Ariella kicked some of the books on the floor away, her arms aching. She felt upset about her current situation, maybe she had started the whole problem. After all, she had initiated the fight with the first blow. But Howie was the one who made Erin fly into those bookshelves.

Honestly, Ariella was surprised she had made it out alive.

The whole thing was sort of a blur. So... what had happened? The event flashed past her eyes endlessly. The mass of the bookshelf and the books descending upon her... what had happened after that? She had spent almost two hours in the hospital wing among the people who had helped destroy the library but had left immediately after that. And now, she was wandering through the destroyed bookshelves, feeling sorry for herself.

She slipped on the books and fell onto the ground.

"Ow," She muttered, climbing to her feet. A couple of people glanced her way, and probably recognised her. Ariella wasn't sure why she was here, probably to say sorry to herself for being such an idiot and starting a fight. She picked up one of the books and looked up. She had been stared at a lot recently, and nothing had changed. She had made way too much mess in the first year, who knew what would happen next - probably a lot of detentions.

One of the people who was standing around came over to her. They were not participating in the clean-up that would commence later, as they were wearing a Gryffindor uniform. As the person approached her, she turned away, not exactly interested in the matters of this Gryffindor.

Her parents and all their relatives had been in Gryffindor - Ariella was the first Ravenclaw. She hated tradition. Her thoughts shifted back to the sorting ceremony.

"RAVENCLAW!!" The Sorting Hat had yelled out as Ariella had breathed a sigh of relief and went to sit with the rest of her house.

Noticing that the Gryffindor was still standing there, she tried out a greeting.

"So what brings you to talk to a hooligan like me?"

Veronica was beginning to wonder what had attracted her towards the library. She had heard of a small outbreak that had occurred, damaging part of the library itself. She was a bit curious to see what had happened.

She didn't expect to see books covering the ground, shelves out of place, and a female student, who was just kicking the books, moping around in the mess. Veronica was about to warn her about a book that the female had stepped on but was to late as the young girl fell to the ground. "Ow." All Veronica could seem to do was stare. She knew it was rude, but she had to stifle a giggle that was about to leave her small form.

She walked away from the group that had assembled to watch the girl. Veronica approached the girl while picking up a few of the books as she went. "You really should be more careful. Books could harm someone if they're not careful." She offered a small smile as she placed the books that she had picked up back on the shelf. "So what brings you to talk to a hooligan like me?" Veronica giggled, taking in the color of the female's robes. A Ravenclaw. "I'd like to offer my help. It's going to take a while to return the library to its original state before the supposed fight." She extended her hand. "I'm Veronica, but you can call me Roni, Miss....?" She trailed off praying that the Ravenclaw before her would fill in the blank.

Ariella looked up at Veronica, shrugging unnecessarily. The young Gryffindor greeted Ariella in a somewhat kind manner.

"You really should be more careful. Books can harm someone if they're not careful."

Ariella looked blankly at the girl. She knew that the girl was trying to be nice, but she still couldn't stifle the retort that escaped her mouth.

"Yes, I learned that very recently. As you can see from the mess around here. This mess. My mess. The mess that I created."

Ariella went back to kicking the books around as Veronica continued to interact with her.

"I'd like to offer my help. It's going to take a while to return the library to its original state before the supposed fight."

Ariella looked at the girl once again. She seemed nice. Ariella forced out a smile, but she already knew that it looked fake, so she dropped the smile again. Ariella kicked a large volume out of her way, it slipping out of the aisle to join the rest of the books, some of which had separated from their covers and were now sliding around the floor, meaningless pieces of parchment and text.

"The headmaster has a clean-up organised. It will begin soon. I hope to participate in it, considering this is my fault."

Ariella looked back on the dilemma that had happened only a short while before.

"FLIPENDO!!" Howard shouted and with the wave of his wand, Erin was launched back as if the rug had been pulled out from beneath her feet. She did not fight this fate, she did not even try to avoid it. They both needed it. She crossed her arms over her chest and tucked her head forward. Her knees would never meet her chest but they would lift from the ground.

Maybe it wasn't her fault after all. Maybe it was just Howie. It was probably just his fault, and Erin's as well for making that poor boy feel like he needed to fight back. Why was Ariella calling Howie a 'poor boy?' It was pathetic. Ariella should not be pitying Howard. He has Erin for that. The Gryffindor speaks again, Ariella coming somewhat close to tolerating her.

"I'm Veronica, but you can call me Roni, Miss....?" The girl trailed off, obviously expecting an answer. Ariella replied with her own name, in a somewhat sincere manner, still keeping the distance between this girl. She knew more than enough not to meddle with complete strangers among students. Erin had taught her that.

"Paige. Ariella Paige. It's nice to meet you."
