I'm looking for a book, not a brother
Setting: Between the bookcases in the library
IC date : September 20thIt was rather late before Ernest got the chance to make it to the library, some assignments stuff in his bag but largely those would be ignored. He was instead on another mission; finding a book on Ragnuk the First. He figured if he looked far enough he'd find the original plans for the swords that the goblin was known for.
If Ernest could make a sword half as powerful as some this goblin made, he'd feel like all of the time he spent on his sketches would be worth it.
He mumbled softly under his breath as he read the book spines, taking in each title as he stepped along. Most of the books seemed to focus on the Goblin rebellions, others on Goblin politics. He ended up getting a stool to look further up, hoping maybe the books he wanted were just out of reach.
As he looked through the spines, he felt bitterness growing in his stomach, before his hand grazed a book that looked promising. "Goblins and Their Creations: A Book about Goblin Weapons," He mumbled under his breath, his eyebrows raising in slight surprise. Yeah, this works.
He flipped open the book, skimming through it, and taking his attention off his surroundings.Private Thread for @Clark Baird

I'm looking for a book, not a brother
A small glimmer of light hit his saliva covered lips. The stick he set on fire via an incendio was reflecting off of the lips. His eyes shone with innocence but it was not the innocence all know and love, it was a mixture of innocence and chaos on the way.
At this point, he was sure the librarian absolutely adored Clark to the point where he felt like he needed to persuade the librarian to get a sign that said "Get the hell out of the library Clark, you're not welcome here anymore!"
He thought it was at least reasonable but even if that existed, he just liked the smell and sight of burning books. It was refreshing.
And he felt it made sense for a goblin to be smart and to burn books that had nothing to do with his absolute handsomeness. Clark withdrew his wand and used the extinguishing spell on the burning stick, to end it.
A little small talk and he was stuck. Stuck in the terms that he would need to get his butt out of the librarian’s view, as soon as possible otherwise he could risk damning himself.
He went into the goblin section and noticed that his favorite book series were close by, despite it being for muggles, they were Goosebumps. He reached towards the pink cover that said “Welcome to Dead House.” It was the first book and he found it to be an interesting read. There was once a goosebumps club that some gryffindor had hosted once.. According to the rumors he had heard circulating the halls. He looked and saw a boy that was only slightly taller than he was. “Hey dude.” He said. He took note of his ears. His fingers were slightly longer as well. It was his brother of whom he had met that summer.

I'm looking for a book, not a brother
Setting: Between the bookcases in the library
IC date : September 20th
Ernest barely got a couple paragraphs into his reading when he heard the other part-goblin’s voice. He let out an over-exaggerated sigh and shut his book. Why couldn't he get away and have one moment of peace? Why did this school have 0 places where he could just hide away from family, friends, and foes alike?
“Clark.” He said, looking at the older boy. “Are you even allowed in here? I was almost sure they didn't want you in here destroying anything else.” His comments were said nonchalantly but he figured the older would understand his slight rudeness.
His brother seemed to be in a good mood, whether it was his normal one or his ‘I just did something that will get me 3 nights of detention’ good mood, he'd never know. He figured he'd come to learn the difference with time, though he didn't know if he wanted to be around his brother long enough to learn it.
Which one is the greater of two evils? He figured knowing would keep him out of whatever trouble his brother made, but being a Baird might hand him a bad deal without his brother's help.
“Did you need me or did you happen to just stumble on me?” He asked Clark, wondering if it was just his luck that the other would find him here, deep in the goblin section.@Clark Baird

He giggled manically at being addressed. "Oh.. what makes you think I did something bad?" He felt like he was almost unhinged. Who was to say he wasn't? He turned and faced his half brother. "Just because mom decided to go find another flipping family does not mean I need to treat you as an equal. I will treat you how I treat my other brothers, Simon and Ben." He wanted to go on about how he treated them, simply with pranks because why in the world would he treat them like he did everyone else at this school? They were his closest friends even if he didn't want to admit that.
Clark answered. "Uhh.. well.. Just don't tell Mateo," He took the opportunity he had right now to converse in gobbledygook. "Su reda I voms aeui su du kukasrems vesr ka, ek sros'k kema vesr aeui? Jiks sarr ir.. Oreum (Orion) sros es vok aeui. I vrukeka aeui vum's sas em sruibra!" So like I want you to do something with me, if that's fine with you? Just tell uh.. Orion that it was you. I promise you won't get in trouble! The goblin put the goosebumps book back on the shelf and now used his free hand to make sure his brother's hand was free by slapping the book out.
"Anyways," He switched back to english. "What are you doing in the nerd section?" The goblin called the library as such because who in the hell would waste their time reading 'books'? It was better to beat someone up than it was to enrich your unforeseeable knowledge. At least you'd have muscles for beating someone up.Interacting With: @Ernest Baird

I'm looking for a book, not a brother
Setting: Between the bookcases in the library
IC date : September 20thErnest wished he could say he was shocked by the boy’s words about his mother, but he wasn’t. Clark didn’t hide his distaste, not even when asked. “Maybe she ran off with another family because you were such a horror to have around even as an infant,” He said under his breath. As an equal? Ernest wants to be treated like air like he’s not there. Ignore him.
When the older talked in gobbledygook, Ernest flinched at the tone. Clark’s wasn’t as rough as his grandfather's but it was uncomfortable to hear coming from the mouth of a creature whose jaw wasn’t designed for it. Even Ernest rarely gave it a go.
He wants him to tell someone, willingly, that he did something Clark wanted to do. Was he mad? Every action Clark took was begging for detention. Ernest wondered if he would be the first person in his life to be sent to Azkaban for life. “I do not want to have anything to do with you, you’ll only muddy up my reputation.”
He figured that was it, but he could only sigh and look at it splayed across the ground when his book left his hands ungracefully. “Well, I was looking into goblin armor and sword making, if you wish to know. Our history is rather important.”

