"What moment?" Isaac asked, crossing his arms. He didn't see why the girl in sweatpants was suddenly going ballistic. His own face reddened at her tone; he hated being yelled at more than anything, especially by a student. It was enough to have his parents and teachers going off on him like an atomic bomb, now some random girl at the party was doing it too? And worst of all, she was yelling at him for no reason.@Dinara Lucey
"I didn't see any moment happening. She asked a question, I answered it because you weren't quick enough." he shot back bluntly."If you wanted to answer so badly 'Dinara Lucey' then you should've done it. I'm not surprised she walked away from you."
Blood roared in his ears, and he was suddenly aware of how he towered over her. His eyes locked with hers, blazing with hostility. Perhaps it was the strange punch after all which made him sick to his stomach, but he couldn't stop his temper from flaring up. Swiftly, his hands once held limply at his sides clenched into fists.
Normally, Isaac wasn't the best with his anger. It would erupt suddenly and uncontrollably, bubbling out of him like lava, and it had on several occasions before, all of which he regretted. Most of the time, it ended up in him getting detention for hitting another student or even worse, expulsion. It was only the threat of being kicked out of school that still kept his hands bound to his sides, as demonic fury lashed about inside of him.

unfortunately he has a bad temper too. ack. I promise he's usually not this mean.

There it was again; the feeling that she was being watched, but this time she could find the eyes. A small group of three children had shot a few glances at her, and the taller boy dancing with the ginger. Perhaps they have further information? There were some other students that were watching as well.
What? Her attention turned back to the boy that she grabbed. Bleeding, as expected, but he was bleeding alot. Thin-skinned, must be thin-skinned. The glass that she had was small, thin, practically invisible, unless one were to turn her hand over. The worst it could have done was give him cut as deep as a paper cut. Or so she thought. Must have grabbed him too tightly. But now the boy was mad. He reached out to push Xailah. She took a step back, avoiding the first push. "Don't you dare touch me!" She hissed, but he reached out again."You damn crazy-ass bitch!"
Everything slowed, there were students watching, and she knew it. She turned what was probably a small, but aggressive shove into a push. A shove would have most likely made her hit the table, and knock over a few things. But this was not to be. She allowed herself to fall heavily into the table, causing the whole thing to fall. Perfect. She was given a chance to dispose of the "weapon" that was hidden between her fingers, and make the older boy look like a total dick. After all, there was now no evidence of her purposely trying to harm the boy. Really, this boy did himself a great disservice.
She got up quickly, to reprimand the older student. Ouch. Thats going to leave a bruise in the morning. "Jusssst who do you think you are? Thinking you can go and touch me like that?! And thossse words?! Would you speak like that in your Grandmothersss houssse? How about your motherssss?" She scowled "You made me lose a ring my Grandmother gave to me; you overreacted because it cut you, and now its gone!" Was there a ring? No. But the lie was clever. This boy was obviously ignorant, and most likely gullible, seeing that he lacked the vocabulary to verbally fight her.
"What a pussy. You know, I hope that you're proud of yourself, you just ruined this party for me and hundredsss of other sssstudents." She turned her direction away from the boy for a second. What is that smell? It didn't take her long to find the source of the smell. The smell was of course that of a smoldering tablecloth. What moron decorates a party for children, with candles? "Oh look what you did. I ought to take you to a professor. In fact, I think I will." She was considering it, and was just about to walk away, until she realized that if she did so, there was a chance that she would no longer be able to obtain any answers to her questions. Her features softened. "-Or, maybe you and I can take a little trip elsewhere to sssettle this dispute. I can ssshow you a good time." She gave him a gentle smile, she raised her voice a little, so that others could hear. "In the foressst near here there is a large rock sssshaped like a tortoise. It isn't hard to find. Meet me there in fifteen minutesss- that is of course if you're man enough." An invitation. Not just for him, but for anyone who was listening. "But firssst clean up the mess that you made...It would be quite unfortunate if that fire were to ssspread." She gave him a wink, before turning away. "Remember, fifteen minutesss. No more, no less." She said looking at the second group of bystanders (@Illowy Magnard, @Isaac Ambrose, and @Dinara Lucey) .
She pushed by them completely ignoring the burning table cloth, and said "Don't mind the fire, but do mind the older sssstudents." She couldn't help but feel a bit gross. Gross? Was that even the right word? Lowering herself to this boys level, acting like she was totally into him, when she wasn't. Disappointment was probably a better word. Maybe. Wandering among the crowd of students, she came up behind the first group of watchers (@Arc Perscivious, @Summer Hearst, and @Raine Sage).
Forcing herself into their little group, she grabbed the blonde girl by the hand, and began dancing. "Boo." She didn't know the girl, in fact she didn't know any of them, but she could at least act like she did. "I couldn't help but notice," She switched to another student, this time grabbing the boy in the group up "That you were watching me, and the giant over there," She reached out to dance with the girl with the dark hair, and grey eyes "and I think it is sssafe to assume that we both know that sssomething is off about this party, yesss?" She twirled and gave them all a toothy little grin. "Any of you have some useful information? Perhapssss we can exchange what we know?" Risky move on her part, this was all based on assumptions. She had no idea if they had actually heard anything, or seen anything useful.

