Why Me?

Date: March 18, 2024
Lily had been having a rough day. She suffered through classes and she just wasn't into it. She was haunted by the memories of her parents, and blaming herself for what haooed again. Lily just wamted to be alone so when she classes were over she went to an emoty classroom to be alone. She sat on the floor next to a wall and buried herself in misery. She knew she was being too harsh on herself and that it was her fault. She knew it was the idiot who ran through the red light's fault but she never thought that.
Most of the time she was so close to snapping that it was unbelievable. She really tried to be the cheerful and super nice person she once was but it was extremely difficult after losing the people who taught her to be kind. Colin, Liam, and Lorcan didn't know what she was feeling. No one did. Because she wasn't one to open up to anyone, unless she was caught off guard and collapsed. Which hasn't happened yet. Knock on wood.
Lily sat by the wall her face buried in her knees. She wasn't quite crying but she was close to it.

Exams were approaching fast, and she knew the time would fly by so fast that she, rather nobody would be able to register it.
She stepped out of the common room, with her defence against dark art's book, climbing up the stairs to find an empty classroom.
Finding one, she entered, not realising another person's presence in the room. The room was filled up with desks that were quite dusty. She pulled out one of the tables, and dusted it with a parchment and took a seat.
She looked around the room, to get cozy with her environment when she noticed a figure sitting by a wall. The person looked downcast. She could have ignored, but Violet did not have the heart to do so. She got up from her seat, and approached the person. Getting closer, she realised it was a girl. She gently sat cross-legged in front of the girl, and patted her arm, careful not to scare her. "Hey", she started softly, "I am genuinely sorry, for intruding your space.I just came here to study, and noticed you were already occupying the room later on. But, are you ok? If there's something that is weighing you down, you can vent out your feelings to me. It is alright. It will be alright."Reducio238 words!

Why Me?
Lily was stuck in her misery for god knows how long. She eventually wound up looking up when the classroom door opened and she stayed still where she was as the girl came in. She took out a piece of parchment and sweeped ths dust off the desk and chair before looking around. Her eyes landed on Lily and Lily just wanted to melt into the wall. Could she do that? If only she could.
The girl walked over and sat down laying a hand on her arm, patting it. Lily flinched away for a moment but didn't move away as she listened. She just really wanted to be left alone. When the girl said everything would be all right, Lily snapped at her. "No I'm not. I'm sad and miserable and just wish I was back at home with my parents." It was like someone cut open the flood gates because suddenly Lily was crying, tears running down her face. Lily had never broken in front of someone before and it broke her to do this in front of someone she'd never met. It was embarrassing and humiliating to say the least. Lily now wanted to disappear more than ever.

Violet herself felt overwhelmed. She never had faced such a situation. Violet felt confused on how to console the girl infront of her, afterall she was not even sure what was going on with her life. Violet had, at several instances, wanted to be at home too with her parents but she never had to cry out like this. Violet was sure, the situation was not as simple as it sounded like.
Violet gently patted her back, and soothingly said, "I take back my words. It is not alright. But maybe, with someone's support, it will be alright? I do not know what you are going through but I can assure bottling up your feelings would never help. Cry out all you want, and maybe if you want, you can vent out. I will be all ears. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. I do not know if I would be of any help, but I will try my best."Reducio202 words!

Why Me?
Lily cried as she thought about everything she had taken advantage of and how quick she had lost it. When the girl said that she could vent out that was all she needed and she took a deep breath trying to control her emotions. "My parents died during the summer. We had had a fight before and I'm constantly beating myself up about it." Lily whispered . It felt good to let this all out, to get it off her chest. "I feel like if we hadn't fought they would still be alive." Lily whispered burying her head back in her knees. She missed them terribly. She loved Colin and Lorcan and their family, but she missed her real biological parents so much that it was like having a constant stomachache. She missed her mother's cooking, her lemon verbena sent that she always had.
Lily missed her father's laugh. How he would always pick her up and spinning her, calling Lily 'princess'. God she missed everything. She knew she should get over it but she didn't know how to deal with grief. She had never experienced grief before, until July. It had been almost a year but she thought about them every single day and night. And Lily McCoire hated it.

ReducioA simple blue jeans and a beige sweatshirtViolet shivered slightly as the girl mentioned her parents' death. As someone, who dearly loved her parents and yet, sometimes got into a banter with them, the girl's situation hit her hard. Violet could feel her agony, her pain to the point, she herself felt it was unbearable. She softly caressed the girl's red hair. Violet fell short of words. The grief, the wound was so deep, that she felt no amount of consolement could relieve the girl of it. She wanted to hug the girl, but was not sure if the gesture would be appreciated. Violet did not know the girl, but she wanted to tell her, that she would be there for her anytime. However, she tried her best and started, "I know I do not know you and might not have the right to say this, but I am sure, that their death was nothing related to your fight with them before. I am really sorry about their death. I know nobody could ever fill up a parents' space, but I genuinely want to support you through this tough time as much as I can." Saying this, Violet carefully thought about how life is so uncertain and that any moment could be anybody's last moment, and that anything said by you could be your last words to someone. This was probably why, Violet's mother had told her to never say something negative just before their or her own departure.Reducio230 words!
