“ Ah yes, I’m usually MIA during the week of Valentine's Day. When you have so many admirers, the gifts, chocolate and even flowers get a bit tiring don’t they?” he grinned. “ I thought I’d give it another shot to impress me. The many festivities and events our professors planned, I mean. And I gotta say, I’m enjoying it much more now~” he flirted, not so subtle about referring to Eun-ji. It truly was worth it getting out of bed today. It was nice to see her considering the last time they met was…unlike the usual. He was still uncertain whether it was good or bad. But here he was, hoping to get back on track for their usual relationship. Just fun, laughs and entertainment. That's all there is to it.
As she mentioned she knew was just passing by, he could not help but feel a burst of satisfaction wash over him. Unable to hide how pleased he seemed. It was definitely unexplainable where this came from. Especially from how his eyes had an instinct to wander behind her, satisfied to see she indeed came alone. No hot quidditch player as her date. Wow, was there something in the air today? Perhaps the professor placed a unique charm to heighten everyone's mood. He feels an odd sense of rejuvenation. He had half the mind to cough to get his mind back on track. Just fun, laughs and entertainment. That is all there is to it. Really.
As right as he was about to enjoy the ride of endorphins, Eun-ji’s next words woke him up from his light daze. “ Hm? Oh- whaaatt-” he trailed off, a slightly nervous smile plastered on him. Like a child caught misbehaving. “ Nah nah. I mean, I did come here to learn. And I know it looked like I was- I mean - But I'm not now so- haha”. He wanted the ballroom floor to swallow him whole. What the hell he was so nervous about? It was like the thought of her thinking he wasn’t free and available made him panic. It was because I wanted to prove to her I’m a better dancer than her date, that's all. A matter of pride, he told himself. Quickly dispersing his nerves with his usual charming smile he leaned in closer.
“ Anyway Precious, you know what? I have a great idea. You’re already here now. Why not give me a chance to wow you?” he winked, offering her his hand to take. Not so subtly changing the topic. “ Now I’m no expert at dancing, but trust me, you’ll be utterly- irresistibly - swoon”. Hopefully enough for her to forget his earlier slip-up. But honestly, this was Eun-ji. Rarely anything slipped by her. It was as horrifying as it is endearing. That didn’t make him any less eager to take her hand though.

| ⠀ | It was much better once Bailey had removed all the cat hair from her clothes by casting a cleansing spell on herself. Of course, she probably should have done that before coming close to Kim, but hindsight was a bitch. As they moved along the dance floor, Bailey laughed. It must have had something to do with Hana or Eun-ji as she'd looked in that direction before. Eun-ji was not the type of person who would inspire such behavior for no reason, therefore Kim made an educated guess that it must have been Hana. It did kind of fit Hana's personality too. A sigh escaped him as he kept dancing. When Bailey's attention returned to him again, Kim sought to put a more positive look upon his face. But wasn't entirely sure whether he'd succeeded or not. It wasn't as if he tended to smile often. And since the incident, he hadn't really done so more than three times. As the dance continued, Kim spun Bailey around the dance floor. At long last, the dance finally came to an end and Kim slowly dropped his arms, lowering Bailey's as a result too. Kim met her eyes again and inclined his head towards her. "Thank you for the dance." He told her, knowing if words were not used, she might feel inclined to not let him go or worse go after him. And with those words, Kim disentangled himself from Bailey's hand and turned around to head for the door of the ballroom. Kim's time here was done. All he wanted to do now was be alone again. After all, he'd been rudely interrupted earlier! | ⠀ |

“Miss Swann!”
Arianna was reluctant to recognise the boy from her house; although she never paid much attention to her peers. “Yes?” She growled.
“My name is Pyxis, if you hadn’t caught it already. Erm, do you have a dance partner?”
The witch pointedly disregarded the informal introduction. Who did this halfwitted boy think Arianna was? She was the youngest heiress of a distinguished Pureblood family, she would not address any stranger so intimately by their first name. Only a few were deserving of that privilege, and this dimwit was certainly not included amongst those people, especially not with that apprehensive attitude and the sheer rudeness. The stupidity of some people!
The Slytherin folded her arms, her back straight and posture stiff as her beautiful features were slightly twisted when a disdainful sneer formed upon her lips. Her parents had always taught her to be proud of her lineage and the power and etiquette that came with being a Pureblood. She was born to become something extraordinary, above all those with their bloods and magical potential diluted. Those who had forgotten thousands years of tradition and paganism. Arianna didn't need to know about the Muggle world to know they were lesser in every way--she couldn't imagine living in a place where the wonders and potency of magic did not exist.
“Unfortunately I don’t. Mister Hellebore.” she sneered, dark orbs scrutinising the boy in front of her. Button-up and slacks; it wasn't the most appealing look, but she would have to put up with it if she was ever going to find a partner.