(so Summer's watching the fight between the older student and Xailah, maybe Raine or Arc heard Rosie and Edwin)
The blonde laughed as Raine pulled her and Arc to the side of the dancefloor, almost getting lost in the music for the seconds that followed. She danced alongside the two for a few seconds, trying her best to get slightly closer to the scene. Soon enough, the one with the girl in black and the strangely tall boy had escalated into a yelling fight.
That had been the male. Meanwhile, the aforementioned brunette had been shoved onto a table. Summer froze her dancing and gasped, her blue grey eyes widening in shock. Meanwhile, the Headmaster himself had flung those in another fight apart- quite literally. She tried to keep up with what was happening around her, but it was all... a lot."The hell you think you're doing cutting people like this you damned sociopath!"
"Arc, Raine!" She whispered, grabbing Raine's arm and Arc's suit sleeve with urgency. "Look over there. I mean, not that you missed it, but..." She pointed.
The dark haired girl had stood again, on the other hand, and looked rather angry. She scowled before retaliating.
Now, that whole rant had strayed rather quick. The blonde's eyebrows jumped up slightly at the last part, but she continued to listen in on the happenings. She almost screamed at the sight of the fire behind the pair, but forced herself not to in order to prevent the obvious havoc that would ensue."Jusssst who do you think you are? Thinking you can go and touch me like that?! And thossse words?! Would you speak like that in your Grandmothersss houssse? How about your motherssss? You made me lose a ring my Grandmother gave to me; you overreacted because it cut you, and now its gone! What a pussy. A location."In the foressst near here there is a large rock sssshaped like a tortoise. It isn't hard to find. Meet me there in fifteen minutesss- that is of course if you're man enough. But firssst clean up the mess that you made...It would be quite unfortunate if that fire were to ssspread."
Strange. They had been fighting earlier and now she wanted to met him later. The girl obviously had ulterior motives, but Summer guessed they weren't anything wicked since the girl herself seemed less suspicious than the boy. But she couldn't know. She wasn't even sure why the location had been dropped, but she was even more confused when the girl moved over to join them.
Huh?
She had lost sight of the mystery girl once again, where had she gon-
Summer jumped as someone pulled her hand to dance. She did a quick spin to hide her second of fear, facing the person who had surprised her. It was the girl again, and this time she switched to dancing with Arc, and then with Raine. All the while, the girl spoke."Boo!"
Should we deny it? Are we doing something wrong?"I couldn't help but notice that you were watching me, and the giant over there..."
Apparently not, because the girl confirmed she also felt something was off about this whole party. She then asked them what information they had to offer. Even though the Veritaserum had been wearing off, Summer couldn't help but feel this girl knew something too, so she spoke up.
"The ginger doesn't look too sure about the boy she's dancing with over there, but she's still kind of fine around him-" Summer made a tilt gesture of the head. "-and I missed that conversation. I don't know what his motives are but... I don't know, things just seem... weird."

