Rosie giggled. "Me too! Although its pretty funny afterward!" Her smile widened as she remembered the memory.


She was reading To Kill A Mocking Bird the fifth or sixth time, Coral was in the backyard, trying to speak to a rabbit and Rosie accidentally tripped over Coral, trying to get inside the house. 'That was funny, she was mad at me for weeks!' Rosie thought, her eyes lighting up.

After hearing Kaitlyn talk about potions Rosie smiled and said, "I don't think the hospital wing'll do that but it could be worth a try! And if that doesn't work, actually making the potion sounds great! I've always wanted to make a potion."

"Ok, I hope it doesn't either!" Rosie said after Kaitlyn said reading outside with a timer is fun. 'I wonder if I won't be so stiff and have aching muscles afterwards?' Rosie asked herself.

After Rosie listened to Kaitlyn talking about she completely gets reading, Rosie's thoughts lifted. "It is, I can't stand people to hate to read!" She exclaimed.

"You're lucky, Kaitlyn! I have two brothers and five sisters! Before this year, it would be a mouthful during the summers," Rosie continued excitingly with a hint of jealously.

Kaitlyn giggled at Rosie’s statement and nodded. “I mean, t-that is true. It can make for memorable m-moments,” she concurred. ‘I’m thankful that I haven’t hurt myself yet from tripping around. I do my best to be careful, after all,’ she thought.

“I hope so. Y-you deserve to feel better. I hope we e-eventually learn a potion or something that w-would help. I think it would be f-fun to brew a potion, though. I’m s-sorry I can’t be of more help in that d-department,” she apologized.

Kaitlyn giggled at Rosie’s statement about not standing people who don’t read. “I don’t k-know if I’d go that far … but I don’t u-understand people who don’t. It’s like, y-you have a whole world at your f-fingertips from a book. You can imagine y-yourself in that world, interacting with all of the o-other characters. That’s half the fun of r-reading a book. I don’t understand how s-someone cannot have that wonder in their m-mind,” she replied.

“Oh, you h-have a lot of siblings. At least you have a bunch of f-family members to hang out with here, e-even if you don’t know too many other students. I j-just have my twin sister Abigail to keep me company. But, y-you seem friendly!” Kaitlyn exclaimed.

Rosie chucked as she exclaimed, "Yes, it can, even Coral said it was funny, after she stopped being mad at me." 'And that was a long time...' Rosie continued for herself.

Hearing Kaitlyn's apology, she said, "How come? I'm sure you're really good at potions, Kaitlyn! If there will be anyone bad at potions, its gonna be me. I tried making potions for fun a while back, and it exploded all over the house, I had to scrub the potions off the wall all day and half of the night that day," Rosie giggled as she remembered the tiring day and how she collapsed on the couch when she finished.

Hearing Kaitlyn's comment about books Rosie's eyes sparkled and widened as if books were the only thing she ever talked about. "Yes, me neither, and like how can some people not see that? How can you not see how that character is like you or another person? Its like the easiest thing ever, in my perspectives," She added, giggling.

"Sometimes, I wish I don't have a lot of siblings, they can be rightfully annoying, and really they are really no help to me, finding friends," Rosie added with a chuckle.

"Sometimes I wish my sibling were just cousins or something and just one of them my sibling," Rosie continued with a giggle.

Kaitlyn giggled at Rosie’s words. “I’m g-glad you and Coral can laugh about it! I don’t k-know what I’d do if I t-tripped over someone,” she acknowledged. “I am also g-glad that you and Coral were u-uninjured,” she continued.

Hearing Rosie mention about potions, Kaitlyn shrugged. “I h-haven’t learned many yet, sadly … For r-reference, I am a muggle-born. This is a-all new to me. But, I’ve liked potions so f-far. I hope to learn more about them. But, I must a-admit, that does sound a little funny, if not t-tiring … If that ever happens in class, I can v-volunteer to help you,” she giggled.

Kaitlyn smiled at Rosie’s agreement about books. “So, e-embarassing story, but I’d ocassionally write f-fanfiction about some of my favorite books. It’d put m-myself in the stories, interact with the characters. It was a-awesome. I cannot imagine anyone not liking to do that, e-either,” she continued.

At Rosie’s mention of her siblings, Kaitlyn giggled and nodded. “I mean, you’re not w-wrong there. Sometimes Abigail and I fight … t-thankfully not too often … And, aw, they don’t h-help you find friends? I would have thought that was o-one of the best ways. Well, I think you’re currently making a friend,” she replied, an honest smile gracing her lips. "Ah, c-cousins are even weirder," she giggled.

