New Beginnings and New Friends
Eirunn was anxious and excited, and the mix was making her stomach knot rather uncomfortably. She had managed to find an empty car against all odds and had settled in after a bit of difficulty getting her trunk up on the rack overhead. The seats were plush and the red cushions were easy to sink into. It was very different to the rough chairs and stools she was used to. Down the train aways, she could hear the rattle of the trolley cart making its way down the cars. Now she peered out at the passing landscape, but couldn't help but remember her earlier departure at the train station. Mamai had been wiping away tears, and she never cried! Dadai didn't cry, but he did give her a great, big hug and hadn't let go until Mamai had told him the train had been about to leave.
A slight pinch to her thigh jolted her out of her thoughts. With a smile, she reached into her left robe pocket and pulled out a crab. It angrily snapped its little pinchers as she placed it on her open palm. It scuttled back and forth over her hands as she cupped it carefully. It wouldn't do to drop the crab- that wouldn't be very nice.

"All right, Dimitri. It's time to get up on the train," said his mother. giving him a warm hug.
His dad was curt as always, but still encouraging. "You'll be fine!" He was a man of few words, but he gave his child a hug as well.
All of them were wearing dark color clothing, his mother in dark violet, his father in dark brown, while their child was in his Hogwarts school clothes already, completely with a black cloak on top.
His mom then chipped in," Keep away from direct sunlight, study hard, make loads of friends and have fun. Anything I'm forgetting, hun?"
"That's about it, love. Oh, there goes the first whistle. Let's find you a nice seat first, and better yet and empty compartment."
Dimitri didn't find a totally empty compartment, but he did find one that was almost so. It was more peaceful that the other compartments; people not running around, no screaming and squealing, and generally no chaos.
After his parents helped him load his luggage on board the train and said their final goodbyes, he tottered up carrying his trunk. There was just one other person there, to whom he said," Hello, can I sit here? Not reserved I hope?"

New Beginnings and New Friends
There was a bit more shuffling of feet outside the car as the rest of the students found available seats. The train had started moving slowly out of the station, so she was somewhat surprised that everyone was keeping their footing. Maybe someone will sit with me? New friends are always fun. If only they would stay to be old friends. Eirunn looked up when a student, most likely a first year, entered the car looking for a seat. She grinned brightly. "Hullo! No one's sitting here yet. Me, of course, but you can sit."
She lifted her hands in a grand gesture and opened them to reveal the crustacean that had been hurrying around in its prison. "Want to see a crab? He's a bit angry with me, but it'll be alright once I get him some sand. Crabs like sand, y'know."
As if in agreement, the crab snapped its pinchers a few more times, making an audible clicking noise.
The boy standing in the doorway just looked rich. Plain and simply, rich. Everything seemed to be in perfect order on him, while her own robes sat wrinkled and already grass-stained. Eirunn tilted her head slightly. "Have you ever been outside?"

New Beginnings and New Friends
Eirunn started a bit before looking over. "Oh, not at all! There's plenty of room, and you haven't missed the Trolley either."
She scoots over the red bench cushions to the window, making more room for the girl. "I'm Eirunn. This is... well, I don't know, but he's nice enough. Is this your first year, too?"
Getting a bit sidetracked, she watches the crab in her hands, seemingly forgetting that she had just been asking questions. It scuttled back and forth, back and forth, and her eyes tracked each movement. It was nice to be lulled into a steady state, rather than the constant whirlwind that her mind usually was. That's what was nice about potion time at home. It forced her to focus, not that she would admit that to her parents.
She refocused and tilted her head. "Where do you think you'll be sorted? I hope I make lots of friends! Some people think I'm too annoying? Niamh doesn't. Do you think I'm annoying?"
Her words tumbled out, and she wasn't really registering what she was asking at any point. Mamai said she needed to work on that, but she forgot again. They're not very good friends, if they think I'm annoying anyway.

"Perfect!" She said with a grin. Delphine reached into the pocket of her jeans and pulled out a couple of old wrappers and papers before reaching her money.
"I'm Delphine. Nice to meet you guys! And yes it is my first year. Which is nerve-wracking."
Delphine closed her hand on the money and watched Eirunn play with the crab while she finished her sentence. Delphine was quite mesmerized by it as she'd never seen a crab so closely before. She tilted her head up to look through the window, they'd be departing now.
After Eirunn spoke, Delphine smiled softly.
"I'm expecting to be placed in Hufflepuff. My family is related to Amos Diggory through my mom. You might have heard about his son, Cedric, who died during a Triwizard tournament in 1994. Tragic loss. I hope I make lots of friends too!"
"Also, no I don't think you're annoying." She added after remembering everything Eirunn had asked. "Would you guys like to be friends? Maybe we can all go into school together. Not alone I mean." Delphine added hastily.
She heard the trolley rolling down the hall through the thin compartment doors. Delphine perked up to see how close it was and what it had to offer. "Chocolate frogs!" She thought.
"The trolley's about to arrive but where do you think you guys'll be placed?"
