As the two made their way towards the gate, AngelFyre could not help but notice three things. It was chilly, but otherwise a clear day. Because the weather was nice, many students were out and about, and many of those students were traveling in the same direction as the Prefect and her detention detainee, headed to the exit gate that would lead them to a day of freedom away from Hogwarts. The last thing AngelFyre noticed was how with every step they took that drew them closer to the "staging area", it felt like Lily was slowing her pace.

AngelFyre watched from the corner of her eye as Lily nervously bobbed her head around, taking in the number of people around them. She decided speaking up would hopefully get the girl to focus on something else and help to dissipate her case of growing nerves. Telling her to hurry would only make it worse, so AngelFyre did not utter any chastisement or acknowledge the obvious ploy. She was not even certain it was a ploy.

"Lily, I want you to think of a title for your play. All the best plays have one," she encouraged, "and yours should be no different. You worked hard on it and should give it a name. You never know; it could go down in the annals of Hogwarts greatness."

Truthfully, AngelFyre was pretty certain greatness was not the legacy destined for today's offering, but you never could tell what might appeal to today's audiences. "And one last thing. I will be standing back, wandering through the crowd, so you will not not be alone and I will know if you fulfill the requirements of your assignment. As such, there are a couple more things you will need to do."

She felt like Lily slowed down even more in that moment, and she thought she may have heard an exasperated sigh, but AngelFyre kept walking at their current snail's pace. "I will not introduce you to the crowd. You are going to have to do that yourself, and I want you to tell everyone listening, and those who are not, who you are, the name of your play, what you are about to do, and WHY you are about to do it."

AngelFyre could feel waves of irritation coming at her from the second year. That was fine. Some righteous anger might displace some of her fear and nervousness. It was worth a shot, but this had all been a part of the plan from the beginning. Lily just had not needed to know it until now.

"And one last thing. You are not performing it once, but three times. You can have a 10 minute break between each performance. Enunciate clearly, project your voice... and your confidence... and show yourself and everyone else what a brave Gryffindor you really are. If you need a friendly, encouraging smile at any point along the way, just look for me. I will be there for the whole thing."

That probably sounded a whole lot less encouraging to Lily than she hoped it might, but it was better than nothing. As they had now reached their destination, AngelFyre offered up her final, tried and true well wishes, in theater speak.

"Break a leg, kid!"

Lily followed AngelFyre her stomach in a heavy tight of knots. Her fear was growing and the last thing she wanted to do was to follow AF and go through with this. The closer they got she fell back a little her steps becoming slower. Her hot chocolate and pastries were threatening to make their way back up and Lily just wanted to bolt.
AngelFyre did not make it any better when she said she had to name the play and introduce herself in front od the crowd of people heading towards Hogsmeade. Lily nearly whimpered. Could she just stay anonymous? That wouod be welcome. They arrived and AF said break a leg before wandering in the crowd. "Maybe if I broke a leg I wouldn't have to do this." Lily muttered under her breath before making her way to the front of the crowd. Once there she turned around and nearly fainted from everyone there. She wished she could run. Or throw up. That is an option as well. Lily cleardd her throat nervously but loudly and a few people glanced her way. She thought she saw her little brother in that crowd and let his image in her head ground her.
"Hello everyone. My name is L-Lily McCoire. I'll be performing a play of my own called..." Lily trailed off as a random title popped in her head. It was not a good one but Lily was desperate to finish this this especially as she had to do it 3 times. "it's called A Dangerous Idea. It's based off of the very bad idea of going to Hogsmeade as a first or second year with barely any spells. I'm doing this because I was caught by a prefect in Hogsmead." she said her voice so nervous she was surprised that it wasn't actually shaking
Lily took a breath closing her eyes , before opening them and starting to play out this disaster and embarrassment ready to happen.