Ami laughed loudly, maybe a little bit too loudly, as Scott brought up the bright red dress she had given him. It had looked absolutely ridiculous on him, obviously, but it was still hilarious that he had kept it. It had only been for one afternoon that they had used it, to try and get Scott to look like a drag queen, but whatever. He looked perfectly fine now- a little ridiculous, yes, but still fine.
Grinning back at him as he downed a cup of punch and agreed to dancing, Ami bounced up and down on her toes a little bit. How fun! She couldn't help but feel like they ought to do this type of thing more, this whole dancing predicament. It wasn't like they were amazing at it, but they were still fairly competent at it, which was more than she could say for most kids their age.
It looked like he had been reaching for her hand, and Ami opened her palm slightly, but Scott pulled away at the last moment. Whatever. Clenching her hand back into a fist, she trailed after her friend, following him to an open spot on the relatively empty dance floor. Many people seemed to have deserted the scene, choosing to spend their time elsewhere rather than here, with Lear running around with a spray bottle and older students running amock all over the place.
Curtsying with a bit of a wobble, Ami grinned cheekily at Scott, tilting her head to the side. She closed her eyes for a fraction of a second, listening closely to the music playing in the background. All her training and knowledge of music came into play now, and she announced, "Mm... I think that's a waltz. Well, not really- sounds like a 6-8 time signature, although I can't really tell, it's really ambiguous... but that's basically a waltz, I guess." Holding her arms out to Scott, she was about to take his hands in hers before something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. "What the hell...?"
A girl seemed to be enduring a good amount of verbal and physical harrassment from an older student over by the buffet table, and Ami glanced at Scott before dropping her arms. "Hey, Scott... what do you think's happening?" She inclined her head over in the girl's direction, and the minor commotion. "What do you think? Think she's worth rescuing?"

Of course Rose had taken the boy’s hand. She was loath to stand by the punch all night looking every bit as awkward as she felt. So yes, she failed to use her wisdom and naively allowed him to lead her to the dance floor. “Oh... he doesn’t know I’m here. I just got back to school after some time away.” Her cheeks took on a bit of a blush. Why was she being so forthcoming? Of course, she’d missed the news about the punch having been spiked. As they reached the floor, she stuggled to find a place for her hands, finally just letting her hand rest on his chest and the other in his hand.
It’s was too late. His next words had her looking around the dance. Edwin hadn’t lied. People were looking at them, but the boy she was dancing with was large, and handsome. She’d be lying to herself to ignore that much. “I don’t think it’s me they’re looking at...” Rosie trailed off as Edwin continued on. “That actually sounds like someplace he’d be.” And it was true. Even before his new leaf, Howie had always been a free spirit. He was the brave one. She gave a single, slow nod. She was about to go with him before an orange glow from the refreshment table caught her eyes
Rosie froze and stared. The hand on his arm gripped tighter and with surprising strength. She didn’t turn away or make a move to go anywhere with Edwin. The red head did, however, draw a bit closer to the half giant almost instinctively seeking a buffer between her and the flames. There wasn’t a single thing romantic about the move.

The anger he had felt fled him upon seeing the leaping flames consuming the refreshments table in a heartbeat. The fire was relentless, glowing bright gold and flaring over the tablecloth, quickly spreading to the cupcakes and burning the pizza. The sickening smell of the oily pizza burning filled the air, and Isaac choked on the disgusting scent. From there, the fire expanded, smoke filling the air in a nauseous cloud. Lights sparked out of control, and the flickering flames were growing closer to the trees. His heart leapt into his throat and he backed away from the glowing flames, yelling to Dinara, "Get out of the way!"Interacting with: @Dinara Lucey
There had to be something he could do to put the fire out. Panic slammed into him, making his breath come quickly, but his expression was one of determination. Think, think, think! I don't know a water spell, and we're at the campgrounds. The Great Lake is at least a mile from here. Bloody hell, how did this even happen!?
Adrenaline kicked in, and he knew he'd have to improvise. All of his sense screamed for him to stop, but he ignored it. It was now or never. The first-year dashed closer to the fire, coughing through the clouds of smoke and gritty ash that seared his throat. With viper-like speed, he grabbed the punch bowl which hadn't been consumed by the fire yet, and threw it onto the flames. The multicolored liquid soared through the air, but only produced a hiss upon hitting the fire. It wasn't enough.
Staring wild-eyed at the other students with a sooty face, he couldn't believe how they could just stand there when all of their lives were in danger. He shouted at the top of his lungs over the roaring of the fire, "Someone help!"

