would.

The courtyard was tastefully appointed and beautifully decorated, even if it was a little too awash in pink and gold for AngelFyre's taste. Still, the pink was not a revolting Pepto Bismol or Malibu Barbie kind of pink. That would have been simply vomitous. Simon's beloved Aunt Maggie was a lot of things, but garish was certainly not one of them. AngelFyre was delighting in looking at absolutely everything around them as Simon walked them over to a table laden with cookies almost too beautiful to eat and the showstopper that was the wedding cake. She was surprised when he picked up a small, single serving cake with edible flowers and stated that they would share it.

What?

He detested sweets, but she cocked her head a bit and studied him briefly before deciding she was all in no matter what her fellow was up to right now. Gallant as always, he pulled her chair out for her and she sat down, her eyes seeking his immediately. As he set the cake plate down in the space between them, she suddenly became aware of her hat and reached up, deftly finding the hat pin and removing it quickly with barely a hair moved out of its place. After replacing the hat pin in the ribboned banding, she turned to the side opposite from Simon and hung it on the back of her chair. As she was securing it, she heard him ponder, "What flavor do you think it will be?"

She turned back just in time to see the piece of cake he held before him on the slender, silver fork. He had a somewhat intent look as he considered it and then his pearly white smile lit up his face as he moved the tined utensil towards her. "Darling, you're so sweet, you take the cake," he practically cooed, and his oh-so-proud-of-himself look, in addition to his pun, made her just giggle.

"It has taken almost two years, but I do believe my punny self has finally begun to rub off on you. Well done, Mr. Kincaid," she said appreciatively, not only for the bite of cake, but for his cute pun. As she leaned forward to receive the tasty delectable, he got even more playful. Instead of just placing the fork on her tongue, he moved it in slow, tight circles before her mouth and nose. She very quickly decided to close her gaping mouth and pursed her lips together, letting her eyes leave him to focus on the wide, looping circles that were spiraling into smaller, tighter circles in front of her mouth. He said nothing but kept his focus on the fork and her lips just beyond it. She definitely picked up the aroma of almonds and brown butter and was aware that her salivary glands were kicking into high gear. She knew that Aunt Maggie was a maestro when it came to her baked goods, so he had her in a standoff she was never in a position to win. But still, she focused on the same fork before her with a different pair of lips behind it. She took a deep breath in and one articulated brow arch later, she smile-smirked with a bit of incredulity in her voice when she finally spoke.

"Are you seriously waiting for me to open up my mouth so we can play the game of airplane hangar?" and she chuckled a bit. He spoke not a word, but his smile widened, coloring outside the boundaries of his lips. His hand remained steady before her, but he reinforced his entrenchment in this all or nothing gambit of his when he rested his other elbow on the table. Lifting his forearm in a perpendicular fashion to the table top, he rested his chiseled jawline in the palm of his hand and moved his focus from the fork to her azure eyes. He slow nodded and then brought the fork's edge to the tip of her nose and said simply, "Boop!" as he delicately iced the tip of her nose with the frosting and then moved down to do the same with her lips.

They both stared at one another, neither making a move at first. Simon then adroitly swiveled the fork about 90 degrees from where it had been before leaning over to kiss her buttercream frosted lips. When he pulled back, he had a little dollop of the icing on his cheek. Now it was her turn to lean over to him, but not before looking to make certain her parents were still staring at photographs of the bride and groom as youngsters. She reached up and mostly encircled his wrist before bypassing the fork to flick her tongue out and across his cheek. “No matter how well Aunt Maggie bakes, it is nothing compared to the taste of you.”

She pulled back to look at him before giving in and opening the runway up for business. “Time to bring this plane in for a landing,” and she closed her eyes, awaiting the mouth-watering deliciousness she knew was coming her way. What she did not know was whether it would be the actual bite of cake or more of her tasty Hufflepuff.

Either would be fine, but she did hold a secret preference for one over the other.

Celebrating and spending time with @AngelFyre McCubbin

Cocktail hour ended, if one could call it that at the church and the newly married couple arrived. A welcome speech was had with thanks given for coming delivered to their guests. Dinner was had, cake was cut, and now it was time for dancing. If there was anything that he knew that would stand out in a situation that AngelFyre would most likely like best, it was the dancing.

"My apologies Mrs. McCubbin. Mr. McCubbin, but I must steal your daughter away from your presence for a moment to whisk her away to the dance floor," and he stood, extending his hand out, palm up, for AngelFyre to take. They had many good conversations there at the table over dinner, mostly about the animals in the sanctuary back in Stenton and upcoming Spring Break plans.

Spring Break was something he was most looking forward toward. The past few days had been with Aunt Maggie at his side, but after this evening she would be going off with her new husband to their honeymoon destination and Simon would be going with the McCubbin Clan for the rest of the break. Any time he got to spend with AngelFyre was amazing to him - and he had some making up for lost time if one considered the fiasco that was his Winter Break.

While he did get to see AngelFyre then, it was only shortly and when she visited him in St. Mungo's after a.... well, let's call it an 'accident' although there were hints that maybe there was very little accidental about the situation.

Regardless! Dancing awaited!

It was the start of a new marriage for Mark and Maggie Prescott but it was also the start of Spring Break for Simon Kincaid and AngelFyre McCubbin as they continued on their Fourth and Third year at Hogwarts.

Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)