Lily pretended she was walking to Hogsmeade and going in shops buying things she wanted. "hm I think I'll go down to the Hogs Head. I have heard interesting things about it." she said to clarify where this was going. Truthfully she had no idea how she was going to play this out as a multippe characters act, with only her in the play. She memed walking down to the Hogs Head and going in ordering a butterbeer. She played the bartender for a split second handing it to her and she took (here she used her thermos she still had) and sipped it. After she pretended to finish it and leave it.on the counter, Lily pretended to be walking out of the shop and towards Hogwarts, when she said in a deep voice( or as deep as she could get it), "What's a pretty young girl like you doing all the way out here alone?" she memed herself turning slightly fear in her eyes -which was easy to work since she was scared as hell right now- and said in her normal voice. "Who are you?" she chuckled in that deep voice she had used before. "Just someone wondering around. Looking." Lily pretended to raise an eyebrow and then gasp in her normal voice. "Your a vampire! That's why you're staying in the shadows!" She again gave the deep chuckle again. "Smart one you are." she memed pulling out her wand and pretended to cast a spell (here she tries the red spark) and she didn't make it as she pretended that it was next knocked out of her hand. She then said in a light but firm voice, as she memed, "Get away from her." she memed as the man cast a spell of bright light and the vampire hissing before walking away and Lily turning to the man to say thank you but he beat her at it. "You are not yet a third year. What are you doing out here young lady? There are rules for a.reason and what just happened is an example of why there are rules for a reason. If I hadn't been here you would be a vampire yourself or even dead." Lily said in her light voice before switching back to her normal.voice. "I understand now why there are rules for a reason, sir and I won't break them again. Thank you for coming when you did." Lily went back to her light voice. "Come on I'll take you back to school."
Once that was finished, Lily repeated it 2 more times, and kept thinking about her brothers to ground you. Once the 2 rounds were finished, Lily moved away to go interact with some similar faces in the crowd.

Watching @Lily Isobel McCoire
Viva was taking a walk along the path to Hogsmeade again. She loved to walk that path, and was sad she wasn't allowed to go into Hogsmeade yet. Whenever she walked there, she would always turn around at the gate and walk back, after a few wistful glances. Normally students wouldn't be allowed to walk this far out, she presumed. Viva had aquired special permission from a professor. She was always very well behaved in class, so the professor had been more then happy to allow her this privilege.

As she drew closer to the gate, Viva began to hear a lot of noise from up ahead. Laughter, jeering, clapping. Curious, she sped up, walking up to the large crowd of people gathered around a red-haired girl Viva was sure she had never seen before. She looked a little older then Viva, and extremely nervous. What in Merlin's name was she doing? Acting out a play? Viva drew nearer still, and watched. As she observed, she began to understand what was happening. This is a punishment. The girl obviously didn't want to be acting out this random... skit... for everyone here, she must have gotten into trouble. Viva stifled a laugh, watching as the girl did her act three times. Even though it took a while, Viva stayed for the whole thing.

EmmaLee speaks with a light French accent.

EmmaLee had grand plans and when you have grand plans it is maddening to wait for the time to execute those plans. As the time for the Fall Ball, and almost more importantly the arrival of the other magic schools, grew nearer, EmmaLee was more and more anxious to get there. Maddeningly, the closer October 5th was, the longer it seemed to take for it to get here. Classes, cello, dueling practice: none of it seemed to make the days, hours, minutes, seconds go by any faster. She had even started practicing piano again just do have some thing to do other than WAIT.

Since many of those thing had particular time to do them, and she had whiled away three hours eating breakfast and studying this morning, she found herself outside and wandering the grounds, led by Minx, her large, fluffy, white cat. Minx had met her outside of the library when she had finally decided she could study no longer and led her out into the chilly air to chase leaves and squirrels. EmmaLee didn't have to come of this romping adventure with Minx, but sometimes, her cat was as insistent for her company in an almost human way.

