Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn nodded respectfully to Sonya’s answer. She wasn’t about to force the issue. Besides, as an eleven-year-old, she knew next to nothing about medical care anyway. “Ok … P-please take it s-slow until your nose s-stops bleeding,” she added, accepting Sonya’s point, but still concerned. “And … w-werewolf? I never knew those e-existed. I’m glad you survived t-that encounter,” she responded. “Oh, and y-your secret is safe with me … I w-won’t be sharing it,” she promised.
When Sonya nodded her head to Alice’s question, Kaitlyn was even more confused then. But, she didn’t show it and kept her comments to herself. ‘I’m very curious on how Sonya became friends with a werewolf … and where this attack happened. As a muggle-born, I’d assume it was scary,’ she thought.
Kaitlyn nodded to Alice’s recount of her bloodline. ‘I should have expected that,’ she thought. But she offered a genuine, polite smile in return. “Oh, t-that is awesome to h-hear. If y-you don’t mind m-me asking, and forgive m-me if this is out o-of line, but w-why did you not attend Beauxbatons, i-instead of here?” She asked softly.
As Alice went off looking at some of the plants, Kaitlyn walked around, well. Her movements were slow and deliberate. A certain grace in her steps, as she walked. Taking in the plants she could see, but still maintained a safe distance. From what she read in the books she already glanced at, some plants were dangerous.Reducio

Sonya looked at the rows of plants, scanning them hoping to find a small sign that says Gillyweed. As she did, she could hear Alice ask, ""Do you hang about with many werewolves? That doesn't sound very... safe."Sonya talking: #6600ff

Sonya shrugged. "A rather large group of hombres lobo- sorry, Werewolves- pass through where I live every year and spend the summer there. As long as I track the Lunar Cycle, it's not too risky. I'm actually good friends with one of them, a girl named Ashia, and my aunt is friends with another."
Did Sonya mention that Ashia accidentally bit her, making her into a werewolf, hence her current experiment involving Gillyweed, Wolfsbane Potion, and the upcoming Full Moon?
No.
Did she mention the fact that her aunt is a criminal Queenpin (Trademarking it) and her werewolf buddy did a bunch of jobs for her, which is how they know each other?
Also no.
Not things you tend to share with people you JUST met.
Sonya started to look at some of the plants hanging, hoping one would be Gillyweed. "On the bright side, hanging out with Werewolves is fun. You get to learn cool tricks, racing one is a great work-out, and best of all, provided Wolfsbane Potion was used, hunting with a partner on the full moon becomes ten times easier- Ah!"
Sonya smiled as she pulled off her hoodie. While Kaitlyn asked a question involving Beauxbatons, Sonya grabbed a stool from nearby and got up on it as she unhooked a hanging fish-tank-like case with Gillyweed inside. She assumed that since there's water in it, the Herbology teacher thought it should hang so no one would break it.
Sonya carefully stepped off the stool and put the case down. "Aquí vamos... Gillyweed fresco para mí..."

@Kaitlyn Connor [] @Sonya HerreraAlice suspects there's more that Sonya isn't saying, but she can't quite put her finger on it. They've only just met, in any case, so she doesn't want to be rude and question this new acquaintance - this new possible friend.
"Wolfsbane... Wolfsbane..." she murmurs, trying to remember where she's heard that word. She had a decent education growing up, but for some reason she doesn't remember learning about a Wolfsbane potion. It must be quite rare.
"What do you mean by 'hunting?'" she asks, leaning on the work table as she turns to face Sonya. "I've heard of muggle families hunting, for sport or for meat, but wouldn't it be quite dangerous to hunt on the full moon if werewolves are about?"
Her eyes fall once more back onto Kaitlyn, and she feels a twinge of pity for the poor girl.
"Sorry, Kaitlyn," she says with an attempt at a comforting smile. "Werewolves only roam once per lunar cycle - on the full moon. Beyond that, I'm no expert, but you needn't worry about them here at Hogwarts."
Kaitlyn's question regarding Beauxbatons doesn't surprise her, but that doesn't make answering it any easier.
Alice considers telling the truth. It would be simpler. Far simpler. But it would also desecrate her mother's reputation, and, cold as her mother could be at times, Alice has no desire to ruin her reputation and that of her family.
Perhaps a half-truth?
"It simply wouldn't do for me to attend Beauxbatons," she says, returning the polite smile, but in her case it's quite forced. "My brother and sisters attend, and it wouldn't do for me to show up with my talents and make the whole family look bad, now would it?"
The lie is only half a lie. She would, if she attended Beauxbatons, make her family look bad, but not in the way she just implied. She eagerly makes an attempt to change the subject.
"But what of you, Kaitlyn?" she asks gently. "How does one from a fully muggle family adapt to a world of magic? It must all be quite strange. I'd love to hear about your experiences since arriving at Hogwarts."