Rosie laughed as she listened to Kaitlyn. "Ah, but Coral didn't laugh about until she saw the bunny, unharmed, and that wasn't for a long while!"

"I don't know what I would do if I tripped over a person I didn't know, reading! It'll be embarrassing, its embarrassing thinking about it!" She continued as she covered her mouth as she yawned with a little giggle. 'And it'll ruin my reputation...' Rosie thought, grimacing inwardly.

After listening to Kaitlyn talk about potions she thought, 'Would that actually happen? If that does, it'll ruin my reputation even more than tripping over someone!' "I probably'll be worst than you, not gonna lie! It was funny, but I really hope that doesn't happen," Rosie exclaimed.

"That sounds fun!" Rosie said after hearing Kaitlyn's story. "But I don't write them, I can be lazy, and I willdream about books too," She added with a giggle.

After hearing Kaitlyn and her sister only fighting sometimes Rosie chuckled and said, "Me and my siblings fight all the time, my mom says the house is a complete battle field, and she grounds us for it!"

'Really?!' Rosie thought after Kaitlyn said that she thought Rosie was making a friend but couldn't seem to voice it. "Me too, but they're constantly are annoying but I guess rightfully," Rosie continued after she got over her non-verbal surprise.

"Yeah, cousins can be even weirder," Rosie agreed with Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn nodded to Rosie’s words. “Sadly, t-that is likely the case. Oh, a b-bunny. Bunnies are cute,” she giggled.

“I’d be so embarassed and a-awkward if I did that. But, I mean, you’d h-have a natural conversation s-starter. Hi, I’m Kaitlyn. Sorry for walking right into you as I was reading,” Kaitlyn giggled. “Although, I h-have a feeling the person you trip over wouldn’t be a jolly m-mood after that,” she mused.

Kaitlyn nodded sympathetically to Rosie, over exploding potions. “I mean, I h-hope that never happens to either of us. It can be f-frustrating, having to be very careful. What I m-meant was that I’d help you, so you wouldn’t have to clean all by yourself,” she responded.

“I guess it doesn’t m-matter what format, but we both dream about books,” Kaitlyn gigged, agreeing with Rosie.

Kaitlyn giggled about Rosie’s siblings. “That s-sounds awesome … and terrifying at the same time. I h-hope you don’t grounded that often. You seem too sweet for that,” she smiled to Rosie. “Aw, I’m sorry y-your siblings annoy you. I know I’m biased, b-but I feel it would be easier if they were more s-supportive,” she continued. “I have m-my weird share of cousins … but t-they’re muggles, and I didn't see them that o-often, especially since I was going to a m-muggle boarding school.”

Rosie tucked a annoying strand of hair into her messy bun as she nodded. "Unfortunately, yes... And fortunately, they are cute!" Rosie added with a small giggle as she thought of rabbits' wobbly short tail.

"Yes, that's true," She giggled after Kaitlyn reacted what she would do if she tripped over someone. "That's true, too! It'll be more of a angry or annoyed mood, 'specifically if the person you would walk into isn't a book person, er, that'll be even more embarrassing! If it would be a book-lover it wouldn't be so bad."

After Kaitlyn told Rosie about how she'll help Rosie if potions exploded, Rosie said, "Me too, and Kaitlyn, you don't have to help clean up, I can find cleaning relaxing," Rosie smiled, somewhat truthfully to Kaitlyn. 'Er, sometimes,' Rosie thought to herself , giggling inwardly.

"Yeah, but can't everyone be lazy at least sometimes? I'm lazy at least once or twice a day!" Rosie giggled, her face scunching up in a weird way after Kaitlyn said she did too dream about books.

"Ah, sometimes it'll be awesome, last summer when me and my older siblings were all together in one spot, Cade suggested that he and Coral had a duel, he thought he would be able to beat his twin! But it ended up as Derek the winner after he, Shelly, and Raya got involved. It was so funny! Cade had his legs tied up for a week before Mom got it off of him!" Rosie was full on laughing now, as she remembered Cade flipping around as a fish around the house.

Then Rosie realized who was around her and where she was at. She quickly stopped laughing. 'Oops, stupid! Why tell that story if you're gonna be laughing a great deal?!' Rosie thought angrily to herself. "I'm sorry, Kaitlyn, I didn't mean to be full-fledged laughing, and yes, I wish they were more supportive," Rosie agreed with Kaitlyn.

"Ah, muggles can be weird sometimes," Rosie said, then realized what she had just said. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean you were weird, 'specifically! I meant that cousins, muggle or not, can be weird sometimes, oh I'm so sorry," Rosie ranted, nervously, afraid that she had lost this chance forever.