So EmmaLee found herself on the grounds following her flouncing feline as she heard a familiar voice calling out over the crowd. "Your a vampire! That's why you're staying in the shadows!" Oh. It was Lily Brown, or McCoire, rather. EmmaLee didn't know the specifics of that name change, but she had heard the professors when calling her in class. She seemed to be putting on a play by herself, playing three parts. EmmaLee raised an eyebrow as she wandered over to the crowd, watched the end, and then watched as Lily did the play again.

Oh. This is a detention assignment. Clever. Around the middle of the second go around, Minx came by and sat on EmmaLee's chilling feet as the girl wondered how many times Lily would have to do this.

Three apparently as EmmaLee stayed to see. The play wasn't the best thing ever written, but she thought Lily did well in the acting considering her lack of castmates, and the Gryffindor seemed to have a little more confidence in the task by the third go around.

As Lily stepped down from the stage and encountered the crowd, EmmaLee watched her interact with the others curiously.

Well the performance would certainly not earn her any awards but he cheered and whooped anyways, art was subjective and the deafening silence of the crowd was horrifying. Matthew had been on his way to study when he saw the collection of students all congregating and he had decided that investigations were in order. Clambering over the shoulders of other students to see the red head he cringed as she announced what she was about to do.

Yet, all in all, it hadn't been that bad. In fact he had found the attempt rather amusing despite the girls clear want to be anywhere else. This had also been the first time he had heard of Hogsmeade and while he understood the purpose of the performance if anything it just inspired him to get there himself. It would require preparation and far more secrecy than this girl had brought but having a new goal always filled him with excitement. Thoughts of meeting a real vampire lit explosions in his mind, allowing him to enjoy the show even more.

As the girl exited the stage he walked towards her, they had locked eyes due to his insistent clapping and she had a look of mortification grace her otherwise sweet, freckled face when he refused to stop. Partly he did it because his anxiety was flaring from the silence but mostly he had kept going for a more selfish reason. The embarrassment was painted across her face and it added greatly to the hilarity of the performance so although he didn't have a cruel bone in his body he felt the need to continue his whoops and cheers, his cheek often got him in trouble for going too far.

Walking up to the student he spoke softly stifling a laugh, "Sorry about the applause, I couldn't resist! I hope you weren't too embarrassed. The names Matthew Campbell and if you don't make it as a witch you should definitely try your hand at comedy, you're a natural!" his comments were genuine even if pointed out with jest, the laugh he was holding in releasing from within. As he reached out his hand and spoke once again he was a visage of kindness, "Really, I am sorry you had to do that but if you can take one thing from it, it made my otherwise dreadfully boring day, that bit brighter. Hope the rest of your day is less painful!"

Lily was walking away when a boy met up to her. He had kept cheering and whooping makimg her even more embarrassed if possible but she didn't hold anything against him.
She made a noise is her throat when he said he hoped she wasn't too embarrassed. "I have stage fright so yes that made me a little more embarrassed." She said gently but kindly. "I'm Lily McCoire. Nice to meet you. I'll stick to being a witch. Performing isnt my thing. Not really." She shrugged and looked away for a minute.
She saw a girl with blonde hair looking over at her. Lily thought it was possibly EmmaLee LeDames, a second year Hufflepuff. She gave her a little wave before turning to Matthew again. "Thank you Matthew. Its supposed to teach me not to go back into Hogsmeade." She glanced around and didn't see AngelFyre and took a step towards him lowering her voice. "But seriously I'm not planning on stopping. I can't last a year without butterbeer." She said in a whisper. "Besides it's a very low chance you will run into a vampire." She stepped back and cleared her throat before saying loudly, for the benefit of AngelFyre McCubbin. "I hope you know not to go into Hogsmeade." She winked at Matthew with a small smile.

As Kaitlyn took a walk around the grounds, she noticed a commotion near the gate that led off to Hogsmeade. The magical and mystical wizarding village. ‘I so want to go there … I just need a way to sneak out into Hogsmeade,’ she thought. Being the curious snake that she was, she headed off to see what was going on to cause such a commotion.

