Finally, after about fifteen minutes of searching, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, he had found an empty compartment. Anthony wasn't necessarily ready to make friends yet - although something in the back of his mind was telling him otherwise - so he just sat comfortably in the seat, putting his suitcase under his seat, and just sat there looking out the window. It was raining, he had always liked rainy days, he found them somewhat soothing, letting him delve deep into his thoughts.

Anthony thought about many things, he thought about home, his parents, his grandparents, recent events both good and bad. Trying to distract himself from these thoughts he decided to try and think about something a little more pleasant. He was going to Hogwarts, after years of waiting he was finally on his way to Hogwarts. He was excited about many things, the classes, the spells, the dueling club. He was Intellectually Ambitious, in terms of Pure bloods the Kingsmage legacy was quite young, being only a few generations old. He wanted that name to mean something, to be known across the world. He was up for any challenge possible, but one challenge that especially intrigued him was the dueling club. For some reason, Anthony felt a sort of joy at the idea of dueling, the thrill of combat and the glory of victory. "It'll be fun," He said to himself calmly. "I just wish that I could make some friends."

Suddenly, the door to his car opened...

Katherine slowly opened the door as she looked around seeing the young boy. She looked at him for a moment, taking in the way he looked and his stance. He was thinking, he seemed nervous even. She gulped as she looked at the boy before taking a step into the car and closing the door behind her, making sure that it was fully closed and wouldn't open with a bump on the tracks.

“Hello there,” She said softly as she sat down across from him, putting her suitcase down beside her on the seat, “The other cars are mostly full or are older kids, I hope you don’t mind that I’m here. I can leave if you would like.” She spoke quickly, almost nervous she would get cut off if she talked too slowly. She wasn’t normally a nervous person, she was actually quite talkative, but she was new to the magical world, she had no idea what she was doing or who she was talking to. “My name’s Katherine. I’m sorry I should have started off with that.” She looked out of the window to distract herself looking and listening to the rain.

“Please let me stay, please let me stay..” She thought to herself.

As the door slowly opened, Anthony was broken from his deep thoughts. He was mildly surprised to see a young girl, who seemed to be a first year just like him. With a mild sigh of relief that it wasn't any of the older students, he greeted her with a small smile. She then greeted him with a soft "Hello there," and sat across from him. She than quickly, and quite nervously as Anthony could tell, that the other cars were full or mostly filled with older kids, then nervously ranting on how she hoped she wasn't a bother and that she would leave if she needed to. She then introduced herself as Katherine before apologizing nervously on how she should've started off with that.

Anthony, being reminded of himself with this girl let out a small chuckle and a smile. "So, you're nervous too huh," He started to feel a warmth coming from the pocket in his robe that held his wand, the kind of warmth that instilled confidence in him. "It's okay you can stay if you want, I don't mind." He said in an abnormally confident tone. "This whole situation is quite nerve-racking. Even being prepared for this my entire life as part of a pure blood wizarding family, I still can't help but feel nervously excited." Then he remembered, "Shoot." he thought to himself. "My bad, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Anthony, Anthony Kingsmage." He said with a slight blush of embarrassment, he quickly shook it off. "Anyways, you said your name was Katherine right? Nice to meet you."

Katherine looked up at him as she quickly nodded with a smile. Pure blood? She didn’t quite know what one of those were, she had never heard of them before. She listened to him talk, a smile forming on her face. She listened to him talk, telling her that it was okay that she was there. He seemed more confident than her, or at least her at the moment. If she really knew the boy as a friend maybe it would be different, because when she was with her friends she was one of the most outgoing people you would meet.

“It’s nice to meet you Anthony,” she said with a small laugh, “I’m more than nervous, I feel so out of place here. Everyone here seems to know what they’re talking about with magic, and I just found out this world existed a month ago.” She laughed to herself, her warm smile breaking out on her face, “This world is so confusing, I mean I live in London right, and I just found out that there is a whole other city basically behind my home. And I really don’t know what I’m doing with this wand, you know. None of it really makes any sense yet.”

She felt bad, she was a rambler and she couldn’t help it she just had so much that she wanted to say to people.

