Lithaen had always loved animals. When she was only three years old, she found two small kittens she brought home. They barely survived and the only reason they did survive was her mom, but she still thought of herself as their hero. The kittens, looking like little birds instead of kittens, grew up to be her best friends. She named them Otto and Moose, although Otto turned out to be a female cat instead of a male. For short she called her Ot, though she had many, many nicknames!

At first she thought of bringing Otto and Moose to Hogwarts, but she was allowed to bring only one pet and she just couldn't seperate them. Although they were twin-kitties, she was sure they were in love!
Lithaen gasped. "That is so very, very cute!" she told him. "You should! I love a good love story!" She giggled. "My parents met after one of my fathers Quidditch matches. She was fangirling all over him and he fell in love." She sighed dreamily.

Lithaen shook her head. He didn't have to choose another animal just for her! "No, no. If you want a pet ret, you should take one. I can get used to it!" she promised him. "Is it possible though, to cuddle a rat?" Her eyes got big. "Without them attacking you?" Of course, she knew rats didn't just attack people, but in her dreams they definitely did!
"Yes! I'd like to have the girl, the white one. She's adorable. I do have two cats at home, but I can't seperate them, you know.." She shrugged.
When she saw his big eyes, she giggled. "I do! You're so smart!" She giggled again. "Do you think so? Thank you! Hah! Though I'm not that small!"
After taking a sip from her bottle of pumpkin juice, she looked at Aedion. "Do you want to play a game? I sometimes see older students play 'never have I ever' in the common room. Sounds very coolio!"

During his shopping in Diagon Alley for his school supplies, they had stopped by the Magical Menagery by request of his mother. She always wanted to stop by (at least a few times a week) to see how the animals were doing. Of course they were treated great, but Aedion knew his mother just had such a big heart for animals that she didn't like the idea of an animal being stuck in a store for too long. If she thought they were there for too long, she would often come home with a new animal: an owl, a cat, a toad and recently a ferret. This was something very typically like his mother and he thought it was a great trait. She cared a lot about the things she loved: including his father and himself. "I'll write them about it this week. Who knows what they'll tell me? Maybe it's nothing special though, so don't get your hopes up." He listened to her story and grinned at her. "That's a cool story!" he said to her. "Was she his biggest fan?" he wondered with big eyes. "Then that would be a story worth to write in a book, no?" "I'll see. Before the start of the school year I visited Diagon Alley and we went to the pet store, too. My mom rescued some animals, including a ferret. But the cats are also way too cute and fluffy so I have no idea! But I need to work hard for it first. Then I can think if I want a cat, a rat or a ferret." He shrugged and grinned at her. It was fun to discuss these things with her. "She is cute! And suits you. I saw one that looked very similar to that one in Diagon Alley, so they do sell them there." He grinned broadly at her and took another sip of his pumpkin juice. "You already have two cats? All to yourself? So cool! What are they like?" Playing a game would be nice. It could take his mind off some of the stress he was having because of what they were doing. His adventurers spirit hadn't fully been awoken yet, it seemed. "Yes! That's a great idea. Never have I ever, I've heard about that. So I'll think about one..." He put a finger to his head while thinking, rubbing his temples slightly. Lithaen’s school results weren’t as good as her parents hoped they’d be. She wasn’t that bad, but she just could do better and they all knew this. Lithaen had always been the dreamy type. She was always distracted - she just always found ways to do something more interesting than her schoolwork. Her mother always told her how horrible she was to teach something. She could know, because she was the one who homeschooled Lithaen and her brothers. And when she brought her youngest daughter to the Hogwarts expressed, she mentioned not to ruin her teachers life’s.

She did her best not to. She was, in fact, on her best behaviour! Though her grades just weren’t very good. Perhaps Aedion could help her with that. If she taught him ow to fly, he could help her.
“No!” Lithaen shook her head. “I am sure they have some great stories to tell.” She chuckled. “Yes, she was! And now I am his biggest fan he always tells me.” She smiled at him with a proud look on her face. “His biggest, smallest fan! And YES, I am going to write a book about it someday. That’s a perfect plan.”

His mother sounded amazing to her. Lithaen couldn’t wait to meet her! “Why did she rescue them? Isn’t the pet store a good place for them?” She had never heard of that, though she could imagine it wasn’t the best place for a pet to be. They probably didn’t get much love over there. “A ferret sounds like a perfect pet for you. A bit weird, but not in a bad way.” She wiggled her eyebrows up and down.
“No, I share them with the family. Otto is kind of a diva, but very small and very cute. Moose is.. weird. Very cuddly and .. special. There are no words.” She smiled and leaned against the wall behind her.
“What do we do when we did do something? Eat some candy?” She smiled. “But NO! I tried, but I was never able too.. Never have I ever stole candy.”