When she walked closer, she could spot a pretty red-haired girl, who couldn’t be too much older than her … later confirmed to be a second year, about to perform in front of everyone. While Kaitlyn knew it was not her, her cheeks flushed from second-hand embarrassment. ‘Performing … in front of a crowd like this? Uh-uh, no thanks. Not for me. Then again, I guess this makes it uncomfortable for her? I can’t blame her. But, fudge, it also is uncomfortable for me to watch, too,’ she thought with a sigh.

Kaitlyn moved off to the side of the crowd, as the red-haired girl performed … a play? Could you really call it that? Who knew? Regardless, Kaitlyn watched, still flushed, as the girl performed. Every time the girl looked out to the crowd, Kaitlyn locked eyes with her and gave the girl a small sympathetic smile from where she stood. ‘This must be a detention from sneaking into Hogsmeade. It’s not going to stop me from going, however … but, ugh, this is brutal. I feel sorry for her. Even with me being so shy and timid, just watching this makes me want to go up to her and hug her,’ she thought.

The girl performed the same play three times. Truthfully it was not very long. ‘If this was something the girl had to write, I don’t really blame her for making it short,’ she thought. As the girl finished her third rendition, she felt like turning around to get back to what she was doing - aimlessly walking around the grounds. But, she kind of wanted to say something to the girl … and maybe offer her a hug. She observed where the girl disappeared in the crowd, and Kaitlyn headed over to where she hopefully was. Her movements were graceful, but fast, easily dodging through the throngs of students that just witnessed …. let’s call it the performance.

AngelFyre did meander in and about the crowd, taking note of those who walked straight through the gate... older students... and noting those who stopped and hung around to watch and listen to Lily's performance. The older ones could not be bothered, but the younger ones seemed to be crowding around, and sticking it out through multiple performances. When Lily finished, AngelFyre did give her a hearty round of applause, but it was drowned out by a young gent intent on ... well, AngelFyre really had no idea what his intentions were, but he certainly made his presence known.

She knew Lily had been scared, but honestly, that really was part of the point. As she listened to her one woman play, AngelFyre could not help but be impressed by the way Lily handled herself throughout the whole affair. She never once got snippy or whiney about any of it. She knew she had been caught dead to rights and owned up to it pretty much from the get go. It was more maturity than AngelFyre had expected to see from the feisty Gryffindor, and Lily had completely earned her respect from start to finish because of the way she had handled herself.

The Prefect was under no illusion that this "Cautionary Tale" was going to change anyone's mind about breaking Rule #1, but she could only do what she could do. Now it was time to officially free Lily from her servitude and let her socialize with her friends, new and old.

As she approached, Lily was talking with the boy with clap happy hands. She heard Lily whisper something to him but could not make out what exactly, not that it was any of her business anyway. When Lily quickly spoke, in a voice louder than necessary after her whisper, and in a manner about as convincingly (which is to say not very) as her off, off, waaaaay off Broadway performance of just a few minutes prior, AngelFyre, no slouch in the brains department, figured easily enough she was likely to see all of them in Hogsmeade in the course of the next couple of years. Lily included.

Ah well. Kids will be kids.

"Pardon the interruption," she interjected as she approached Lily and the boy, smiling widely at both. "Lily, I am proud of you. Truly. For a lot of reasons. You will likely never be the next great actress of your time, but so what? You got through it and you are still standing. For a detention completed in its entirety, I hereby release you from your servitude! Well done, you! You are now free to go about your day, and I will see you when I see you, but it better not be back in Hogsmeade, young Miss!" and with that, AngelFyre arched a brow at her playfully as a warning, but then turned around and headed back to the castle.

Maybe she could find a Handsome Hufflepuff to hang with if she looked really hard.
