Talking to @AngelFyre McCubbin
Viva smiled. She listened interestedly to what AngelFyre was saying, surprised to hear of a musical she had not seen before. She loved theatre, and had been to many, many productions. "I have not seen it before," she remarked quietly. "Thank you for the recommendation," Viva giggled a little at AngelFyre's next statement. No one could be that bad at singing, could they? "Oh, thank you," Viva said in response to the compliment of her nickname. "I've been called that for as long as I can remember." She tilted her head. AF. She liked it.

Biting her lip as she tried to think of answers for AngelFyre's questions, Viva realised she was starting to feel so much warmer. "Um, I'm not sure what classes I have with her," Viva said vaguely. "Maybe History of Magic, I think? I'm sorry, I just have never met her before. And I am definitely not popular," Viva giggled at this statement. "But I am a good student for the most part, I think." She shrugged. "I'm kind of a perfectionist, so I always spend a lot of time on my work. And I don't have a romantic relationship at this time." Viva blushed, her thoughts inadvertantly darting to a certain hazel-eyed boy before she could help herself. She looked up at sharply at AngelFyre's statement about the girl being jealous. Jealous? Who would be jealous of me... Viva looked down, feeling a bit sad.

She waited as there was a moment of silence, feeling the warm air on her body still. After AngelFyre spoke, Viva nodded slowly. "Okay," she said quietly. "I will." Wait, what?! Dangerous? What's going to happen to me? Her blue eyes were wide as she turned around. She swallowed, and opened her mouth, which suddenly felt dry. "Oh, thank you, I feel much better now," she said. "And much warmer. And I didn't bring a coat," Viva admitted sheepishly. In hind's sight, a foolish decision. She had hoped that it would be warm enough that she wouldn't need one, that now that it was spring she would be fine, but apparantly she had been wrong.

1 March, 2024 - The Great Lake

The girl's eyes grew as large as saucers when AngelFyre suggested she should be in the presence of others for the immediate future. "I apologize if I scared you. It was not my intent. I have no doubt your assailant will be caught before evening's end, but I also believe in being practical. Things almost always sometimes have a way of happening here at Hogwarts so I brought that up only as a precautionary measure. Basically, just try to be a little more aware of your surroundings, yeah? That is all I was really trying to say. Being forewarned is the same as being forearmed," and AngelFyre continued to try to sound encouraging so as to not further scare Viva.

She made a motion with her finger, swirling it in a circle to indicate to Viva to turn full circle one more time for her. She was checking to see if she was dry, but she was more or less studying her, too. She seemed to be a very sweet, nice girl, but she seemed to also be more of a rabbit than a badger, not that AngelFyre thought that was a bad thing at all. A rabbit's instinct was always to stay still or to run... never to inflict hurt or pain on anyone or anything. But they also lacked any effective measures of protecting themselves but for those two options. Badgers, on the other hand, had a bit more spunk, or steel in their spine as her Grandma Ruth used to say. You could push them until you just could not push them any farther, and then the steely backbone made its welcome, and sometimes surprising, presence known. Badgers were kind and loyal, it was true, but they were not the castle doormats for the other Houses to wipe their boots upon.

What AngelFyre did not know in the moment was whether she was with a rabbit or an actual badger.

"Viva, it looks to me like you are dry, but you let me know if there are some spots that still need some attention." She would maintain the Aer Calidus until she received confirmation from Viva one way or the other. In the meantime, AngelFyre had had a few thoughts running circles in her brain. "I was thinking if you are dry, or dry enough, I would walk back to the castle with you. I am not sure how you managed to be out here without a jacket before, but I can be your own, personal hot air fan, along the way if you happen to get too cold now that the sun is much lower in the sky," and she grinned at the first year. "Additionally, before you take a step away from this place, I want you to make certain you have your wand. Getting all the way back to the castle and finding out that it is not with you would be quite problematic."

In the forefront of her mind, however, was the thought that she could also act as Viva's bodyguard contingent as the assailant's whereabouts were a mystery to both girls at the moment. AngelFyre chuckled to herself. Bodyguard might be overhyping it a bit. Perhaps her presence would more appropriately be seen as a deterrence, but either way, if a companionable walk back to the castle kept the girl safe, and opened up a pathway to acquaintanceship or more, AngelFyre would chalk it up to a success.

"Besides, my walking back with you is just an excuse, to get to know a little more about you, if you do not mind sharing, that is. You are under no obligation to do so, so there is no pressure if you would prefer not share anything. And I am, of course, happy to answer any questions you might have as well."

Talking about herself to @AngelFyre McCubbin
Viva blinked, still slightly nervous despite AngelFyre's hasty reassurance. "Okay," she murmured again. She still could feel a knot of worry bubbling inside of her, though, and her brow was furrowed slightly. Viva obligingly turned in a full circle once again, and tried to smile. "I think I'm mostly dry," she said. "Thank you so much." She nodded her head slowly when AF offered to walk her back to the castle. "And I do still have my wand." The brunette lifted it from the pocket of her robes to show the older girl. It was slightly damp, but seemed just fine. She placed it back in her pocket.

As Viva began to take a few steps towards the castle, once again feeling grateful for the warm air that still enveloped her like a blanket, she looked at AngelFyre. "About me?" she asked nervously as she rubbed her hands together. More a nervous tic then actual chills. "Um, well, I'm an only child, and I've lived in the muggle world my whole life. My dad is a wizard, but my mum is a witch. When my dad met my mum, he gave up living in the wizarding world and moved to the muggle world so that my mum wouldn't feel as out of place." Viva paused, blinking again. Why am I sharing all this? She wondered for a moment before continuing. "Um, I love music and play the violin, and I love animals a lot. I don't really know what else you want to know about me," she gave a nervous little laugh.
