Dearest Father,
I've written mother every week as always. I am most grateful for the care packages you both send. I've been sorted into Ravenclaw as I'm certain you've heard by now. It might not be what you would have envisioned for me, but I plan to make the best of my time here.
Recently I tried out for the Quidditch team. I do so hope I make it, perhaps I can help my house win a trophy as you did in your school days. It's exciting, and I can't quite describe how freeing it feels to fly. Of course it's only an extracurricular activity. Time management is an important skill, and I plan to show an ability to adequately organize my time. I've already created a schedule to ensure it doesn't effect my studies. I'll write again when I get my first grades.