@Arianna Swann February 10th, 2024With her half-suppressed laugh at whacking him and a sneer that reminded him of some entitled guests at the Inn, Pyxis had half a mind to back right off of this girl and continue dancing on his own. He truly did love to prove people wrong, but in most other circumstances, the other party usually didn’t have the ability to hex him to kingdom come if they didn’t like him. And he hadn’t much interaction with Miss Swann before, but after the very minute interchange that just happened before him, he was quite sure that hitting him with a Curse of the Bogies wasn’t too far down on her list.
But the snake’s eyes widened slightly when she abruptly ended the sentence after confessing that she had no dance partner. Was that an invitation to ask? Or… am I just supposed to take the hint? Luckily or unluckily for Miss Swann, taking hints wasn’t one of Pyxis’ foremost skills and the absence of a non-acceptance was like music to his ears. And he was quite glad that she had at least caught his last name in class, saving him from the awkwardness of having to convince her that they were in the same year and house.
“Then, may I have this dance?” He held out his right palm for her - stiffly as his dominant hand was his left - and bent just slightly at the waist. The formality of it all had him flush slightly as he really hadn’t been made to keep up his etiquette training at Hogwarts, but his casual approach seemed to have offended her before, so he wasn’t about to be relaxed lest he drew her ire even further.

Blue in English, Red in KoreanEun-ji quirked an eyebrow at his response. She had always assumed Hana would be the type of guy to enjoy Valentine's Day, given how much he relished in flirting with others. Besides, while she coveted quite a bit of his time recently, she wasn’t naive enough to think herself special. She was pretty sure there were multiple people eager to catch his eye on this day. No matter how annoying he could be, there was a strange charm about him that drew people in - herself included. Not that she would ever admit that aloud, even just thinking it was already plenty preposterous. Her suspicions were confirmed when he himself brazenly brought up the topic of his numerous admirers. “Oh really? Your life seems very hard indeed. I’m sorry for your suffering.” The Ravenclaw quipped back, teasingly sympathetic towards his complaints of receiving too many gifts. It was fun to play along with him. She missed this. The simple back and forth game that made her fingertips tingle with excitement. Their last encounter was anything but simple and while she appreciated seeing a whole new side of him, it also stirred up feelings within her that she wasn't quite ready to explore. At least not right now.
I guess coming here was not such a bad idea after all, Eun-ji thought upon closer observation of Hana's expression. He appeared to be in high spirits for some unknown reason, and his happiness seemed to rub off on her. She couldn't quite understand why he became so cheerful after hearing that she was simply passing by, but for once, she decided not to dwell on it. The witch was just grateful to see him happy. Ah... yet another incomprehensible thought.
Trying to distract herself from the series of unusual thoughts, the Ravenclaw instead opted to ask Hana about his previous dancing partner. For some reason, the question left a bitter aftertaste in her mouth, but the reaction was priceless. Enough to forget any negative feelings she might have had just a second ago. Reducing the boy to a stuttering mess was more fun than anticipated. It was all she could do not to chuckle at his struggles. Adorable. Her brain supplied an unexpected evaluation, making her freeze for a moment. Wait…that’s not right. Amusing…sure! But adorable? Where did that come from? Clearly, her brain was on some kind of rebellious streak today. Perhaps it was all the couples surrounding them that affected its function. Honestly, she wouldn’t be surprised. It was all a little bit too sweet.
“I see you're feeling brave today,” Eun-ji smiled, her voice filled with amusement. “Well then, I'll let you try and impress me if you dare.” She added as she took the offered hand and followed him to the dancefloor. To be honest, it wasn't easy to impress her, but dancing was the one exception to that rule. Despite being a skilled dancer herself, she had a genuine appreciation for any effort put into dancing, no matter how big or small. Of course, Hana didn't need to know that - let him work for her approval a little bit today.Interacting with: @Hanako Tone
