BESTIES FOR THE RESTIES

Serene, the definition of Serenity in Violet's life, her bestfriend for life, her cute pretty, white fur cat. The cat had died an year before Violet came to Hogwarts, but the memories made, remained unforgettable. The little girl was still as much in love, with her best friend. The two of them together would play out in the garden together. Violet's room would always act as a temporary shelter to Serene as they would often be found fast asleep together, tired after all that playing. On days, when her parents would be busy, her grandparents would be travelling, she would sit with her Serene outside in the garden area setting up a picnic for the two of them with the help of Ella, often inviting her as well. Serene, would run around in circles, catching imaginary things otherwise she would be found randomly getting Violet flowers that had fallen. Her death was untimely, something Violet could not except till date but that did not resurrect her Serene, her bestfriend.

HOUSE ELF

Ella is the Rohr family's main house elf and has served them for ages, almost being there since Caspian was just a baby. The house elf having taken care of Caspian once as a baby, was immensely respected in the household. Age really had no effect on her, and she could work just as efficiently. Violet had always felt close to Ella, Ella being her caretaker when her parents were on duty and her grandparents normally being busy travelling around the world. The relation between the two was quite special, with Ella often left to complaint to Aaliyah in the evening about how hard it was to handle Violet. Violet on the other hand loved to tease and irritate Ella. She would never wear the dress selected the first time by Ella, making the house elf huff and puff around the room selecting other one. Violet would just giggle at the sight. She would play the most horrid tunes on Piano specifically so as to irritate the house elf. She would even force the elf to play hide and seek with her. However, she respected Ella and when Ella had get tired, she would herself bring a glass of water for the elf.

HOME SWEET HOME

The Rohr Mansion is a Victorian era mansion, the exact dates of it being built unsure. The mansion was passed down, generation to generation, modified and renovated with time. The mansion is bounded by old magic. Around the mansion, is a vast garden having all kinds of flowers and trees, both muggle and magical. One is lead to the entrance by a rather narrow path for such a huge mansion. However, the narrowness of the path is made up by the large entrance door, with ancient era door knobs having no keyholes. The insides of the mansion are twice as beautiful as the garden. The living room, looks quite modern for the ancient mansion yet manages to match the theme perfectly. The floor of the room is carpeted and the sofas are arranged as such, that they face each other. The centre table, is indeed in the centre with a comparatively small, yet intricately designed elephant showpiece. The indoor plants rest on the side tables of the sofa while the walls are covered with huge paintings, often showcasing the Rohr glory. The wall is also adorned by a black sculpture painting. Maximum of ten people can be seated in the room. Larger gatherings took place in the ballroom, whose lights could be modified by magic. The ceiling of the room was enchanted to look higher, with a now Indian style chandelier hanging in the middle. The room was large, but could not accommodate more than 50 people. The Kitchen is located just behind the dining area, the delicate aromas of a mix of English and Indian food filling up the dining room. The dining area is specifically made up for the family with not more than 12 chairs. The stairs lead up to the rooms, even the guest rooms, that scream royalty, decorated with black and brown, often green. Besides the room, there is a library and the portrait room on the floor. The library was made quite recently, by modifying an old room just for Violet's mother Aaliyah. The portrait room had all the portraits of the Rohr family. The third floor is a restricted area for Violet. Though she knows that floor consists of her father and mother's home office rooms.
Although made up in the Victorian era, the recent furnishings and developments had a hint of the Indian heritage, Aaliyah (neé Malhotra) Rohr now being a part of the Rohr family for 16 years.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Dear Diary,
Day 1 of being away from my home,
I am officially at Hogwarts now. I never got to register the fact when the thought that roamed inside my head, became a reality. Hogwarts, an year ago was just my imagination, something I had seen in pictures. I can not deny the fact, that the school, does surpass the beauty I had imagined. But, I had never thought, that I would miss my home so much as I do right now. That I would yearn to just be back with my parents. It is just day one, but, oh I miss them so much.
The bed is comfortable and I had rather say, quite interesting but it is not homely. Nothing feels like home. I somehow, wish to be back home. But, alas, I can not even tell this to someone, I will be made fun of. I would have to wait upto Christmas, to be back home.
Hogwarts, truly is a dream come true but perhaps, I had never imagined being away, far away from home.
