Ayarai was enjoying her stay at Hogwarts so far, she has been welcomed with open arms much to her surprise, and not only that they haven't really pushed their luck with her, understanding her more then she thought. It was actually quite welcoming as she never realized what she was missing out on when she was living out in the wild with no one around except the creatures living there. Now that she is here though, she might as well enjoy it, though she doesn't exactly know how to yet so she has decided to walk around the camp grounds. So that is what she is doing right now, walking around the grounds towards the lake that resided nearby, she might find a good spot to hang out at in the process.

As she walked she remembered all the trees she used to climb on, at times she even went as far as to somewhat house in them, it's just all about the right tree. That is what she is doing right now as she walks towards the Great Lake, looking for a good tree to climb on and settle down in for a bit. Though what she would do while she was up in that tree was a good question, she doubted that anyone else would climb a tree, okay well...a small exception was there. After some walking around she found a tree that seemed like it would be good for her to climb, and so she approached it.

As a habit, when she got to the bottom of the tree trunk, she looked up, trying to see if she could see if anything was up there. Not seeing anyone at first she slowly made her way up the tree, only to pause mid climb, seeing another person up in the tree as well. Well that was a interesting surprise to have pop up, it was something that she wasn't expecting at all. Taking a deep breath she settled down on her branch, "So...you like climbing trees as well huh?" She asks the other girl that was in the tree with her.

It was a Monday and classes had ended for the day. Ruby had already done various activities that she did daily – things like homework, drawing, reading, writing in her notebooks, analyzing people, and more – and now she was ready to either meet people, just relax, or go outside. It was somewhat chilly and it was a fairly windy day, but that didn't particularly bother the young Slytherin. Before long, she had ended up in a tree close to the Great Lake – one that she had climbed multiple times previously. She was draped on one of the branches in the top half of the tree, staring out at the beautiful, glistening water of the lake. The wind blew through the leaves, making them rustle and causing many of the branches (especially the thin ones) to move around – waving, dancing, shaking. The branch and tree she had chosen had been carefully selected, and she had faith that nothing would break or be likely to cause her harm, despite the wind.

It was bliss to be up here. The smells, sights, sounds, and feelings of being outside and in nature were wonderful. Here, she didn't need to worry about anything. She could simply exist, surrounded by nature – not only the trees and the lake, but also the creatures that leaped from tree to tree, running across the branches, or hovered nearby. It was peaceful, despite the sounds that drifted from the ground up to her – sounds of humanity, of children playing and laughing, with others chatting amicably in groups. They were all background sounds, and since she had already gathered enough information from the people currently outside, she could tune them out. Then, she felt something – vibrations in the tree. They weren't coming from the wind, and they were too heavy/large to be a little woodland animal. A human? Probably. She wasn't the only person here that climbed trees. She glanced down, barely moving at all. Yes, that was definitely another human, a student that had apparently not noticed her. Who was this? They seemed familiar. Ruby had notebooks full of analyses, observations, and sketches of people that she saw. She mentally filed through this information, picturing each page in her head.

That was who it was. Ayarai Blizard, first year Slytherin. Someone in Ruby's own year and house – no wonder why she recognized her. Although the girls had never talked, they would share classes and had probably seen each other around, whether in the common room or just generally in school. What information did she have on this one? Ruby was thinking about this when she was interrupted by Ayarai speaking. By now, the other girl had clearly spotted her and was settled on a branch. Well, she would have to push her thoughts aside, for now, and live in the moment. Currently, that meant responding.

She gave her housemate a smile. “Yes, I do. Isn't it wonderful up here?” she replied simply.

Ayarai narrowed her eyes a bit as the light that was slipping through the branches of the tree hit them, her eyes being very sensitive to the light making her narrow them. She was trying to remember where she recognize the face from, remembering her after a bit of thinking. She was in the same year and house as her, which was a nice little relief since she could use someone to talk to who wasn't older, though she won't admit it. She climbed up a couple more branches to be more level with the other female, not wanting to be rude and seem like she was ignoring her.

"It really is, especially when the view is great, which it is." She says as she makes sure that she is stable on her branch, shifting ever so slightly, "Would you mind if I joined you up here? I don't want to intrude." She said as she keeps her tone cold. If Ruby was to tell her no, she would leave quickly, she didn't want to cause trouble, and would rather avoid it if possible. Thought that brought up the question of why would someone fight someone else over a tree?