Kaitlyn listened quietly to Sonya’s story about Werewolves passing through where she lived. That sounded … weird for a muggle-born. She was nowhere near knowledgable if any werewolf passed by her home, or her muggle boarding school.
As she gracefully walked, Kaitlyn looked at more of the plants. Her active listening still being used as Sonya talked more about werewolves and … hunting partners? That sounded weird. Why would a girl, like Sonya be hunting on the full moon … it sounded like with a werewolf? Or was she just mishearing?
Then, Kaitlyn heard Alice question the hunting. Followed by an … apology? To her about werewolves. ‘Interesting.’ Alice then answered her question about Beauxbaton with an answer that … frankly didn’t make much sense. ‘That makes Alice sound egotistical … not that I’d be able to tell it immediately. I feel like she’s hiding something, too.’
Two beats, then Kaitlyn answered.
“I m-must agree w-with Alice. Would hunting w-with a partner k-keep a werewolf away?” Kaitlyn continued the question. She was fairly new to magic, and never heard of werewolves. She turned to Alice. “But, a-aren’t they just r-regular people like u-us?” She asked, already starting to form a positive view of werewolves.
Just like with before, Kaitlyn decided to keep quiet about Alice’s answer to Beauxbatons. She glanced at a fern-like plant to distract herself. She was too polite to say what was on her mind, and chose not to say it to ruffle any feathers. She did, however, answer the question directed at her. “My f-family and I didn’t b-believe it at first. It’s b-been … overwhelming, to say the least. I can o-only imagine w-what it will be like, o-once we start casting s-spells,” she mused.Reducio

When Sonya heard Alice say "Wolfsbane" a few times, she decided to say, "It's a potion, discovered in the Nineties, I believe. Taken everyday leading up to a full moon, as well as that night, it allows a Werewolf to retain their humanity when they turn. I... My friend took it enough times in front of me that I know a bit about it."Sonya talking: #6600ff

Sonya was aware that made no sense.
Before she could ponder why she just HAD to attempt to cover her... rear, in such a bad way, she heard Alice say something about hunting. So Sonya said, "They all take the potion. They camp between the mountain I live on and the near-by town, so they have to. As for the hunting part, it's rather relaxing, in a sense. It's a strict set of practiced tricks, each needing to be down in a certain order if you want to not get run over by a random boar. Yes, Scotland has those. And they are just as grouchy as people in Glasgow. Having a werewolf with you makes it easier. They can track prey better with their wolfish traits and help you take it down."
She then heard Kaitlyn say, "But, a-aren’t they just r-regular people like u-us?"
Sonya nodded. "Yep. Just... with a furry little problem."
While Alice asked Kaitlyn a question about her family, Sonya grabbed her hoodie and pulled out a small baggie. She then carefully opened the case and removed a few pieces of Gillyweed. "There we go..."

@Kaitlyn Connor [] @Sonya HerreraAlice listens with great eagerness as Sonya educates them about Wolfsbane and the intricacies of hunting alongside a werewolf. She can't imagine being convinced to try it herself, but the picture of Sonya that she's painting in her mind is becoming bolder and bolder with each story. She's certainly an interesting one.
"I've never met a werewolf myself, but my mother always forbade us from interacting with them. Dangerous, she called them," Alice explains as she watches Sonya messing with a plant of some kind.
"Mother always warned myself and all of my siblings to stay indoors during a full moon, if only as a precaution," she says, her eyes lingering on the gillyweed, though she doesn't know what it's called. Herbology is one of the subjects her parents never thought important for her childhood tutelage.
She decides not to question Sonya's plant-based tampering. It's none of her business anyway, and she doesn't want to be labeled as a stick in the mud. Instead she turns back to Kaitlyn with an amused smile on her face from Sonya's antics.
"I'm sorry you've found it overwhelming," she says. "What adjustments have been the hardest for you?"
Alice removes her wand from her pocket and begins idly looking at it, examining each notch in the wood. Its rigid form feels strange in her hand as she turns it about in her palm.
"For what it's worth, blood status doesn't mean everything. As we advance in our studies, you'll find it likely that muggle-born students are just as capable as the purebloods, unlikely as many of them may be to admit it. If you're here, at Hogwarts, it's because you're capable of great things, even if it takes a bit more work to reach your potential."

