Art writing | Notes Matilde’s thoughts on superheroes
Matilde once noticed how her much muggle friends talked about supper heroes. They all seemed to want to fly. It was an odd concept to think about as a witch. The way muggles saw it, she basically was one. Except she didn’t really use her powers for good. To be fair, she was only twelve. Though she could decide to become an auror when she was older, that was basically like a superhero. Matilde hadn’t seen many superhero movies, but she did rather like some of the ones she had watched with her aunt, who was a muggle. Wonder Woman, Spider Man, and Black Widow were some of her favorites. They all seemed to care so much about the people around them. Matilde found them inspiring. They made her want to use her magic for something, to make the world a better place.

Mother’s side
The O’Fionnagans
Matilde is most familiar with this, her maternal grandmother’s side. Matilde’s farm is the ancestral home of this clan. The O’Fionnagans are Irish, through and through, and though they have never been conservative about blood line, would be considered pure bloods for all intents and purposes. They are a red haired, green eyed bunch. The O’Fionnagans have a very strong tradition of matriarchs, and more modernly, often make the choice to keep their last name and give it to their children. The Sight runs through the blood of the O’Fionnagans.
The Darres
Though Matilde has met few members of her maternal grandfather’s side, she knows much about them from many stories. The Darres hail from Norway, where most of them still live. They are very wealthy and also pure blood, but more concerned with this fact than the O’Fionnagans. They are mostly blond with blue and green eyes. There is an unusual number of seers in the Darre family.
Father’s Side
The Foleys
Matilde has very little contact with her paternal grandfather’s side. This is mostly due to the poor relationship her father had with his dad. She knows that they are Irish, and as non-magic as you can get.
The Cassidys
The Cassidys are Irish muggles. Although, the Cassidy family is partly the reason Matilde is a seer. Though she had no way of knowing that her father’s great-great grandmother was a witch, and a seer. Her name was Bridget Isobel Gallagher. She fell in love with and married a muggle, Cassidy. Eventually she gave birth to a baby boy. Unfortunately, when the boy was only three years old, both Bridget and her husband contracted dragon pox and passed away. The boy went to live with his muggle uncle, who didn’t know that his sister-in-law was a witch. The boy never found out who he was, because he never exhibited magic. Even so, he passed on the seer gene to his ancestors, and eventually, Matilde.

Its faint, but a distinctly rose scent. There may be another flower scent in there, but you can’t quite tell what it is.
