Anastasia had had a loooooong week. She was dealing with nonsense from her parents, classes were more intense than ever, being a prefect was starting to demand more and more time. Long story short, Anastasia Beckett was on the verge of a mental breakdown. On the verge. She hadn't snapped yet, and she was confident she could make it all the way to the end of the year without losing it. Not much could be said for what might happen after that, but she knew she could probably make it that far.
She sat on a bench, her quill nervously tapping against her unmarked parchment. She knew she needed to write back to her parents after the scathing letters she'd received, but she couldn't even begin to figure out what she was even going to say to them. Sighing, she set her quill down and glanced over the ledge. Everything always seemed so much smaller from above, and it made Anastasia feel a bit better. Hopefully, in a few years, she would look back on her problems and they would seem just as small as the students below her did. At that moment, she heard someone else enter the owlery.

Aleksi was the person Anastasia heard entering the owlery. Carrying a bunch of parchment and quills, most of which had already been written on, and were already in envelopes, The Ravenclaw was her happy-go-lucky self, as per usual. That is, until she looked over to and saw the dejected-looking Gryffindor. Concern took over Aleksi Bennett.
"Uh, Hey. . ." She says before a fairly awkward pause. "Um, are you okay? Did something happen to you?" Aleksi asks with genuine concern contained in her voice. She sets the parchment and quills down on a ledge and stands a few feet behind Anastasia. She folds her hands in front of her, as she inches closer. Aleksi doesn't stand too close, though. This was so as not to seem weird. Because Aleksi could be considered weird sometimes.
She gives up her hopes of not seeming weird and stands next to her while leaning on the ledge. She keeps looking at Anastasia with concern written all over her face. "If you don't want to tell me, though, I can leave, or just stay away from you and not ask anymore." Aleksi plays with her hands without thinking about the very act of playing with her hands.
OOC: Sorry for taking so long!

Looking Down on Your Problems
Anastasia glanced up at the Ravenclaw, trying to have a somewhat normal expression, but that clearly was unsuccessful based on the girl's next words. She sighed as she thought about what she wanted to say. On the one hand, this girl was an utter stranger and anyway, Anastasia's parents would be downright livid if they heard that their daughter was speaking badly of them at school. On the other hand, Anastasia only had a few close friends, so she didn't have very many people who actually wanted to listen to what she had to say.
"It's my parents and their high expectations, " Anastasia said dryly as though it were a joke instead of a brutal fact of her life. That way, the other girl would have the chance to play it off like a joke or, if she was actually interested in listening to someone random Gryffindor's life issues, ask more questions. "You know how it is, nothing is ever quite good enough and all that fun."
As she waited to hear the girl's reply, she mentally examined the girl, trying to determine whether this girl was a possible friend or minion. She didn't think that this girl was an enemy since she seemed nice enough and fairly meek. Anastasia rather hoped this girl was a friend as opposed to a minion. She could find minions practically anywhere if she looked hard enough. Friends, however, were few and far in between.
OOC - No worries at all! I'm pretty slow right now because of finals, so you're totally fine!