Katherine smiled, probably happy that he didn't ask her to leave. She seemed confused at his mention of Pure blood, but still kept her smile. Some of her nervousness had gone, but she explained how she felt out of place and how she had just found out that the wizarding world existed. That is when he realized that she was a Muggle-born. This, to Anthony, explained a lot. It explained her nervousness, her out-of-place feeling and her confusion on the magical world. If he had known that sooner then he probably would have been a lenient towards ranting on about the wizarding world, no doubt he just sparked at least a dozen more questions.

She ranted on how not a lot had really made any sense lately for her and that she didn't even know what to do with her wand, Anthony could tell that she was trying to open up and was definitely a talkative person. He decided to keep quiet, listening to her nervous rant, knowing that is what many people do when they are nervous. Being unexposed to muggles his entire life he was curious as to what he could learn about them.

That warmth again started to fill him, it again felt strongest where his wand was in his robe. He pulled out his wand, it was warm to the touch, but it was in a comforting sort of way. He put it on his lap and, noticing that Katherine had stopped talking, he gave her a small reassuring smile. He was secretly extremely nervous; he was never really good with people, but he seemed to be doing good so far.
"I know a lot of things can be confusing at the moment, but if you want, I can help you navigate your way through this new world. I've been in this my entire life so I know a lot, but I'm still learning as well so maybe we could learn together."

Katherine listened to him as she pulled her legs up close to her, sitting criss cross on the train car seat. He was offering to help her..he was offering to help her? Did that mean he wanted to be her friend? Her first magical friend! She smiled nodding at what he said, “Yes please I would like that very very much.” She hummed as she watched him fiddle with his wand in his hand. His wand was very pretty, the color was a pretty pale color as she pulled her own wand out looking down at it.

“I like your wand Anthony. Mine’s a chestnut I think that’s what the man working said. Chestnut with dragon heartstring. I like my wand. I think that it is very pretty. It makes me feel really cool holding it, does yours do that?” She asked him, leaning forward and rocking on the chair as she hummed again.

While she waited for his response she finally took in his appearance, he had messy brown hair and amber eyes and the two colors worked very well together. She liked his eyes, she loved seeing different colors. He also had a pair of round glasses which she found fun looking.

Anthony smiled as Katherine accepted his offer. He knew that she had tons of questions and prepared himself to be bombarded with them. However, the moment never came. He fiddled with his wand, nervousness again trying to take hold, but a feeling of confidence conflicting the emotions in a way he had never thought possible. Anthony noticed that Katherine was humming a tune, he didn't know the tune itself but appreciated it as it filled the silence of the cabin.

She then pointed out his wand, complimenting on it. Honestly, Anthony had almost forgotten that he was holding it, let alone fidgeting with it. The compliment caught him off guard but he quickly understood. "Huh, oh um, Thanks." He noticed Katherine pull out her wand, it was a beautiful shade of light brown. She then explained that it was a Chestnut with Dragon Heartstring Core wand. He looked on in fascination, "Interesting, a very powerful wand, especially with that Dragon Heartstring core you could produce some fantastic magic." He hoped that this would help explain the properties of her wand and understand it a little more, but had little doubt that he probably sparked another several questions.

He then looked down at his own wand, he was proud of it. But it reminded him of the times before Hogwarts. His Grandmother... The devastation to his parents and his Grandfather... The deep depression of his Grandfather... and how the only smile that he had seen his Grandfather have in several months was when Anthony got his wand...

Anthony couldn't help but tear up a little bit. "Dang it Anthony. Keep it together. Keep it together." He was embarrassed by the fact he was actually crying in front of one of his first friends. But for some reason, he was fine with that. He didn't know why, but he was fine in showing his feelings in front of her. "Sorry, I had a little moment there." He said as he wiped his tears and chuckled to try to bring in positive feelings. He was definitely opening up to Katherine, and honestly was glad that he could.

Interrupting his thoughts came a knock on the door, the door slid open and a lady with a soft voice and what felt like an aura of happiness filled the room along with the smell of sweets. "Anything from the trolley, dears?" Being the 11-year-old he was, Anthony couldn't help but get a sweet snack. It would probably make him feel a little better too. "Ooh, yes. Umm. A couple of Chocolate Frogs for me." He said, giving the lady a couple of Galleons that he had put in his pocket before he got on the train. He then looked at Katherine and smiled, "You want anything?" He asked her, "My treat. These sweets are some of my personal favorite things about the wizarding world. You should really try one."
