A New Face in a New Place PV Luna Choi Closed

Luna pushed a book towards her with writings about the Book and the Quill. Nico herself was kind of surprised that she knew of them. 'I.. did hear some girls talk about it at the Slytherin Common Room. I thought they were being idiots or something..' She let out a giggle that sounded more like air than a real giggle.

'Guess I still have much to learn. Which I actually don't mind. It's like starting fresh. An entire new world, new friends... That stuff...' She managed to make herself nervous again. Bad habit. People could scare her easily, but she was the best at scaring Nico.

'But...' She looked up at Luna. 'I'm glad you're showing me this, Luna. I- Ehm.. Others would've probably made fun of me for not knowing. It happened before. That's why I ... feel ashamed for not knowing things sometimes.'

Nico jumped up slightly, a thought popped up. 'L-Luna, are you...You aren't a Muggleborn, right?' She hoped she wasn't too straight forward. Her curiousity got the best of her. She didn't mean to be nosy. She just started to feel more open to the lavender eyed girl who could become a friend. 'I'm.. I mean I'm just curious.. Since you DO know stuff. While I.. didn't or don't so far. Heh..'

Rubbing the back of her head she smiled abit sheepish at Luna.

Not many people could tell another person a dumb thing that they did, and Nico was one of them. How surprising. Should she say this girl was honest? Too honest, in front of a person that she had just met a few times. It was just too weird for Luna since she had never seen anyone "this" naive. Or maybe this was a trap from Nico? The red hair was faking her personality?

...Instead of guessing what her intention was and kept being quiet, maybe the Slytherin Prefect should say something. "Learning is for everyone, even when you are old, you still have to learn." Luna took back the book from Nico, "I don't believe that there is anyone managed to know everything in this world."

"About those people, ignore them. I believe you can do it, can't you?" Looking at the book she was holding, the girl decided to give Nico again. "Take it. Of course, since I'm borrowing it from the library, you need to bring it back too. This one is about Hogwarts..." Another way to deal with them, improving knowledge. Luna would suggest red hair to do this more since this was what she would do.

A Muggle-born. Nico just asked her if she was a Muggle-born or not, which was quite funny. Angry? No, she wasn't, not at all. She wasn't the type of people who disliked that. It was just new to her. "You are not wrong. I'm not a Muggle-born. I don't think it matters where you were born though. I believe you know a lot of things that I don't too." Luna suddenly remembered the second-time when she met a Muggle-born. Muggle things... she didn't know anything about them.

Nico smiled softly at Luna. The Lavender eyed girl may have had a stern, rather cold, face. But really, she was kind. Looking at the book she gave her, Nico carefully opened it. Hogwarts, she said. It wouldn't hurt the redhead to study up about some more facts, do's and don'ts of this magical school. It's quite remarkable that Nico just rolled with everything that happened around her without much questioning it or looking into it. Actually, it made her more curious to what laid in this cobblestone fortress.

'Yeah,... No one is born with the knowledge of everything. You're right! All I can do to prove them I DO know more than a Muggle is by reading and studying about the wizard world.'

For a moment, she played with the back of the given book. Luna made her feel more confident about herself, about her situation. She couldn't help that she was born and raised outside the wonderful world of spells and charms. Making fun of her without an actual solid reason. Hah... She'd show them.

'I suppose I do have an advantage on other stuff. I...I wasn't aware that people who weren't born or raised in the..no- well, Muggleworld, don't know what.. ehm.. a television is for example. Or a... a blender.. Or a car!..'

She jumped up, as if she could scream Eureka the next second. Before she could, she noticed the.. what was probably a rather confused face.. of her fellow Prefect. Right. She wasn't a Muggleborn either. It would be a challenge to remember who of her friends would know what she was actually talking about.

'Right... Sorry. I eh... got carried away for a moment...' A blush of embarassment appeared on her face. Clearing her throat she looked up at Luna again.

' L-Luna, I ehm..' Shy the redhead scratched the bridge of her nose. 'I'm really... glad I'm getting to know you, bit by bit. I'm happy to know this isn't a school filled with bullies... Hah..' She smiled abit sheepish, but she meant every word of it.

'T-Thank you...'

Nico seemed like she was getting all pumped up. That was better than the girl who just let those Muggles bullied, she didn't like it when the red hair just let them did it without any complaints about how mean they were. Although Luna was still doubting this girl a bit, she believed that the being bullied part was not a lie.

Her parents disliked people who didn't own magic, but they couldn't convince her to think bad about the Muggles. Now, just with the fact that a Slytherin Prefect used to be bullied by the Muggles made her felt pretty disappointed in those people. Although she didn't really show it, Luna was pretty proud of being a Slytherin, she couldn't allow people to do bad things to her housemates. Were they all like this? Maybe not, but she wouldn't try to please them if she met them in the future. To be fair, she hadn't tried to please anyone in Hogwarts either...

It would be better if Nico wanted to do some revenge, Luna wouldn't mind giving her some advice, but after all, Nico was still a kid. She had never needed to do any revenge since no one had pissed her off, but she still knew how to make people felt uncomfortable. She shouldn't expect the mean part from Nico, cause she seemed like she didn't really have that... The lavender hair rolled her eyes, once again, completely thought she was an adult and everyone around her were just little kids. And what did kids mean to Luna? People who were naive and didn't know anything.

Television? Blender? Car? What were those things? Nico was not wrong at all, she didn't know anything about those. This seemed pretty familiar. The first time she talked about those weird things from the Muggle world, was also in the library. She used to be pretty naive and pretty friendly with that Ravenclaw girl. This time was still talking with a girl, but from her own house not from the raven's. In addition, Luna wasn't a nice girl as before.

"It is alright. You were not wrong, I... do not know about those things," Assuming that she didn't know was pretty hard, especially for a book worm like her, but lied that she knew about it would probably bring her into bigger trouble if Nico decided to discuss it.

If...If her colleague did this on purpose, she had done a good job. The doubtful that she had for Nico disappeared after the red hair had said that nice sentence. Luna wasn't trying to be a drama queen, but it totally felt weird. How could Nico just said that, didn't hesitate at all?

Luna coughed tried to find her voice back, "I guess... I do not dislike you." She couldn't be straightforward like her colleague, but well, saying this was no problem to her. "And as long as you are strong, no one can bully you, in this school, or in the school you used to go," Luna pushed the two other books that she had borrowed to Nico, continued teaching, "If you are not strong, use your brain. And if you think you are not smart enough, that's why we have something that is called book. I have made the wrong choice last time..." Last time she meant, was the potion party of course. That horrible day, and that mistake that she had made. It was pretty funny though, she had never regretted anything but it. If she wasn't a prefect back then, she would never go to that place. The past Luna just liked to avoid trouble instead of solving them, "And that was the reason why I decided to visit the library, in order to improve my knowledge."

"A bit out of detail but, may I ask what are your favorite subjects?" She hung around the library a lot, that was also why she knew most of the places of the books. Maybe, she could help Nico a bit with improving her brain. What if the red hair betrayed her? It wouldn't happen, as long as Luna didn't have any trust in her. She basically, just didn't want a Slytherin being bullied by the Muggles. And that was it, no more.