Both Lithaen and Aedion were still quite young and even though they pretended to be a lot older, the fact remained they were only in their first year at Hogwarts. The things they talked about seemed like big things to them, but to any other older person it would be childish and not a big deal at all. This was, of course, the difference between two kids and two more grown up people. Aedion didn't mind though. He enjoyed being around a person of his age much more than he thought he would. When growing up he always thought he was 'mature' for his age. He was serious and didn't do much things children of his age usually did, but this had everything to do with not being surrounded by the right people. Now, at Hogwarts, he met children his age and that had changed his behaviour already, even though he had only been here for a short period. "I'll ask them and when I get a reply, I'll let you know! My mom is probably excited to talk about it." He grinned while thinking about how his mom would talk to him for hours about how she met his father. "Then I want to be the first one to read that book!" he insisted. "The pet store is a great place for them! They get treated really nice, but my mom just thinks a place like that is not the place where all those cute animals should be. Does that make sense? So she visits the pet store several times a week and if she sees animals that have been there too long, well, in her opinion that is, she takes them home." He giggled. It might be silly, but Aedion loved that his mother was so thoughtful of all the different animals. "They sound great! Moose sounds funny. Like a big goof." Some cats just were big goofballs, Aedion knew and Moose sounded just like that! "What do they look like?" he wondered. When she talked about his question, he nodded. "I've had the same! No matter how hard I try, I can never stay up long enough." His cheeks turned red at her question. "I have..." His voice was turned into a whisper. Although Lithaen really felt like she grew up since she attended Hogwarts last year, she was just a child. She was only eleven years old and she still couldn’t sleep without her favourite plushies. She didn’t play with them as often as she used to, but in her head they still talked to her. She had a little seal - her all time favourite plushie, the pink bear she got when she was born and the brown bear her brother got when he was born. When they were little they always liked to play with their bears, but after Chaols death, she decided to keep his bear, called Lloyd.

Her plushies had their own personalities and she now was the only one who knew about this, as Chaol was no longer with her. Perhaps she would share her little secret with Aedion someday, as he was her best friend.
“And I am excited to meet her!” she told Aedion. “She seems so sweet. Your father too, of course, but your mother and I.. I guess we’ll be friends!” She smiled brightly. “And if I ever write a book, you can be the first. I want you to be the first to read!”

She was probably never going to write a book, though it seems like the perfect plan right now.
“It does make sense,” Lithaen thought. “Animals over there get treated really well, but it’s not like they really have a home. Like they get the love they deserve. I think it’s really, really sweet.” It sounded like something she could do when she was older. Perhaps she even would!
“He definitely is a big goof,” she admitted. Then she chuckled. “The biggest goof ever, but he’s cute.”
She was glad to hear Aedion wasn’t able to stay up late. She hoped one day they could! “It’s hard,” she exclaimed. “Me too!” She wasn’t so secretive about it. “I always stole candy when they were working outside!” Her parents probably knew this and this could even be the reason they didn’t give her much candy, though they never tried to hide it.
“I did break many bones in the past. My arms, several times, my legs..” She giggled. “Never have I ever… slept with my plushie after attending Hogwarts.”

Aedion would be lying if he was saying he wasn nervous. Because, in fact, he was really nervous. They were gonna do something that was out of line and even though they weren't technically breaking any rules just yet, but the thought of it might've been too much of an adventure for Aedion at the moment. Perhaps they should've started with something else. Something during the day and something that wasn't rule breaking in the slightest. The boy nervously took a sip of his pumpkin juice, quietly listening as if he could hear anyone on the many stairs of the Astronomy Tower. It was quiet, which indicated that nobody was coming. But for how long? "You and my mom would be best friends. Well, not best friends maybe since we are besties right now. So perhaps only friends, but that's good too!" He nodded with a big smile on his face as he was looking at her. This thought cleared him of some of the nervousness, but definitely not all of it. He looked over his shoulder again and frowned. A big sigh left his mouth as he looked at Lithaen. He had to say something, but he felt like a big idiot. A baby. Who wouldn't be up for something like this? Who didn't want to have fun? Of course Aedion wanted to have fun, but he had never in his life done something like this. He cleared his throat and nervously smiled at Lithaen. "I need to tell you something," he said to her. "And I sound silly and dumb, but... I am not sure if I can do this. I've been pretty nervous all evening because I am scared that we will get caught. I don't wanna be responsible for getting like 50 points taken from Slytherin. So as much as I am enjoying myself, I feel like we need to cut this evening short and think of something less... risky." A loud sigh left his mouth. "I am terribly sorry, Lithaen. Please forgive me? I hope you still want to be friends and... And we should do something fun next time! Or I help you study or...