Illowy's attention was pulled from the crazy second year and dead focused on the fire that was quickly turning to a blaze; and just like the rest of the students at the moment, she was just standing there while another first year dared to venture in to try to put out the flames. Blue hues flickered back and forth, trying to comprehend what to do in this situation as he tried pouring the bowl of punch on the blaze.
Of course it had to be that moment as he poured the punch she thought that maybe they might smother the fire if they wet another table cloth but that option was out the window, and with the Great Lake so far, there was no other way to drown it. Her eyes traveled down the buffet. So long as it had something to catch, the fire would keep crawling... Then it struck her.
Isolate it. Like a firebreak wall.
The girl broke away from her friend and shouldered her way towards the boy, "Isolate it! Make a firebreak so it can't catch anything else!" she barked, pulling the sleeves of her sweater as far down as she could, hoping it would offer better protect against the flames if they licked her before she mimicked the boy's original bravery, quickly starting for a table nearest the flames that hadn't caught yet.
With some effort, and will power to not jump away from the bouncing flames, she pushed the table as far off as she could, letting whatever fall off that might. All the while she was still trying to keep recalling things she might've picked up in her short years about putting out fires. Her mind tumbled through every simple way to put out a fire that would help, but in at the moment, she was all hands and feet; pushing and kicking away anything near the perimeter of the blaze that might worsen it, and flicking up the ends of the table cloths already lit to keep them off the ground where it might spread through the foliage. If it got any taller, however, she feared for the trees.
"Is there anything else around this bloody campground we can use to smother it? Dirt, sand, something? Would the other table cloths be enough to smother it?" She questioned to anyone who might have their wits about them, taking a couple steps away from the blaze. She swallowed down the smokey taste that clung to her throat, her cheeks hot as she shook out singed hands from the sleeves of her now ruined sweater; though at the moment any pain would be a dull ache until they dealt with the matter at hand.

Arc happily agreed to Raine’s suggestion as he was not much of a dancer. Meaning, he didn’t dance and he couldn’t dance. He would just step all over Summer’s feet. So, the boy joined his two friends and started swaying around to the music. It was a bit embarrassing really, but the dark-haired kid soon found a distraction to tune out his embarrassment. With a smile still facing the two girls, he moved closer to the huge boy and the ginger girl.
Ah, so the girl’s name was Rosie and the boy was Edwin. Name was always a good starting point. Arc had heard the girl’s name somewhere before, but the boy’s name didn’t ring any bell in his head. The lanky kid had to step out of hearing distance and lost some of the conversation as he was supposedly dancing before he came back to a close enough spot."I...I... Uh... Rosie Turner. Second year Huffle. Nice to meet you, Edwin."
"I am honored by your acquaintance,"
Huh. The girl didn’t sound too appalled by the boy. Was he wrong? Could he just be too paranoid? But a big older guy like him, taking a girl presumably alone to the woods…could just be a normal teenager interaction. But it could also be super dangerous. Arc certainly would never want that kind of scenario to happen to Mary, his little sister."You really liked this person didn't you? I could help you find him. And perhaps give him a piece of my mind for standing you up. I heard that a lot of the guys were having a bonfire in the woods. Bit of butter beer. Some revelry. Not really my scene...but if I had any guess as to where he might be, that is where I would guess we would find him."
"That actually sounds like someplace he’d be.”
Summer grabbed Arc by the sleeve and the boy lost his concentration for a second but he concentrated back on the two unlikely couple’s conversation. Until he felt another hand grabbing her, a bit rougher this time. Apparently, the girl that he noticed came over to one of the huge boy lackeys had noticed them. Interesting."Arc, Raine!" Look over there. I mean, not that you missed it, but..."
Summer answered the girl, but she had missed the conversation. So, he probably should fill in on that. Or shouldn’t he? This girl could just be a jealous lover or she could be up to no good… Wait. His lips weren’t so loose anymore. In fact, he hadn’t even talked for quite some time now. Like he usually was when facing a good puzzle to solve. Good. The effect of potion was wearing off then. That was much faster than Arc had expected. The potion must have been diluted or compromised somewhat. Anyway, what to say to this dark brown-haired girl?"I couldn't help but notice, that you were watching me, and the giant over there, and I think it is sssafe to assume that we both know that sssomething is off about this party, yesss? Any of you have some useful information? Perhapssss we can exchange what we know?"
“Hi, first of all, my name is Arc.” The boy grabbed the hand grabbing him back, making a somewhat modified handshake. “What’s yours?”
The boy swayed along to the rhythm, moving his body away from the tall boy, hoping he would be far enough for him to hear.
“Secondly, that big boy’s name is Edwin. Heard of him?" Arc took a peek of the boy before continuing. "Considering his young face and the look of his friends, he shouldn’t be that much older than us, like only one or two years older. But his height and stature, though… He might not be entirely human. Half-giant perhaps. And the girl’s name is Rosie. Your turn.” Arc prompted for the girl to give some information in return.
He was not sure this was a good idea.

