Georgia had never been one for academics, even when she'd been at her Muggle school. She wondered, sometimes, if that meant she was a disappointment to her family: her older brother was on track to become a doctor, and both her parents worked in academia. Georgia, in contrast, was a more creative and adventurous soul, drawn to exploring the outdoors and singing at the top of her lungs. Her dream had been to become someone famous, like a singer or an actress, but Hogwarts had started to change that. She supposed she could still pursue that life, if she wanted, but she was a witch now. Were there magical singers? There had to be, right? There was a magical government and a magical school and magical police and a magical prison, so there must be magical musicians and actors and other celebrities. She'd have to ask someone, the next chance that she got.

The young Gryffindor's destination was the grounds, where she fully intended to soak up the sun and to take a well-earned break. She might never have been one for academics, but Hogwarts was changing that about her too. Something about a magical school made her want to try harder in all her lessons, even if some of them--History of Magic, for one--were incredibly boring. It frightened her to think that if she did so badly in her lessons that they'd expel her from the school, that she'd have to go back to her normal muggle life, and she didn't know if she could handle that. But even beyond that fear, magic made all of her studies just a little bit more exciting, a little bit more engaging. Even if it was hard work forcing herself to study, it felt rewarding to learn more about her new life and her new heritage.

Even with her newfound dedication to her education, Georgia couldn't deny that she'd probably spent more time than was necessary indoors lately. If she hadn't been holed up in the library, then you could find her in the study room, pouring over texts; if that hadn't been an option, then it was easy to find her curled up in the Gryffindor common room, her head in a book while she scratched down notes and information for her homework. She was, to say the least, more than a little burnt out.

It had been Georgia's intention to talk a walk around the large grounds, enjoying the fresh air and spending some time with her thoughts, but she found herself slowing to a stop as she found an unoccupied spot on the nearby hill. Without any ceremony at all, she fell to the ground, her body falling in a perfect 90-degree arc as she landed, face down, on the grass. It was a little damp with dew, but she didn't care. It felt nice to be outside again, to feel the grass underneath her and the gentle rays of the sun above. "Ugh," she said, as she landed. "I'm becoming one with the earth. Take me away, worms!"

She laughed to herself as she rolled onto her back, drinking in the sight of the blue sky above. Clouds drifted across her vision, occasionally blocking out the sun. Georgia was glad she'd pulled her robes on, keeping her warm despite the occasional chill. She'd stay here for a while, and then she'd be on her way, looking for something else to do.

River had a plan for the day, to do absolutely nothing, nothing at all! But where to do nothing at all? she wondered, as she had just put down her quill, to cross off today on the callendar. It was definitely a nice day. The sun was shining brightly outside, filling the room with energizing light. Well I can’t stay inside on a day like this, she decided that taking advantage of this fine weather was necessary. So that is where she would do nothing, outside. By the lake, the grounds or the quidditch pitch was not yet decided. He would just go wherever the light breeze took her.

As she walked out of the grand doors to the castle, she felt the warm sunrays glide across her face, she squinted, and shielded her eyes from the light. She looked around the grounds, trying to find a spot where she could sit down, and forfill her great plan of doing nothing in particular. Well, there were quite a few people by the lake, so she did not feel like heading there, and there seemed to be training going on at the pitch. I’ll just wander the grounds then I guess, and she began walking across the grounds. Occationally closing her eyes, and just taking a deep breath, feeling the fresh air fill her lungs.

It had been a long week, and today was the time to relax. No homework, no classes, no stress, and for once, no books...
River looked around the area she had walked upon, and noticed someone laying there on the ground. Seems like they are having a relaxed time, she thought, or maybe she’s just hurt? she wondered. Perhaps she just wanted to be alone? Well in that case, she’s just got to tell me, and I’ll leave her alone,River concluded, and walked ip to the girl laying there in the grass.

«Uhm, hey», she started, «Careful, don’t let the bugs get you», River said in a ‘I’m joking’ tone of voice, she chuckled a little, Jeez River, why did you say that?, «Aaanyway, mind if I lay down? Or would you rather be alone?», River asked, smiling down at the girl with the wavy brown hair.

