It was a beautiful day. The sun was peeking out from behind the clouds, and a light breeze was blowing through the gardens. A young boy walked along the rows of plants, stepping on carefully manicured lawns. His polished black shoes felt uncomfortable, pinching his feet. He ignored the pain, though, and continued walking, back straight and head up. He needed to act like the noble he was, the noble his family wanted him to be. Stopping to inspect a flower in a vibrant shade of purple, Adrien smiled. He loved walking in the gardens, seeing the lovely nature all around him. It was nice to get a break from his studies once in a while and come out here to enjoy the sun.

The breeze stirred once more, blowing a few strands of his brown hair astray. Straightening up, Adrien continued on his way through the gardens. The corners of his mouth pricked up in a smile again as he closed his eyes, savouring this moment. The only sound was that of his shoes crunching down on the gravel path. In some ways, he missed his home back at the manor. In others, though, he was glad to be away. His parents, although he suspected they loved him deep down, had never shown very much affection. They were very strict, and Adrien felt he was constantly under pressure to live up to their expectations. He did miss the grounds of the manor, though. He would roam the gardens and forests for hours, until his parents were worried that he had gone missing. At least these gardens at Beauxbatons were somewhat similar. Adrien continued on his way.