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn fell silent at Sonya’s description of the Wolfsbane potion and how werewolves took it to not be a menace to other witches and wizards. Then, Sonya talked about hunting with werewolves. ‘I don’t know … something doesn’t add up here. But, I don’t want to openly question and make Sonya or Alice think I’m a terrible person. Furthermore, I don’t want to judge Sonya for her knowledge. She’s clearly a very capable muggle-born. And, Alice is a very capable pureblood witch. I ended up interacting with an interesting pair, for sure,” she thought.
“To m-me, werewolves s-sound like just another w-witch or wizard, and l-likely very misunderstood. I w-wonder if Hogwarts h-has any books on them … without all the fear mongering,” Kaitlyn proposed, very curious. ‘I actually don’t know what I’d do if I met face-to-face with a werewolf. Although, if one of my eventual friends turned out to be a werewolf, I’d like to think I’d try to better understand what was happening. I do like to help.’
Kaitlyn was aware that Sonya was doing something with the plants, but kept her mouth shut. ‘I barely know what’s going on, but I don’t think this is any of my business.’ She looked to Alice and gave her the first genuine smile she’d given the pureblood Ravenclaw. “A-actually doing magic. I f-feel so far behind … I’m n-not exactly the most sociable, but I f-fear looking blatantly stupid,” she responded, not particularly afraid to admit what troubled her.
A light flush bloomed on her cheeks at Alice’s words, and she nodded. “T-thank you … I hope it g-gets as easy as t-that in my mind,” she responded, another smile on her lips. “But, I a-agree. Blood status s-should not dictate a-ability,” she agreed.Reducio

Sonya put a little bit more of the Gillyweed in the back and put it in her hoodie. She hoped it would be enough for her experiment. She already had some Wolfsbane potion in her dorm room and with the Full Moon approaching, she would soon be able to conduct her experiment.Sonya talking: #6600ff

Well, at least, not until the chains her Aunt was gonna send her arrive, allowing her to restrain herself before hand, should something go wrong.
As Kaitlyn said, “But, I a-agree. Blood status s-should not dictate a-ability,” Sonya nodded.
"Agreed. Sadly, some people are stuck in their ways, trying to claim purity of blood equals superiority, which is such horsecrap. I mean, my Grandmother on my mother's side is a Muggle-born witch and my Grandfather is pure-blood and she's phenomenal when it comes to charms- ¡Maldita sea!"
Sonya swore as something seemingly tripped her. Some kind of rat thing.
She hit a shelf and some kind of glass container with a rather strange bush fell and hit the ground. Sonya only had a second to register the fact that the bush looked like it was burning before the container shattered.
Sonya tossed up her arms to block any glass, but FIRE.
Ever threw a match into a fire pit and noticed at first, the fire kinda spreads and goes outward before becoming "normal?"
That's what happened.
Why a match? Because you can't throw a lighter in there, can you?
Sonya screamed as the fire burned her arms and the glass added to the painful mess.
This just turned into an R-Rated flick.
Or at least what Rob Zombie thinks a PG-13 movie is.

@Kaitlyn Connor [] @Sonya Herrera"You shouldn't worry about being far behind," Alice tells Kaitlyn with a small smile. "There're laws that prevent even the purest of bloodlines from allowing their children to practice magic outside of school - officially, at least. We're all on the same starting terms."
She doesn't miss Sonya's antics with the strange bush, and, while she knows that it would probably be wise to try to stop her from interacting with the plant, she's too slow to intervene.
Unfortunately, Alice's slow reaction isn't of much use as the flora respond to Sonya's tumble. A burst of flame whooshes out toward Sonya, and Alice freezes. She's usually quite well composed, but she's never faced anything like this before. In fact, she isn't even sure what's going on. She vaguely remembers something about a burning plant, but Herbology is far from her strongest subject.
A shattering of glass follows suit, and Sonya's pain is apparent. Alice rushes to her side, eager to at least try to do something. She's too slow, though, as Sonya screams in pain. Alice doesn't bother readying her wand. She's not sure what she could do about this strange plant, even if she does. Somehow she doubts that anything in her immediate memory will be of use. Tarantallegra? The plant can't exactly dance. Incendio? Oh, please.
"We should leave!" she says sharply to the other two, attempting to rest a hand on Sonya's back from behind to lead her away. "Before anything else goes wrong, or, heaven forbid, a teacher comes!"
She watches Kaitlyn out of the corner of her eyes to make sure the girl is following, just in case.

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn was listening to what Sonya said about people stuck in their ways, and the nice comment Alice made about not being far behind. And to be fair, it all sounded very true. Way too many people were stuck in their ways. And, she liked hearing that she wasn't that far behind, even if her mind told her otherwise. She didn’t have much time to think about any of it, because, right afterward, Sonya fell and knocked over a glass container with a plant inside.
Kaitlyn bounded forward in an attempt to help. Helping was in her blood, after all. She had helped a poor classmate on her broom once, despite being tearfully afraid, herself. But, in her attempt to get to Sonya to help her with the glass shards, a different issue became apparent ... fire! Her blue eyes widened, as Sonya was burned. She attempted to change course, but the flames hit into her arm, burning part of her uniform, and more importantly, partially burning her arm.
"Eep!" Kailtyn yelped in surprise, quickly backing away from the scene. 'I hope no one else heard of this commotion,' she thought, whimpering through the pain in her arm.
“Yes, I a-agree, we should l-leave,” Kaitlyn responded, as she made her way over to Sonya and Alice, staying away from the flames. She stopped nearby, hoping to be of better help.Reducio