Georgia had been so lost in her daydreams that she had completely failed to notice anyone approach her. When she heard the voice, she jumped in her own skin, startled out of her reprieve. She glanced up and struggled to ascertain the identity of the speaker from her angle, and rose to a sitting position, pressing her hand to cover her eyes against the sun as it peeked down at them through the clouds. From her new position, Georgia had a better look of the newcomer, and flicked her eyes up and down. It was a short but pretty red-haired girl, with eyes bluer and brighter than her own; a smattering of freckles covered her face, giving her a certain charm.

"Ah, too late for that, I think... I might be one with the bugs already!" she said, laughing. Her cheeks flushed as she spoke, slightly embarrassed at her own dorkiness, but she grinned warmly, trying to reassure the girl that she hadn't found her comment weird. "Oh, absolutely! You can lie down! The ground's for everyone!" She patted the ground next to her, encouraging the girl to take a seat. "I'm Georgia, and I'm just chilling--but you can chill with me, if you want!"

Charlie sat in the Ravenclaw Common Room reading a book, as she could be caught doing most days. She sat on the blue sofa, her legs together, but bent to the side, as she leaned into the side of the couch. She had been reading for about 30 minutes, and was coming to a stopping point when the light from the outside window hit her book, the sun glaring on the page she was reading. She looked up and out the window. The sun had just came out from a cloud. It looked so nice and warm outside. She marked her place in the book with a eagles feather, and closed it, looking around the Common Room. It was empty save for a couple of students. Most are probably outside, she thought.

She stood up and stretched. She was getting sleepy reading, but it was far too early in the day to take a nap. She decided to go for a walk outside. She put the book back on the bookshelf and headed out towards the Grounds. As she made her way down the always switching staircases, she wondered if she should have taken the book with her. She always loved falling asleep outside to a good book. The staircase switched on her, and she knew she had to take a different way, and she didn't feel like going back up and getting the book.

She finally stepped outside onto the grounds. She stood still for a moment, closing her eyes, and lifting her head up to the sun. It was perfect. Not to warm, not to cool. Just right! She started walking, examining the students by the lake. A little too chilly to take a dip, not that she would after reading about the squid.

As she walked on, she spotted two girls up on the hill side. It looked like a perfect spot to sit and soak up the sun rays, and maybe make a friend or two. She walked on over, smiling at the two girls as she made eye contact.

"May I join you guys?" she asked, "It's a beautiful day out!" she exclaimed afterwards, unsure of what else to say. She wasn't the best when it came to walking up to strangers and introducing herself, but as her mother always told her, practice makes perfect.

River chuckled at the girls comment about the bugs, she seemed to be in a good mood at least. It seemed so nice laying there in the nice weather, on this peaceful day. The blue-eyed girl seemed very friendly, and River smiled again at her answer. River sat down in the grass with her knees tucked up to her chest as she looked out over the grounds. She took a nice deep breath, and closed her eyes, before her back landed on the soft grass with a heavy thud. She opened her eyes again, and they were blinded slightly by the sun.

The girl had introduced herself, but River zoned out slightly. She quickly snapped back to reality, searching through her brain to remember what the girl had said. «Oh right, It’s nice to meet you Gorgia, I’m River», she said politely. «I would usually shake your hand at this point, but I don’t think it really works in a horizontal position..., she said, and let out a breathy laugh. «And also, my upper body suddenly became too heavy to sit up again», she added quickly, and turned her head towards Georgia.

River could see someone approaching them in the distance, a girl it looked like. She too, was probably driven outside by the nice weather. As she got closer, she asked if she could join in the very eventfull hardcore chilling that was going on, «Of course you may, I’m River», she answered, and smiled up at the girl. «And it is a beautiful day indeed», she added, and looked back up to the blue sky above them. «So, what do you want to chat about? Or is it a more, just lay here in silence and relax, type of day?», she asked the two of them.
River could almost feel the vitamin D flowing into her skin at this point. She was so pale, one could almost see right through her on sunny days. Luckily she had put on sunfactor before stepping outside, or she would probably have had a sunburn already.
