| ⠀ | When he'd cast the Cleaning Charm, Kim had put his satchel down on the floor nearby, where it was leaning up against the side of a pot on the floor. The pot would not break from the weight of the satchel because the latter wasn't that heavy and the pot was against the wall. As Benjamin spoke, his excitement obvious from his words and the way his eyes sparkled, Kim regarded him for a time. "If you have your basics down and you've paid attention in the lesson, it's not that hard to do. You just have to practice a lot to make sure you know how to do it." Kim told Benjamin. "You'll learn it in History of Magic. Make sure you take notes. The incantation and wand movements are essential to being able to cast it successfully. Don't forget to focus too. If you have everything right but don't focus enough, there's a chance the spell won't go off." He added. Despite his current state of mind, Kim couldn't help but want to help out students new to Hogwarts. They reminded him of better times, better days, back when Kim had been like them. Full of dreams, excitement, hope and curiosity as to what the future might bring to someone like him. A sigh escaped him when Tracey told him she knew the Mending Charm but hadn't ever used it before. As Elisa spoke, calling out his name, Kim paused for a time. He glanced back over at the Slytherin girl and tilted his head to the side. It was only after he'd focused on her face for more than a few seconds that the memory came to him. Ah right, Elisa. That had been her name. Elisa placed the pieces of the broken pot down onto the table and Kim nodded. When Elisa showed him her makeshift bandaged hand, Kim shook his head and took out his wand. "Mind if I take care of that?" He asked the girl. "Take the bandage off for me." Kim told her and waited for Elisa to respond to his words. | ⠀ |