Clark muttered under his breath, stared at him. "Who the fuck do you think you are? Our mother abandoned me, at least I know my father isn't tied to a horrible creature like your hideous father." He didn't mean what he said, he was just a bit bitter about the fact that his father wasn't even purely a goblin nor was his father even part goblin.
"Shut the hell up, your reputation has been tainted since you got here. And it's all thanks to me. Now, it's not my fault mommy.." He cringed with that word, "decided that she wanted to go off and sleep around town. That's her decision, and it most definitely is not mine. So if you would, please, shut up about our mother. I decided I would try and forget her for her henious crime of abandoning me with a human, and not just any human, an idiot!" The part goblin murmured, the aggression clear in his voice.
There was no desire to actually move on and do anything but if he got the chance to try and convince his brother to further ruin his own life, then yes, he would take advantage of that opportunity. Manipulation was a tactic he needed to develop but unfortunately for the short part goblin known as Clark, he wasn't great at that.
A talent that wasn't in his wheelhouse. He just proceeded to throw out his right arm and attempt to right hook him into the arm (punching his arm). "Now, take the blame for it or else I'll pay someone to snap your wand." He wasn't being very nice, that much was clear.

I'm looking for a book, not a brother
Setting: Between the bookcases in the library
IC date : September 20thErnest felt fury growing inside him as Clark began to speak. He had no right to say anything about his father having such a fool as his own. "You know nothing of my father." He missed out icily.
Ernest didn't understand Clark, he was all chaos and aggravations at times, but at others? He was venomous, just waiting for another moment to bite. Ernest knew nothing of his father but he did know that there were few things as bad or worse than the man who adopted him. Octavius was like a simpler overgrown Clark with no venom and all chaotic energy.
At Clark's dig at his reputation, he snorted. "She did you a great disservice didn't she, as his stupidity seems to have rubbed off on you. Why else would you be creating so much trouble? Mommy does not want you, daddy does not care to give you enough attention, do you need to make everyone look at you to fix your attention issues?" He asked with a bitter smile. "Sorry brother, but people have better things to do than coddle the idiots of the world."
At his lunch, Ernest grunted and grabbed his arm. Freaking oaf, he thought, as he glared openly at his half brother, his smile dropping. "I will not, so do it, it will only take Octavius' money, it will harm me none to have to wait a couple days for a replacement."Private Thread for @Clark Baird

He grunted in frustration. "GODDAMN IT LET ME WIN FOR ONCE!" He screamed with every syllable. "Your mother must've wanted to abandon you but couldn't." He said, trying to ice Ernest.
He proceeded to take his wand, growling. His brows furrowed and every single noise in his throat would be met with a grunt. Clark grabbed a book, the goblin book that Ernest was reading, and used the wand as if it were a dagger and continued to stab the book. "This is what I think of your mother, leaving me behind. And this.." He said, now attempting to snap the wand, "is what I think of your father. I shouldn't have had any brothers." And he snapped the wand.
His head circled with things to say. Things to apologize for but he couldn't. He just made a point, whether it was fruitless or not, and he didn't want to back down at that very second. "And for the record, Octavius sent me a howler saying I've done ran him broke."
"You are not getting a new wand quite as quickly as you wish." The goblin looked at the brother. "Have fun failing in class. Saved me money to not pay anyone to snap your wand, and I know your grades will have a bit of a toll with this loss. I tried to save you from this moment but you decided to make your bed now lie in it."

I'm looking for a book, not a brother
Setting: Between the bookcases in the library
IC date : September 20thAt Clark's scream, Ernest felt a wide range of emotions. The boy obviously wants to ice him, to hurt him more than anyone else has ever hurt him. Though Ernest felt pity for him at that moment the most. Your mother must've wanted to abandon you but couldn't. Did he not know? Did he not get told that Ernest was left just as he was, but not to the care of strangers but to their grandfather?
Ernest watched Clark rampage with solemn eyes and curious thoughts. Clark was as angry as he was, as lost. But where Ernest believed that finding their mother would make everything seem so much more clear, Clark seemed to believe the opposite, to put it lightly.
Ernest couldn't help the uneasy noise he let out when his wand was broken, the small bond he was just getting the privilege to nurture being broken before him in his brother's childish rage.
“Did that make you feel better?” he asked after Clark had finished his speech, his voice calm as he looked over his brother's damage. “Or do you wish to break something else?”
Ernest didn't think there was much else that Clark could break, besides himself, but he was morbidly curious to see what the other would do. Would he continue or see himself at a standstill? He had already hit Ernest once, he doubted he would hesitate to do it again.
Maybe Ernest should just … leave? Retreat to try to keep his new brother's sanity intact as much as he can; and his belongings and self with that.
