Finding Home
To me,
Ever since he left, I felt lost. Is it weird to feel pain for someone who was never really yours? I find myself barely getting by without him. I am left a void. Home was once not just a place but a person too. I know that home is not constricted to walls and a roof, but is expanded into roots, leaves, heart, and mind. He was my home away from home. Everything turned into a vast memory. The inside jokes, adventures, late late-night conversations, all disappeared when he left. He is my best friend, that left. How can I ever find my home again? I realize that he will always be there, yet the thought of him leaving brings a sharp pain to my heart. People come and go, leaving fractured bonds behind, hoping when they return, everything will be ok. But it's not. I departed separate ways to him, my eyes tearing, begging to never see them again, because I couldn't bear the pain to see them happy while I am just surviving. He was a main character in my story, and to see him go, left me uncertain of where my life would end up without him. My home.
