Maze The Wanderers Group 12 Closed

@Elizabeth Linscott
@Illowy Magnard

You are teleported to the heart of a maze. It is obvious that you as well as your peers have been magically teleported to this space. The air here is full of colors, illusionary butterflies flit past you. You see one fly right through a classmate and then flutter off. The instructions here were simple, find a partner and traverse this maze but beware, errant adventures turn out to be the fool. Yes, it would seem that this is a place for both tricks as well as treats. This year’s maze was fairytale themed, if one would have read the muggle-books, they would find the things here rather... familiar as if they were teleported right into the book itself, a fairytale come true for some. Those that had not read the books would simply find this a normal maze.

As you look around you notice that there are 4 paths that you can take. One to the North, one to the South, one to the East and One to the West. Moss covered flagstones mark the paths of this natural maze. Which way will you pick.

Options:
A.) Travel North
B.) Travel South
C.) Travel East
D.) Travel West

The usual 200+ word count rule has been reduced to 60+ words. You and your teammate(s) must stick together. If you are unable to make a decision which path to take by the end of this week, either the majority decision wins or a roll will be done to determine your path.

Action success, spells and physical attacks for example, are determined by a d20 roll accompanied with your stats. Results above 14 will be considered successful while anything less is not. Quote your actions and stats in your posts for easier reference.

[quote]You have until 26th April to get your posts in as well as decide on your route to take if you have not done so already. At least 2 players are required for the maze to continue. If an additional layer has not posted by the 26th, the maze with continue without that player. Should only one or no player(s) post by then, the group will be eliminated and therefore will not be able to continue.

Elizabeth blinked a few times as she looked around. "Wow," she whispered, as she stared wide-eyed at the beautiful scenery surrounding her. She had read various fairy tales throughout her young life, and now she felt like she had been transported to one of them, but which one? Perhaps it's Hansel and Gretel, she thought, hopefully. She wasn't particularly fond of the witch, but it would be pretty cool to see a house made out of candy and gingerbread. Or maybe they were in Repunzel's land or the forest from Snow White. Perhaps I'll be able to see Repunzel's tower or Snow White and her team of seven dwarfs! She was getting more and more excited as she thought about the books she had read.

She took a deep breath, taking in the air. Even that felt magical, and she took several more breaths, relishing it. It was as if she were under a spell. She started flitting this way and that, trying to decide where to start exploring. She finallly turned to her friends. "Where should we start exploring first?" she asked urgently. There was so much to see, she couldn't wait to start.

The air itself seemed to shimmer in color as the pair found themselves in the maze. Butterflies, seeming to be made of pure light as she watch one faze through another student. For once, Illowy found herself wide eyed and turning around in place to take in the entire sight. As a child, she loved listening to fairytales, even the muggle ones. Her mother would read them to her every night and they never bored her. Now, it seemed as though they been plucked from their world and dropped straight into a storybook itself.

As she turned, she observed how many paths they were given as options to take. Hues then turned to her friend who was scurrying around the place as though she were on a sugar high, "Let be practical, Elizabeth. Remember, the object of game is to get out." she reminded. Take another glace around around, she tried to determine the best direction, "Lets go this way." she suggested, pointing down the east trail.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

"Let be practical, Elizabeth. Remember, the object of game is to get out."
Get out. Right. Elizabeth was brought back to current predicament. They were supposed to leave this place. This magical, beautiful, amazing place. But I don’t want to, yet, she thought, somewhat defiantly. They just got there. She wanted to explore!

She pretended to ignore her friend a moment, choosing instead to focus her attention on a vibrant butterfly that was flittering around. It was beautiful, decorated with an assortment of blue, violet, red, and yellow. “Wow,” Elizabeth murmured, sticking out a finger for the creature to land on. It went right through her finger. This caused Elizabeth to gasp in surprise, and look around. How did that happen? A thought struck her.

She turned her attention back to Illowy. “Do you think this is an illusion?” she muttered, still looking around. She decided to follow Illowy’s advice and go east, but placed her hand against a tree trunk as she walked, seeing if it was solid or not.