Elizabeth watched in horror as flames engulfed the refreshment table. "Oh, no!" she whispered, her hand flying to her face. She thought something terrible would happen, and now it did. She stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do. She wanted to run, to get away from the fire, but as she watched both Illowy and the other first-year race to action to stop the fire, Elizabeth felt a strong need to assist. She thought fast, an idea formulating in her mind. It was crazy, but would it work? She shook her head in disbelief at what she was about to do and sprang to action.
Elizabeth took a few deep breaths, her eyes fixed on the flaming table, and began running toward it, full speed. A more reasonable person might have thought of something less dangerous, but Elizabeth wasn't known for being reasonable. She was known for doing the first thing that popped into her head.
Once at the table, she didn't stop, even as the air grew hotter, and the smoke threatened to suffocate her. Instead, she kept going, throwing herself at the table, attempting to knock it down and perhaps extinguish the flames, or at least make it more manageable to deal with.

Upon seeing Elizabeth actually charge the table, Isaac was in absolute shock. Is she trying to die? The thought raced through his head as fast as lightning, and his reflexes kicked in. Darting out behind Elizabeth, he ran as fast as he could and just barely grabbed her by the arm. His breath was almost spent, but he managed to cough, "Don't do that! You're going to end up burning to death!"@Illowy Magnard | @Elizabeth Linscott
But he couldn't wait and see if she got the message. The flames continued to spread, and the smoke covering the campgrounds was growing more and more thick. With regret, he let go of her. Isaac needed to somehow figure out how to battle the blaze without it killing everyone.
Illowy's words echoed in his head, and he turned her plan over in his mind, thinking hard. Make a firebreak to stop it from reaching the trees. Okay, what can we use around here?
The Gryffindor leapt into action, skirting the flames as he dashed and encountering a table further from the fire. It felt unwieldy in his hands, but he picked up the silken tablecloth, pondering what exactly to do with it. He couldn't soak it with water, and no one seemed to know a water spell. Why is this so damn difficult? he thought in frustration. Turning to the Slytherin girl, he asked urgently, "Can you use this in any way? I'll try and see if I can get something else to throw on it."
What had the brunette mentioned earlier? Dirt and sand. There was plenty of dirt around here, but to throw enough dirt on the flames, they would need much more than their bare hands. Suddenly, an idea flew into his head. Turning to Illowy, he quickly explained, "I need to go get something, and I'll be right back. Until then, make sure the fire doesn't reach the trees."
And with that, the boy ran so fast away from the grounds that it was if he were flying, legs blurred and arms pumping like wings.