By now in their conversation, Kaitlyn’s stutter was noticably decreasing, where it was no longer as obvoius. She giggled in response to Rosie’s comment about bunnies. “I bet they must make great pets! I’d love to own one,” she giggled.

“It would just be your luck to not be a book-lover. And, you’d likely gain an enemy, despite it being a mistake. I feel for you, walking around with your nose in a book can be quite dangerous,” she giggled. She could picture it happening, too. It was not a fun feeling.

Kaitlyn giggled and shook her head. “Rosie, I find it relaxing, too. And I wouldn’t mind helping. But, it probably would be better to redirect these careful observations to make sure it doesn’t happen. Unless, of course, you’d like to become potions partners, and we can watch each other?” She giggled. ‘Goodness, I sound like such a dork,’ she thought.

“Oh, of course. I feel lazy a lot. I do get that feeling,” Kaitlyn agreed.

Kaitlyn listened intently to Rosie’s story, giggling at the sibling fighting. “It sounds like your family has interesting interactions. I can only imagine holidays sitting at the table with all of your siblings. That must be eventful,” she giggled with a twinkle in her eye. “And, honestly, Rosie, you’re welcome to laugh as much as you’d like. I don’t mind, I promise,” she gave Rosie a kind and reassuring smile.

Kaitlyn’s cheeks burned light red at Rosie’s comment, and then attempted explanation. “I mean, you aren’t wrong … I am a weirdo,” she agree wtih a quiet giggle. She shook her head gently. “And, you don’t need to apologize,” she smiled.

Rosie didn't notice Kaitlyn's stutter at first but when it decreased, she did. But she was happy that Kaitlyn (and herself) was not as nervous as before. ' And I thought I was stuttering, but at least Kaitlyn isn't nervous anymore,' She thought to herself.

Rosie giggled as she said, "They would! I would like a cat, too, though, I'd love to own both! Both of them are quiet pets, well I hope," she knew if she got a loud pet, she wouldn't be able to read.

After hearing Kaitlyn's comment, Rosie said, chuckling, "Considering, my bad luck, I would have an enemy, no, a rival! And, my tutors and family say that to me all the time! I surprised I haven't tripped over anyone else yet," Rosie giggled at the end of her sentence.

"Yes, it would," Rosie said, chuckling, after Kaitlyn said that they could watch their potions together. "I mean, if we're in the same class!" Rosie continued, giggling and then yawned again, stretching as she covered her mouth.

"Laziness is fun-" She yawned again, covering her mouth. "You can get out of chores!" Rosie giggled after hearing Kaitlyn's comment about laziness.

"Oh, you don't want to know," Rosie said in a grave voice after Kaitlyn said that holidays it can eventful with Rosie's family. 'It's pretty wild,' Rosie thought, as she remembered the holidays she could remember.

Rosie saw Kaitlyn's cheeks turn red after she accidentally made the hurtful comment. "Ar-are you sure? I-I mean, I just basically called you, my dad, and my siblings weird! Even if my siblings are half-muggle!" Rosie said, frantically, basically ranting.

" I sure do hate my poor choice of words," Rosie muttered to herself, embarrassed. 'Stupid, stupid, how could you say that Rosie!?' Rosie thought, pinching her finger until she almost broke the skin. Her face twisted a bit, but she quickly turned around to pretend to stretch.

Kaitlyn giggled at Rosie’s comment about a cat. “I know, they’re such graceful creatures! I’d love to own one of my own … Since I’m a muggle-born, I think the safest for me is to own something like a cat or a bunny. And require far less explanation,” she thought out loud.

Kaitlyn smiled to Rosie’s comment. “I guess depending on the context, a rival isn’t so bad. I’m sure you must be smart, and it’s only natural for people to feel jealous. And I doubt you’re that clumsy to be constantly tripping over people,” she responded, honestly.

Smiling, Kaitlyn nodded to Rosie’s statement. “I hope so, you’re fun to talk to,” she giggled.

Hearing Rosie’s comment about getting out of chores, Kaitlyn snorted into a fit of giggles. “I don’t know if you get out of them … just delay them. Though, with your big family, that is certainly possible,” she responded, after calming down. “That makes me want to hear it more,” she giggled. “But, it does sound entertaining,” she smiled.

Flushing again, Kaitlyn shook her head. “Please don’t feel bad, you didn’t do anything wrong. I can promise you that I’m weird, and I’m not taking it personally. You don’t have a poor choice of words, please don’t feel bad,” she repeated, glancing at the table sadly. She didn’t want Rosie to feel bad on account of her.