You and your partner(s) decide to go EAST, after a rather short walk, you are met with a crossroad that appears to have three paths of exit. Straight ahead, about mid-way there is a path marked with these same flagstones and directly ahead you would see a wall of bushes showing the terminal point of the path ahead, perhaps the trail takes a sudden turn or perhaps it was a dead end or another door awaited. To your left is a path that appears to end with a perfectly round bright green door left ajar. It would looks like something like the cottages doors in the hobbit. Your other option was to your right is another doorway this one carved from cavestone leading into a tunnel.
Options:
A.) Continue Down Path (East)
B.) Through Hobbit Door (North)
C.) Through Tunnel (South)

"Don't be silly, of course it is. Its magic." she explained, eyes still taking in everything and she started towards the path. Though she was trying to seem impartial to the wonders the maze had created, she couldn't help but feel her own sense of whimsicality seeing it all. It seemed so real and beautiful.

She threw a glance over her shoulder, giving a small wave, "C'mon, I'm sure there's more to gawk at." she chuckle a little, watching the Hufflepuff press her hand against a tree. It truly was amazing the things one could do with a bit of magic and so much imagination. Illowy was certainly colored impressed as she followed the flagstones. Before long, there came another break in their path.

She chewed her lip a bit, thinking and she looked around herself. To the left, something akin to a hobbit hole. To the right was a deep tunnel that seemed to have no end. Or the final option was to press forward, though that path seemed to end abruptly. That easily could have been an illusion though, a trick. It seemed awfully early in the game, however, to be tricky already, "Which way? And please not the tunnel." she turned to her friend, "Not that it scares me or anything, but a tunnel with no end is... unsettling."

Illowy needn’t fear, because Elizabeth’s eyes were not in the tunnel, but the hobbit hole. “Ohmygoshohmygosohmygosh! she squealed with glee, certain they were going to come face to face with a Hobbit. Elizabeth could barely contain her excitement. The plan to figure out the mystery of the ghost creatures completely vanished, and was replaced with a new plan: Operation Befriend the Hobbit.

“Let’s go this way!” she hurriedly said as she grabbed Illowy’s hand and began pulling her toward the door. Just before pushing open the door, she spun around and looked at her friend. “Oh my gosh, Illowy, can you believe this?! We’re gonna meet a Hobbit! An actual Hobbit! Isn’t that the most exciting thing you’ve ever heard?! She spun back around so she was facing the door, but continued talking. “I for one hope Merry and Pippin are there, but Frodo is great, too, as is Samwise and Bilbo. I’ll even be excited if I just meet a Hobbit I’ve never even heard of before. What about you, Illowy?”

She stared at the door a moment. It really looked quite nice. And the scene around it was amazing. What a great place to live, she thought as she pushed open the door. “Hello?” She called.

Illowy hardly had a chance to respond as Elizabeth grabbed her hand, bound for the hobbit hole. For a moment, she considered wondering to the girl if she actually believed such creatures like a hobbit might actually exist. Much less the exact characters she seemed to have memorized from the book. Not that Illowy had ever really read them, but she was familiar with some muggle pop culture enough to know what it was. What a silly thought. Then again, she did have to consider that the Hufflepuff did come from the muggle world.

Boy is she going to lose her bloody mind when she realizes mermaids live in the lake and unicorns roam the forest... Care of magical creatures might actually drive her into a mad house, she thought.

The didn't change her mind, however, that the existence of hobbits were complete nonsense. All the same, she allowed the girl to excitedly yammer on and on about this character and that character, as though they were about to meet a dress up character from Disney World, "Just be careful, Elizabeth. You don't know what's in there." she warned as the door was creaked open. It would be a lie if she said she wasn't at least curious though, as she leaned to peer a bit around the blonde's shoulder.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

You and your partner(s) decide to go NORTH through the hobbit door. Once you and your partner’s step through the threshold, the door would slam behind you, locked. The small room was dark. The only that gave out light was a box on an ordinary wooden table treasure box, it’s sides rimmed with gold. It emitted a strong blue glow. Should you step closer, the chest would swing open revealing three pieces of jewelry glowing vibrant blue. Three, perfect it was, one for each. One was a dragon shaped pendant the other was a ring. Have you stumbled across a gift so soon? Or was this just too good to be true?

Across the room, would be a door, a metal door that looked very out of place. The exit. There was a pad of buttons on the door as well as a number pad quite similar to what one would find on a phone. Not that you would know this unless you came from a muggle household. As if an unseen hand had flipped a switch, an internal click would sound and a voice would emanate from an invisible speaker.

“CIPER ME,”

The voice was distinctly feminine, the inflection in her voice did not show any particular interest if it was ever a woman's voice at all. It sounded automated and cold, heavily accented so perhaps you did not hear that quite right.
